Ok complicated chapter sorry.

Notes at bottom. Gotta keep dem facts straight.

Morning. 4AM.

The cold air was breezy today, scattering dead leaves and dust across PortTown's industrial sector. The place was a concrete jungle. Oil spills stained the asphalt. The faint chemical smell of the sewage system was barely perceptible beneath the scent of ash, dust and high-quality (incredibly expensive) plastic explosives.

This was one of Geese's Warehouses.

Mary had no idea there was one here. In fact, nobody in the entire police department seemed to have any prior knowledge of this site. It seemed that HCon didn't share everything with the dirty cops… which was expected from a man of such famed cleverness.

Regardless, these… terrorists knew what even the Police Dept. didn't. It was a very coordinated attack. There was little to no collateral damage on the surrounding buildings. There was likewise no survivors - the ballistics team had yet to come back with the types of firearms used - but a cursory glance told Mary these guys were running-and-gunning with the top of the line. This operation was well funded… And given the recent developments with Rock, Kain and that absolute numbskull Iori Yagami, Mary was pretty certain she knew the culprits of this particular operation.

("Yeah, the boss wants to know who the fuck did this… find some fucking fingerprints, or our heads are on the chopping block.")

("Dammit Sloan, everything's blown to shit… it'll be a miracle if we find anything. And I bet you 100% everyone was wearing gloves. These guys are professional.")

("Camera feed?")

Mary sighed as she listened to her colleagues chatter from behind her. Many of them appeared to be stressed, scared even. Perhaps some were dreading the return of the violence which Geese Howard could so easily release upon this city? Or maybe some had been tasked to find the culprits of this attack? Mary didn't know, and even if she inquired, nobody would tell her. Sometimes she regretted being such a straight shooter. Nobody on the shadier side of the law would dare ally with her… but her deduction skills more than made up for it.

Huh… never seen Murray work so hard sniffing for clues before… rat…

But… in Mary's mind, this case was already solved.

Kain Heinlein had orchestrated the attack with his wealth of insider knowledge and great expertise in committing violent arson. According to what she'd heard from Terry and Rock - the former Underboss was here for revenge against Geese. This attack had all the signature marks of Kain's handiwork, and there is no doubt in anyone's mind as to who had done this. Surely even Geese knew - if he didn't already.

So 100% Kain hasn't allied with Geese. This is an internal gang conflict funded with Yagami Clan money? No… Yagami melted all my evidence a couple of days ago… he was helping Geese… so why is he shelling out the cash to fight him now? Ugh…

What only Mary knew, was that Kain's activities were funded by Iori Yagami - who normally had nothing to do with Geese's gang (save the occasional skirmish) - but had been roped in by Rock Howard. Iori's motivations were entirely unknown - but then again, he was terribly erratic, and there was likely no rhyme or reason to him anyways.

Kook… I should call him and ask him...

Rock was supposedly running in league with Heinlein. He served as a channel for funds, and hopefully had the good sense not to let himself get caught on camera, or otherwise involve himself in any incriminating activities… besides funding a terrorist operation, of course.

Ugh… Rock…

And if only Rock Howard hadn't involved himself in this mess, Mary would've been very happy to round everyone up and drag them all to the police station for interrogation. Rock was somebody very precious to Terry, and he wouldn't be very happy if Mary nabbed him and tossed him in jail for the next ten years. Last night, Terry had begged her to keep Rock out of the investigation for a bit, at least until he could go fetch his son back from this mess of a situation.

Mary agreed… not just as a favor for Terry, but also for Rock's safely.

Because, if this little secret got out - not only would the Police be after him, but Geese Howard as well! Letting anyone know of Rock Howard's involvement spelled trouble. Geese wouldn't take very kindly to his warehouse being blown up - and was surely going to retaliate. Mary was even intent on keeping it from Blackwell (who was - right now - was probably getting his warrant signed) out of the loop concerning Rock.

Phew… Hurry up Terry. At least one good thing comes out of this… we get to storm Geese Tower. I hope he didn't booby trap the place…

Mary sighed and looked to the sky.

The dawn was peeking over the horizon, and she heard the murmur of police chatter over her comms. Behind her, Sloan and Murray were muttering amongst themselves as they checked the cameras of the neighboring buildings.

It was likely a useless pursuit. Kain knew better than to let anyone run around bare-faced. That was like asking to be caught.

("Yeah, everyone was wearing masks too, but earlier in the day we saw some mask-less kid delivering stuff. Looked like Terry's boy.")

("Well tell the fucking boss then!")

Her colleagues didn't seem to have the same insight as she did, and were mulling over the tapes with frantic gusto. Mary waved at them to excuse herself and made her way to her police car. She had better things to do right now… Hopefully Iori was sober and feeling talkative.

Ok, so recall that

Blackwell just blamed the murders of CIA agents on Geese to get a warrent. There was no evidence for this charge (Yag burned it at Kagura's request, then immeidetly forgot what he was doing. THanks Chiz) He also needs something to blow up before he gets his warrant. He wants warrent to storm geese's tower to find incriminating evidence (documents etc...) to hopefully put Geese in Jail. 100% Illegal method.

Mary is in on Blackwell's plot. She was asked by Blackwell to keep this all under wraps from the other Cops, because lots of them have been bribed by Geese Howard. Prior to this, Mary was the one who discovered the dead body of Rock's best friend - and deduced the murder was performed by Geese to Cover something up. Right now, Mary is trying to do two things. Catch Geese with Blackwell, and also protect Rock long enough that Terry can extract him from the situation before it gets hairier

(Yag) Terry and Mary discovered from Yag that he is funding Rock's criminal escapade. Iori attached the condition that Rock wouldn't fight - which he agreed to. Prior to this, Geese pulled a favor from Kagura to get Iori to burn all the evidence of the two CIA agents killed in his warehouse. Once he finished, he immedielty forgot what he was doing - thanks to Chizuru - and chalked it up to aliens.

Terry is going to go get Rock back from this craziness.

Rock is just going with the flow. Following directions

Kain has just taken out HCon's main warehouse, temporarily stopping cash flow. He has two more locations to hit, the Attorney arm (hein) and Geese Tower itself.

Geese has a ton of police reporting to him about wth happened to his main shipping bay. Now he has both Police/CIA and Kain on his back. Kain is the bigger problem for him. He has got to handle Kain ASAP... and looks like Sloan and Murray found out Rock's involved. GG Mary. Well not like you can do anything about it. But mary thinks that nobody else knows Rock is involved save herself, Terry and Yag.

k ur caught up.
