I edited last chapter a bit, so go reread it if you want. If you don't, then basically Davaid also broke a leg.

I laid in a hospital bed ever since I had woken up, it felt completely awful. Most of my injuries from falling from a hot air balloon were healed, but my leg was still broken. I sighed, "Davaid!" I slowly tilted my head to who just called my name. It was none other than Mom, "hey Mom," she put her hand on my forehead, "Snowy told me what happened," she put her hands on her hips, "you could've gotten yourself killed!" I closed my eyes again, "mom, I wasn't going to sit back and let my friend get kidnapped."

"I know dear, I know. I'd do the same if Snowy and I were in your situation. If Snowy hadn't already blown up the balloon," I looked around, "where even are we?" I noticed my leg was in a cast, "I flew out to where you and your Pokemon were on Smalg, we're in Lumiose City now," I looked at the foot of the bed. My belt with my Pokemon's Pokeballs were in a guest chair, "Snowy is waiting outside of the hospital room, Ruby is in her Pokeball at the moment." I nodded, "are they allowed in here?" Mom nodded, "if you request that they should be let in."

"Can you grab Ruby and Volpsei's Pokeballs for me?" Mom followed through with my request, and I let them out of their Pokeballs. Volpsei looked like he just watched me get murdered, "Davaid you're alive!" Volpsei climbed up onto the bed, and curled up into my side. Ruby whined, then pawed me, "hey guys," I said quietly, "this may suck, since we can't travel for the time being…" I smiled, "at least we're back in Lumiose to watch the Pokemon League while we're out."

"I assume you want to let Snowy in here?" asked Mom, "of course I'd love to see her!" Mom hit the button next to the bed, "let Snowy in please," as soon as she did that, Snowy bursted through the doors. She climbed up, moved Volpsei out of the way with her telekinesis, and started licking my face. I wrapped my arms around all three of them, "how is your leg, David?" I shrugged, "it's fine, I dunno when it will heal however."

That's when Mom grabbed a doctor's note, "your leg should be good in six or eight weeks, until then, you can move around with a wheelchair, or you can stay here," I nodded, "does that mean I can still watch you and Snowy in the Pokemon League?" Mom nodded, "as long as you show up in a wheelchair," Snowy pushed herself deeper into my neck, "Davaid, next time Team Rocket shows up, let me take lead," I nodded, "whatever you say, sis," Snowy's eyes widened, "Davaid, that is the first time you referred to me like that…"

I thought she was going to hit me, she grinned, "and I welcome it," suddenly some guy entered the room. He looked familiar, but he was a complete stranger to me. Both Mom and Snowy's faces turned into angry scowls, Mom crossed her arms while Snowy stood over me, "what did I say about you showing up ever again in my life?" the man ignored him, "I've come to check in on my son."

"Mom… who is this guy?" she pointed her thumb at him, "that's your pathetic excuse of a father."

I walked hand and hand with dad on the way home from Trainer School, "so, how was your first day of class?" he asked, "it was cool, but they won't let us use fully evolved Pokemon!" I pouted. I wanted to be able to bring Snowy along, that would've been cool! It would be just like those battles she and Mom had recorded, and that I had watched many times over! Dad then ignored me for the rest of the walk home.

Our house was in a nice little plot of land in between Iki Town and Hau'oli City, we had the best house ever! It was close enough to the beach, close enough to the forest, and it was fairly close to where I went to trainer school at. My teacher then caught up with me, "alola Mr. Hyles, may I speak with Davaid?" he nodded, "sure, go ahead. I'm going to go into the city and grab a bite to eat."

We sat down on our porch's steps, Snowy ran out to greet me, "hey girl!" she rubbed her head on my cheek, "now Davaid, you said you wanted to bring a fully evolved Pokemon to class?" I nodded, "yessir, in fact, I want to bring Snowy tomorrow," he shook his head, "you know how your classmates were talking about how tough of a trainer your mother is?" I nodded, "well, that's her strongest Pokemon sitting in your lap," I nodded, "okay," I looked down at my feet, "I didn't say you couldn't bring her in every now and then, but you can't bring her in tomorrow. We need to see where you all sit as battlers."

After he said that, he got up, "I'll lend you my Rockruff, how does that sound?" I nodded, "that would be awesome!" his Rockruff was the best!. After we both agreed on that, Snowy climbed out of my lap, "Davaid, you should probably go get some rest, you've got a big day tomorrow," I groaned, "oh c'mon Snowy!" I hugged her, "I wanna stay up!" not long after I hugged her soft fur made me yawn, "what was that about staying up?" i sighed, "fine I'll go to sleep!" Snowy picked me up by my shirt, and carried me inside. I was asleep before she laid me on my bed.

"You did surprisingly well Davaid!" said Kukui, his Rockruff barked and yipped, "you're at the top of the class in terms of sheer talent!" I jumped up and down, "I guess your mother's skill translated well to ya, huh?" he put his hands on his hips, "well, I'll see you tomorrow!" I waved, "have a goodnight Kukui!" he waved back, "right back at ya!"

As usual, Dad came to pick me up, "so Da vaid, you need a Pokemon right?" I nodded, "I got an idea, we're going into the woods, and we're catching you a Pokemon!" I titled my head, "Mom said I'm not allowed in there," he waved his hand away, "she never said you were allowed in there without me with you, did she?" I shrugged, "I guess so… but you don't have any Pokemon, "who said we needed a Pokemon to catch a Pokemon?"

We took a step into the woods, I could hear Pokemon all over, "well kiddo, you point at a Pokemon that you'd think would make a good first catch, and I'll get it for you," I nodded, "okay dad!" all I could see were a bunch of eyes staring at us, a couple of Pikipek, Youngoose, and… something howling? I felt a shiver go down my spine, "Dad, what was that?" I turned around to see him running back towards the entrance of the forest. Out of the shadows came a large, growling Houndoom. It wasn't its usual coloring, and sparkled under the light that shined through the forest. i t had horns pointed sharply towards the back of its neck, it was a Houndoom.

"Uh… h-hey there," I took a step back, it took three steps forward. It was still snarling at me, Dad was long gone, he left me for dead, "w-wait! We can talk this out, and we could be friends and-," it jumped on me, its bared teeth made me flinch. I was trapped underneath it, "somebody save me!" I cried, fearing for the worst, "Snowy, sue Moonblast!" In an instance, the Houndoom was sent flying. Mom grabbed me in her arms, "Snowy, let's get out of here, I got Davaid!"

Mom rocked me back and forth in her arms, "Davaid, are you hurt?" I shocked my head, "good, now… tell me why you were in the woods when I told you not to?" I pointed at dad who was sitting on our porch, "he said he'd catch a Pokemon in there for me, and when we heard a howl," Mom looked up at my father, her face wasn't the worried face she had while holding me. It was an angry scowl.

"What the hell were you thinking?" I could hear my Mom yelling at dad for leaving him, "what? It couldn't have been too bad right?" I felt the doggie door flap, "oh hey Houndoom" the very Pokemon that had attacked me was being friendly with Dad. I was hidden under Snowy's tails, but I got a glimpse of it, "you have a lot to explain, Julian."

Early on in the morning, Dad was gone, it was just me, Mom, Snowy, and the rest of Mom's Pokemon. I didn't feel like going to trainer's school that day, or ever again. I just cuddled up with Snowy, or Rush depending on the day. They were the only two Pokemon of Mom's who listened to me, even though all of them loved me. I never saw my father again. Beofre he left however,

I felt my own anger building after the memories flooded back into my head, "you are not welcomed here, especially after you nearly got your precious son killed," she pressed the button on the side of my bed, "security, get this man out of my son's room please," a couple of people wearing guards' unifroms walked into our room, "hey! Am I not allowed to see my son?" I shook my head, "get the hell out of my sight," and just like that, the security guards dragged my "father" out of my room.
