Snowy used Protect immediately, stopping the Flamethrower in its tracks, and immediately shot an Ice Beam at Malva's Houndoom. Without any effort, it shook off the attack, "so this is the Ninetales I've heard so much about, huh?" the Elite Four member grinned, "she doesn't seem like much of a threat," she raised her arm, "Houndoom, let's not waste time, use Fire Blast!" Snowy used Protect once more, "I cannot dodge right now, if I do, she hits Davaid," Snowy thought, "Fire Fang!" The Houndoom rushed in quicker than Snowy could react, and bit down on the Ninetales. Snowy hissed as she felt a burn stirring up. The Ninetales immediately clawed at Houndoom, and started trying to use Hypnosis on it. Only for Snowy to be slammed into a wall by her opponent, she was out for the count.

"Aw… look at that, not even your strongest Pokemon can match my Houndoom blow for blow." Malva taunted. Zacian used Behemoth Blade on the Houndoom, which was narrowly avoided, "stay the hell away from my trainer," she growled, "you shouldn't be of a much trouble at all. Houndoom use another Fire Fang on it," it ran forward, only to be batted away by the legendary Pokemon. Malva grinned, "so one of your Pokemon can actually fight?" Houndoom got up, shook its head, and stepped forward. Zacian looked back at Davaid, "well, are we going to win this battle, or what?" David pounded his chest, "let's do this!" before anyone could move, everyone heard a grunt off to the side.

Elizabeth sent out Rush, he had the best chance at taking down Malva's Houndoom in a swift Accelerock, "Elizabeth, don't even bother, I'm not losing today."

Snowy got, shook the ache in her side, and stayed still. Her eyes never left the ground. Her tails hung low, and she was growling at herself, "Snowy?" Elizabeth stared at her partner, not once had her Ninetales done this in the past.

I kept my eyes on the ground, I stepped forward, "Zacian, take a step back for me," I instantly fired a couple of Moonblast at Malva's Houndoom, the force alone sent shockwaves. The Houndoom was sent flying into a wall, "do not even think for a second you're taking me down that easily," I told Malva. The asshole grinned, "oh please, I know you aren't doing well." I limped in front of Elizabeth, "Snowy, are you okay?" I nodded, "of course I am, that Fire Fang just caught me off guard," I was hiding the fact that I had virtually no more energy left to fight. That Fire Fang took way more out of me than I thought it would. Zacian stepped in front of me, "don't over work yourself, I have an idea."

Malva's Houndoom got up, it was shaking from just how much those Moonblast took out of it, "you're gonna fucking pay!" it growled at me. He limped forward, "Zacian, I hope whatever plan you've got, is a good pan," she grinned at me, "trust me, I know what I am doing." she struck the wall with her sword, making some of the ceiling collapse in between us and Malva.

Mom sighed, "now let's use this time to get out of here," she stopped when she heard paws weakly coming closer to us, it was Dad's Houndoom, he looked like he was in bad shape. He stopped in front of my father, who was still frozen, and started trying to thaw him out. I almost felt bad for him, Dad clearly didn't even love the Houndoom, but it still loved Dad with all his heart. Before I could say anything, Zacian picked me up by the shirt, and started carrying me out down the hallway, "hey Axl, you were raised here right?" the Mightyena nodded, "can you lead us out?" Axl barked, then took the lead.

I noticed how Snowy was limping, she wasn't doing well at all, she was burnt around the neck. She constantly winced whenever she turned her head to check our surroundings. I reached out to pat her head, having been burnt by a Houndoom before, I knew Snowy was hurting a lot. Axl kept taking lefts and rights, sniffing around for an exit. The Mightyena stopped by a door, "this a way out?" he nodded, then Mom opened the door.

I sighed in relief, but that still begs the question, how are we gonna put down Team Flare with somebody like Malva working for them? I let out a deep breath. Sunlight damn near blinded me when we got out of the Team Flare base. The tunnel's exit seemed to be just outside of Lumiose City. In fact, this was the exact spot where I met Axl.

Snowy padded over to me, "are you hurt?" I shook my head, "no, I'm fine," I pointed at her burn, "you need to get that checked out, now." I was dead serious, "I'm willing to bet that hurts like hell. In fact, I know it does," she nodded, "yes it hurts, but that can easily be healed by somebody at the Pokemon Center. Don't worry about me though." I held her head, "don't tell me not to worry about you, a burn from a Houndoom isn't something you should take lightly." Mom picked her up off the ground, "now c'mon guys, we can't just sit around here. I'm going to get Snowy to a Pokemon Center, and then I'm filing a police report."

Snowy dropped onto the bed in our hotel room, a cast was around her shoulder, and her burn was still there "hopefully we do not have to deal with them again," she said with a deep breath. Volpsei climbed onto my lap, I held his head in my palms, and gave his jaw a rub. The Ninetales began to relax in my grasp, "thank you for your time ma'am, have a goodnight," Mom hung up the phone and sighed, "the police thinks our story is full of shit," she sat down next to her own Ninetales, and started petting Snowy.

"I think me and Snowy might have to drop out of the Pokemon League after this," my eyes widened. Snowy must've said something to her, "Snowy, you have a burn around your neck, sure we put a burn heal on it, but that's still gonna hurt for a while." Mom put the Ninetales on her lap, "besides, I assume Team Flare will try coming for us again. I don't think we can take Malva again."pus, there's always next year, so let's just take a break until then." Snowy whined before licking Mom's cheek, "I know, I wanted to win this thing as much as you do, but I can't have you pushing yourself."

Mom rubbed Snowy's cast, "and Nurse Joy said no battling for you for at least a week. The next round starts in five days." she then kissed the Ninetales on the forehead, "now get some rest, you deserve a nice, long sleep."

I stared at Elizabeth, "we can't quit now, I can still fight." She smiledat my determination, "are you sure? I nodded, "okay Snowy. Let's rin this League!"
