Chapter 17

3 Months Later

Kourtney was swaying to the music that played softly in the nursery as she was trying her hardest to get her little one to go to sleep for the night. Skylar was a very healthy baby but she had her moments and let her momma and daddy know about it as well. Well tonight was one of those nights. Kourtney finally put Skylar down and smiled at her little one who was sleeping soundly and walked out of the room and closed the door somewhat and walked down to her and John's room and smiled at John who was sitting up in bed.

"She finally go down?" John asked

"She did she fought it for a bit but finally crashed out."

"That is good she fought me during her nap today and that is why you found the two of us crashed out together she was sleeping on my chest and I took a nap as well." John said

Kourtney smiled at John and walked into their bathroom and used it then washed her hands and face and got ready for bed and then climbed into bed and snuggled up to John.

"You okay sweetheart?" John asked

"Yeah didn't sleep good last night and all. I got a phone call from Nikki and Dolph today." Kourtney said

"Oh really what did they want?" John asked he was shocked they even called.

"Not really sure. I didn't talk to either I didn't accept the charges as it was a collect call." Kourtney told him

"Do you want to talk to either of them?" John asked

"Honestly John I don't know. I want to know why they kept coming after us to break us up. I know from talking to Brie that the two got married so why did they keep trying to break us up." Kourtney said

"They got married?" John asked

"Yeah I was just as shocked. I don't know what to think about it all. I want them to get the help and get better." Kourtney said "That is why we sent them there."

John pressed a kiss to her forehead and held her close. "I know that sweetheart. I'm sorry they called."

"Don't be sorry hon. I love you." Kourtney told him and kissed his jawline and snuggled into him.

"I love you too baby. I will get up with Skylar tonight." John said then got up and walked to check on her and smiled that she was sleeping soundly and walked back into their bedroom and got ready for bed and climbed in and held Kourtney close.

Both Nikki and Dolph were slowly making a breakthrough on therapy and finally had admitted what they had done and how wrong it was. Nikki had made a phone call to Kourntey but she wouldn't accept the charges the only thing she could do is keep trying. She wanted to say she was sorry for what she had done and Dolph did as well. They were happy with each other and couldn't wait to move on with their lives. They needed to say they were sorry so they could officially move on, their only question was if John and Kourtney would accept it and all.

Nikki was sitting in her favorite chair looking outside. It was pouring down rain and just a dreary evening. She had watched the sun set and the sunset never did disappoint her. She had written a long letter to her mom and sister and along with her brother saying how sorry she was and that she wanted to build a relationship with each of them that consisted of truth and honesty. She just hoped that they felt the same way. She and Dolph sat down and wrote a letter to both Kourtney and John it was actually in the mail and waiting to be sent out. They had both expressed how sorry they were and that they were in the wrong. Both wanted to talk to them face to face but only time would tell, if John and Kourtney would agree to the face to face meeting. Even though the two of them still had a long road ahead of them they couldn't wait to build a life together outside of rehab.

Dolph walked up and wrapped a blanket around Nikki's shoulders as it was a little chilly for being close to summer. That year had been strange for all of them. He loved his wife and couldn't wait to move on. He had also written a letter to his family saying how much he wanted to build an honest and open relationship. Dolph's parents had been out and were shocked to no end that he and Nikki had gotten married while they were happy for the couple his parents felt that their son could do no wrong and blamed Nikki for it all. The couple had expressed time and time again that it wasn't fault to either of them it was something they did together. He was hoping that his parents would see that sooner or later. His brother had been out a few different times and understood where the two were coming from and was pretty happy for the two of them.

"Hmm thanks hon." Nikki said quietly.

"You are most welcome I see you love this spot." Dolph said

"I do it's peaceful and I can see the ocean from here. Do you think that John and Kourtney will agree to meet with us face to face?" Nikki asked as it was weighing on her heavily.

"Honestly sweetie I don't know we can only hope and pray that they will. I think we started off on a phone call even though Kourtney didn't accept the phone call she at least picked up the phone. We will know in a few days if we get the letter back as they have to sign for it." Doph told her and kissed her forehead.

Nikki leaned into Dolph and he wrapped his arms around her and held her close. The two also had another surprise and that is when Randy and Stacy came to see them. Like everyone else Randy and Stacy were happy for the couple that they were happy and working not only on themselves but also as a couple.

Time would only tell if John and Kourtney would come to see them and accept their apology or not.

The next few days passed quickly and Kourtney was just coming back home as she had done a yoga session with Stacy in Tampa and walked down meet the mail lady and she said that she had to sign for a letter. Kourtney looked it over and saw that it was from the rehab center and she could tell that it was Nikki's handwriting and didn't know what to think. She signed for the letter and walked inside and put it on the island along with the rest of the mail. She knew that Randy and Stacy had been to see the pair and it had taken her a few weeks to wrap her head around why they went but understood that they were looking for closure. She wanted it as well but didn't know if it would end or if Nikki and Dolph would come and try to break them up again. After getting cleaned up she peeked in on Skylar and saw that she wasn't in her room and looked on the playroom and smiled at her and John and went and sat down by them.

"Hey you." John said and leaned over and kissed her forehead "She doesn't like tummy time much."

"She does if you play it right." Kourtney said and placed her paci in her mouth as she was a bit fussy and laid right down in front of her. "Hi baby girl."

Skylar just cooed up at her momma and kicked her legs and John couldn't help but chuckle at his daughter. " I didn't think about that. You are an amazing momma."

"You are an amazing daddy as well Johnny. Skylar loves you. She just doesn't always like tummy time and I found a way to make her like it for a bit. We got a letter from Dolph and Nikki." Kourtney said

"Really? I know from talking with Randy and Stacy they are finally admitting what they did was wrong and trying to make it right. I hear they also got married." John said

"Yeah. I left the letter on the island. It's been hard from me to wrap my head around it. I want closure and all and I want to get past it. I know we will never be friends but I don't know does that make sense?" Kourtney asked

"It does babe, we will read the letter together and maybe we go see them. See if Randy and Stacy will stay with Skylar and all or see if your parents will keep her." John said. Kourtney smiled at her husband who she was deeply in love with and nodded her head in agreement.

"I like that idea honey. I need closure do you as well?" Kourtney asked?

"Honestly I do babe they tried their hardest to take my wife and baby away from me. I will be right there by you holding your hand the whole time. If you start to feel uncomfy tell me and we can go." John told her and kissed her temple. "I love you sweetheart. You and Sky are my life."

"You and Sky are my life as well. I will call the rehab place tomorrow and schedule an appointment to talk to Dolph and Nikki babe do you think my parents would stay with Skylar?" Kourtney asked

"Do you even have to ask. Go talk to them and then tomorrow call and schedule an appointment with rehab babe." John said and smiled down at Skylar who was nearly sound asleep on her stomach and snuggled into her blanket.

Kourtney went down and talked to her parents who said they would be more than willing to keep Skylar at their place so she was more than comfy at her own house and that she and John needed to take the week and talk to Nikki and Dolph and then take the week for themselves.
