We stepped into Courier Town, the waterfalls made the town an absolute beauty to look at it. Volpsei took Snowy's place in my arms, she didn't complain at all about that, "this place is amazing!" I said while staring at the triple waterfalls that surrounded most of the town. "You don't see stuff like this in Alola," Snowy commented. Ash and his friends were staring around as well, but they were clearly ready to head on down this Pokemon Showcase. Judging from the name alone, it might just be an overly fancy version of Pokemon Contest, it probably wouldn't be my thing, but I wouldn't mind watching it.
"Whoa! Look at that Ninetales!" said a group of people as we walked by. I just thought they were talking about one of the contestant's Ninetales, so I paid them no mind, "it looks well groomed!" said another person, "Davaid, you do know that they're talking about Volpsei right?" Ash asked me, "wait what?" I looked around and saw people taking photos and pointing at the Ninetales in my arms. I shrugged, "meh, not my problem," Volpsei was too busy chewing on my old sunhat to really notice all the attention he was recieving.
"Excuse me sir, would you like to trade your Ninetales for my Slurpuff?" asked some girl, I could only assume that she was competing for the Pokemon Showcase thing. Given that we were in the lobby waiting for Serena to sign up, and get changed for it. Her friends were up at the desk with her, while I just sat down on a chair with my Pokemon with me. I looked up at the girl holding the Pokemon she wanted to trade, "which one?" she then pointed at Vopsei, "hell no, you aren't going to convince me in a million years as to why I should give him to you," I said before grabbing hold of him in case she tried anything.
"Oh, c'mon! You saw how everyone reacted to him! He had a shot at being a star!" I shook my head again, "I don't think he really cares about that shit," Volpsei looked at, "please don't give me to that lady," I nodded, and patted his head. I hugged him, then looked up at the girl, "now, can you kindly get the hell away from me?" she groaned after realising she wouldn't be getting a new Pokemon today, then stomped away. What a brat, "hey Volpsei," I tried getting his attention, "yes Davaid?" he tilted his head, he was down right adorable, "boop!" I poked his nose, and Volpsei licked my cheek, "hey Davaid, you coming or what?"
"Oh sorry!" I figured I should probably recall everyone so they wouldn't take up the seats that could go to other people. I pulled out their Pokeballs, "alright, everyone I guess you're gonna have to be in your Pokeballs for the time being," I returned everyone except Ruby, since I figured I could just lay her on my lap. I felt bad for putting everyone in their Pokeballs, I didn't know how much they liked it in their Pokeballs, but according to Snowy, it's like a relaxing vacation to the beach. I got up with Ruby close behind me.
I sat down in my seat, Ruby jumped up on my lap, and I had noticed that she was a bit heavier than when I last held her like this. I dismissed that to watch the show, "the first round is a Poke-Puff baking contest, you can't just make them, but you need to put on a show whilst making them!" said one of the judges. All the contestants, Serena included were up on the stage with their cooking set up. I lazily looked around, I saw James and Meowth watching in the back with Wobbuffet, did they like these sorts of shows? My question was answered when I noticed Jessie in a really bad disguise up on the stage as well.
The contestants all then made their way down from stage except some girl, whose name is Nini, some friend of Serena's or something. After she had performed, everyone started sending in votes, "uh…" I couldn't work out the weird device that was given to me to cast votes. Eventually I just gave up, then buried it under my seat. I then acted like I just wasn't there, then started petting Ruby, who had fell asleep during the performance. I don't think she was into this sort of stuff either.
After a bunch of other contestants came up, one came up that stood out. Not because it was Serena, she had already gone, and got enough votes to move to the next round, it was the brat who acted like a little prick after I said I wouldn't be trading Volpsei for her Slurpuff. Her performance was awful, but just really flashy, and she didn't get enough votes to get to the next round. Serving her right, just like she had done earlier, she stomped off stage, digging her nails into her palms all the way. I was sure she'd end up being an ass about the whole thing.
After a couple of minutes, I snuck out of the audience seats, and got to the door. I was bored half to death while I was in there watching that stuff. I only stuck around because Serena was performing, and she had already taken her turn. I stretched and yawned while Ruby did the same. I let Volpsei and Snowy out of their Pokeballs. I sat down on the chair I had sat in previously, "alright guys, you want to go sightseeing and come back after the showcase is over?" they nodded.
I grabbed everyone else's Pokeball to let them see what we would be going to look at, but before I could step out the door, the same brat from earlier stomped ahead of me. I sighed, "because you didn't give me that Ninetales of yours, I lost!" I raised an eyebrow, "excuse me?" I was pissed, "what the hell did I have to do with you losing? Get your damned head out of your ass, and take the loss, you'll get a chance to make up for it later," she still wasn't moving, and kept on going about how I made her lost.
I just sat there, tapping my foot until she stopped talking, "are you done yet?" I asked, "I will be if you give me that Ninetales…" I pinched my temples, "listen, if you're gonna keep standing in front of the door, I'm going to drop kick you," Snowy then lifted the girl up into the air, and threw her into a nearby trash can, "now we can go sightseeing," said Snowy, "oh thank Arceus for you Snowy," I tried to pat her on the head, but she retracted before I could. I scratched my head, and opened the door for my Pokemon. i don't know why Snowy stopped me from petting her, she usually loved getting petted, perhaps it had to with me tugging on her tails. I sighed inwardly, I probably just killed the trust between the two of us.
I let Zacian, Axl, and Oasis out of their Pokeballs, and started on our walking towards a spot where the view of the triple waterfall was even more outstanding. I sat down on a bench to enjoy the view, "hey! How dare you let your Pokemon throw me in the trash!" I groaned, "listen kid, I do not give shit about you right now, can you kindly fuck off?" Snowy then growled at her, and she ran away screaming for her life, "thanks Snowy," she turned her head, jumped up on the bench, and started staring at the lovely sight. That was not like her, she usually laid in my lap, but I thought nothing of it.
After the rainbow dissipated, I got up, "we should probably check back in on the Pokemon Showcase," I stretched for a second, "it's too late," said Ash and his friends, "oh, hey Ash," I scratched the back of my head, "so Serena, how'd the Showcase go?" she pulled out a key ring with three large keys fixed to it. I had no idea why she was showing me these, "I'm going to be honest with you guys, I have no idea what a Pokemon Showcase was until now," Serena sighed, and started explaining the whole "Showcase" thing.
"So… it's just a really fancy Pokemon Contest?" Serena facepalmed, "and you got what you need to take part in the big thing, so hey! At least there's that," Ash turned to face the triple waterfall, "what were you doing out here?" I shrugged, "I figured if I wasn't going to watch the whole Showcase through, I might as well see the sights this town has. Then I saw a double rainbow while looking at this triple waterfall," I explained, "I think it's about time we go find a place to spend the night," said Clemont. We all agreed, then started walking towards the Pokemon Center.
