I looked at the journal's last page for the hundredth time, "hey, I think we're coming up on a town known for having loads of Houndoom," Ruby's tail starts wagging like crazy when I said that," Hourner City is where we're heading!" I closed my journal and picked up my friend. I held my map out as well, "let's go!" Snowy and Volpsei ran ahead, they were playing tag as usual, and it was nice to watch those two Ninetales playing while we walked. I looked up and saw a Meowth Balloon, "hey guys be careful, Team Rocket's overhead!" they both nodded, while James started yelling at me, "hey! You're not supposed to look up!"
I laid my head up against Davaid's chest,he was the perfect pillow, and he was made even better by how much I loved him. I felt like I knew my trainer for years, but it's only been a month since we've met. While Team Rocket were up above us yelling their heads off at Davaid, I had no worries in the world. I yawned, "yo, can you guys go yell at somebody else? Ruby's trying to sleep," he held me closer to him while Team Rocket kept on yelling at him.
"Look, want me to blow up your balloon again?" I barked up at the Meowth, who proceeded to tell Jessie and James what I told them. They both scoffed, then adopted cocky grins, "you think you can take us on? Go Gourgiest!" she threw a Pokeball, then out came what used to be her Pumpkaboo, while James sent out his Inkay, which still hadn't evolved, "Volpsei go sit by Davaid and enjoy the show," I stepped sat down and giggled while Volpsei did as he was told. It was adorable seeing petty thieves thinking they can easily take on a Ninetales of all Pokemon.
"Yo, are you three sure you wanna take Snowy on? She beat ya with one attack last time, and she had the advantage over your Pokemon on paper," James grinned, "you think we'll go down that easily? Inkay Psybeam!" Snowy lazily sidestepped the attack, "Energy Ball!" commanded Jessie, before her Gourgiest could even charge it up, Snowy quickly hit it with an Ice Beam, and threw its unconscious body up to Team Rocket's balloon. Their spirits didn't falter, since James told Inkay to attack a second time, only for it to get knocked out with a Moonblast.
The trio recalled their Pokemon back into their Pokeballs, then started going in the opposite direction of where I was sitting, "we're running off again!" they yelled all the way. Davaid walked up beside me, Ruby had fallen asleep in his arms already, "nice one Snowy!" He moved on hand to pat me on the head, and quickly moved it back to support the sleeping Pokemon in his arms. Volpsei ran up to me and started cleaning my face of the dirt that landed on me after the Psybeam hit the ground. I stood up, then the baby Ninetales ran up ahead to resume our game of tag, which I happily joined back in on.
I finally managed to pin down Mom while playing tag! I quickly got off of her and started licking her face, "you're getting stronger, that's for sure!" she sat up and stretched. I yawned, "you're tired," that didn't really sound like a question, Mom pinned me down for a second, then lifted me up onto her back. I was too big to be carried by the scruff anymore, "prepare for a bumpy ride!" I barked before Mom turned around to walk by our trainer, "why would you look at that!" I swore if Ruby was sleeping in his arms at the moment, he'd start carrying me in an instant.
July 17, 2013
During these last few days, ever since Mom and I had shared that Hotel room for one night, Snowy has been a lot closer to me. I'm not complaining, I love being with any of my Pokemon, but I probably know why Snowy had started being a bit more needy of my company; she can drastically outlive me, so she probably wants to spend much more time with me. Tonight while we're camping out again, I'll try to pay her a lot more attention, in fact, while we sleep, she's currently using me as a pillow. Usually it's me using her as a pillow due to how fluffy she is, but not tonight.
I sighed as I laid my head on Davaid, he was currently writing another one of his journal entries, "oh! Hey Snowy," he closed his notebook, then wrapped his arms around me. Not once had he stopped writing one of those while I had cuddled up for the night, I tilted my head, "Davaid, what did you write?" he rubbed the side of my head, which made me relax even more, "Snowy, are you dreading the day for me and Mom to kick the bucket?"
Snowy nodded at me, "yes, yes I am," I say up, and hugged her, "I can't imagine living for half as long as a thousand years…" I mused, while holding her closer to me. Ruby seemingly knew about Snowy's current crisis, and sat from a distance. I just kept petting her, she wrapped her tails around me, but not like she was trying to cover me like they were a blanket. She was trying to hug me with them, "hey, Snowy," she stared up into my eyes, I had her full attention, I held her still, and planted a kiss on her forehead, "just be good and keep care of Volpsei after that day I inevitably fall down."
I felt like I was Davaid's younger sister despite being much older than he is, "just be good and keep care of Volpsei," I would hold to his wishes until the day I die. Volpsei decided to break the mood, by [inning us both to the ground, and wrapping his tails around the two of us. He laid down on top of us, then went to sleep, "it's still weird seeing a Ninetales act like a kit sometimes," said Davaid while chuckling at how quickly Volpsei's energy skyrocket and hit rock bottom, "I hope that doesn't change."
I woke up to Ruby licking my face, it was already noon… had I slept in that late? Snowy and Volpsei were also wide awake and staring at me, "sorry guys, I'll make ya breakfast now," Ruby pawed me, then barked. I looked at Snowy, "she said it's fine, but she is kind of hungry," just as Snowy told me that, all of their stomachs started to growl, I sent out the rest of my Pokemon for breakfast, then got to work. I had some leftover pancake mix, so I mixed some Pokemon food in, then served everyone their share of food.
While we walked I scooped Volpsei up into his arms, "well guys, Hourner City is only an hour away from here!" I quickly picked up the pace, and started walking faster. While I started to pet Volpsei, he was the calmest I've ever seen him, "hey buddy," he still had my old sunhat, which I let him keep ever since I got that hat from the Pokeball company. His fur was ridiculously soft and silky, which was typical of a Ninetales, and it made Ninetales so desired by trainers and fur factories. While I had to agree that a Ninetales' fur was nice, it was better left on the Pokemon's body, with it still alive and well. Wild Ninetales almost made it a goal to stay away from commonly travelled roads or populated cities, because while a nice trainer could catch it, and treat it like it was royalty. Some would probably poach or catch it, then sell it to a fur factory.
I gritted my teeth at that thought, but greed is what makes the world go round for some people, and they'd do anything to get just a few extra PokeDollars. I quickly put those aside and kept petting the Ninetales in my arms, he was absolutely adorable, so I was going to admire that cuteness. He rolled over so I could get just the spot that had probably been irritating him all morning. He started snoozing shortly after I started scratching his belly.
I could hear the noise of cars in traffic, Hourner City was close, I started shaking, I was going to meet more Houndoom like myself! Volpsei's tails got caught on my face, I was quickly reminded of how large a Ninetales' set of tails can actually be, he was in Davaid's arms, yet his tails extended all the way to the ground, and then some. I felt the concrete of a sidewalk underneath my paws, "we're here!"
