I think from now on(or rather, most of the time), I'll go into a character's past when Davaid is traveling, since travelling can get very monotonous and boring.
Just as the Charizard started flying off, I looked at Snowy, "we probably shouldn't let him go," in an instant, the Charizard was brought to the ground by Snowy, and was quickly put back in the ropes. I patted Snowy on the head, "thanks girl," I stood up, then started walking back to it. I patted him on the head, "sorry bud, but we can't have you flying off," he growled at me, I sighed then walked away. I started tightening the ropes around his wings, arms, and legs to keep him from getting out again.
I sat down next to Volpsei, who was still gnawing on my old hat, "heya buddy," I grabbed the hat, but Volpsei started tugging on it, "it's mine!" he protested. I chuckled while we had our game of Tug of War, as he was just about to get it out of my grasp, I wrapped my arms around him, and pulled him onto my lap. Volpsei kept his focus on the hat in his teeth, I just petted him, and scratched him.
I heard the police sirens in the distance, the officer was probably on his way back with a cage now. That would be good at least, then me and my team could get back to traveling. I looked over to Ruby, who got her head stuck in my bag while probably grabbing a snack! I put Volpsei back on the ground, then walked over to help Ruby out. We both struggled for a second, until I got the bag off of the Houndoom's head, and I patted her while chuckling. I reached into the bag, pulled out a couple of snacks, then held them out for her Ruby to choose. She grabbed one, then I put the others in the bag.
I put Ruby in my lap, "next time if you need something, just ask, girl!" I said while still inwardly laughing at the sight of a Houndoom with a bag on its head. I laid my head on her back while she gnawed on her snack. I heard a car stop a few yards away from us, the cops were retrieving Charizard, "young man, can you tell me your name?" I looked up to a cop holding a notebook, "Davaid Hyles, sir," he nodded, wrote something down in his notebook, and then walked away. I moved Ruby off my lap, then walked over to the officers moving the Charizard into their wheeled cage.
"so… what's gonna happen to him?" the officier shrugged, "probably gonna train him, then find him a home when he reforms," answered the officer, "if he doesn't?" the officer put his hand on his gun, and I got the message. I tapped the officer, "if he changes for the better, can I take him?" he shrugged, "sorry kid, you can't make a request like that. First comes, first served," I guess that was fair, so I stepped back to let him do his job.
After the police cars pulled away, I picked up my bag, then yawned. I walked over to Axl, who was still out of his Pokeball, and picked him up. Mightyena were a lot heavier than Ninetales and Houndoom, but I'd still carry him around. I left him in his Pokeball while we travelled, so I might as well let him have some fresh air.
I guess now I do that thing I said.
I slowly opened my eyes then sighed, same old cage, same old, stale food. When my trainer had joined Team Flare, I didn't expect him to start treating me like trash after he joined. I sighed, then laid my head back down, and brought it back up. I couldn't be caught sleeping this late, or they'll beat me again! I sighed, I was only a Poochyena, yet they'd still beat the hell out of me for messing up! I looked to my side, the door opened, and some lady walked into my room with my trainer.
"So that's the little Poochyena I've heard so much about," said the lady, "yep, toughest little bastard we've got, you wanted him for something?" said my trainer, "yes I did, I wanted to take him out, then train him until he evolves. He will be a more valuable asset once he's a Mightyena," he nodded, and handed the lady the key to my cage. Just like that, I was in this lady's arms, and she walked out of the Pokemon storage room.
The lady's arms were comfortable, but I still didn't feel safe, at any moment she could just start hitting me. Judging from her attire, she was an admin, so I had to listen to her even better than my trainer. I flattened my ears, then looked around, the lady giggled then patted me on the head. She then held me so I was staring her right in the eyes, "it's adorable seeing a Pokemon cower in my arms."
She held me close, then patted me as if that would calm me down. This was the first time I was petted since being put in that cage a few weeks ago. Two grunts opened the door for the lady holding me, and she kept on walking. Eventually she settled me on the ground, "now hold still, or you won't get dinner tonight," I lowered my head, I was just a pup, yet this was happening? I couldn't even whine or I looked weak, if I looked weak, they'd hurt me again. The lady then came back with a toy, a bowl of food, and a large Mightyena, whose fur was covered in blood.
She put the food out in front of me, "now, I want you to fight for this food, the winner gets the meal," she looked at me, "and if you win, I'll give you a treat on top of your meal," the Mightyena lowered himself to the ground, and I did the same. My heart beat kicked up, there was no shot in hell I was winning, not even in my dreams. He lunged at me, so I got underneath him, and bit down on one of his legs. I felt fire make its way through my teeth, I learnt Fire Fang!
The Mightyena yelped, which meant I should keep using Fire Fang, I lunged for its throat, and used Fire Fang once more. I jerked my head as soon my jaws latched around his neck. I felt a crunch, then the Mightyena fell to the ground. The lady knelt down, then pushed the corpse away from me, "good work, you're as tough as the grunts makes you out to be," she pushed the bowl in front of me, and I dug in. This was the first proper meal I've had all month! My tail wagged as I ate, the food wasn't stale or old, and I was thankful for that.
After I had finished, the lady put the toy in her hand in front of me, "your treat is a bit of leisure time," her voice suddenly became somewhat mother-like. The toy looked worn out, but it was better than nothing. The lady grabbed it, then held it out so I could bite onto it, "go on," she said with a smile. This was the first time I've seen somebody in this hell hole actually be friendly to me, I grabbed on, then started playing tug of war with her. It still stung, knowing my actual trainer and I would never do this for as long as I lived. I half heartedly tugged on it, while the lady kept her grip firm. Before I knew it, the nice leisure time was over, and I was put in a cage once more. I laid my head down, then whined quietly, little did I know that it would be just like this for the rest of my life.
