I woke up to the sound of something chirping in the hotel room. I had fallen asleep in Elizabeth's arms hours beforehand. The two of us turned to the hallway that led to the door, Davaid peeked his head from around the corner, "hey Mom," Ruby and Volpsei came around the corner, and jumped up onto Davaid's bed. He walked over and patted me on the head, "how are ya feelin' girl?" I leaned into his hand after barking. Though, the question still remained, what made that chirping noise? "You can come out Latios," Elizabeth didn't look surprised. The Eon Dragon floated around the corner and got besides my trainer, "so this is the friend you made?"

"Yup, somebody stuck an electric collar on him," Davaid sounded a bit pissed at that statement. Latios rubbed his head up against Elizabeth before returning to Davaid's side. I nudged him, "do you plan on catching him?" I noted how Zacian, Axl, and Oasis were still in the room. Along with myself, Ruby, and Volpsei. Meaning Davaid had yet to capture the Latios, "well, it depends on what Latios wants to do. For now, I'm happy with letting him stay in the hotel and rest," I nodded, "greetings," I directed my telepathy towards Latios, "hello!"

The psychic dragon stopped levitating, laid down on the bed, and looked his eyes on me. They were looking up and down my body, like he was trying to get a good read on me. While he did that, I also got a good look over his body. Latios' neck looked burnt, probably from the shock collar Davaid had described. After moments of silence, he broke it, "are you a Ninetales?" I nodded, "you don't look like any Ninetales I've seen in my life!" I tilted my head, surely a legendary Pokemon would know about various forms of regular Pokemon.

"I'm from Alola, Ninetales and various other Pokemon look vastly different from their regular appearances." I explained, "so, do you wish to be Davaid's Pokemon, or do you plan on leaving sooner or later?" he shrugged, "well, if he lets me be his Pokemon, I wouldn't mind. He's nice for a human," his voice broke into a small growl. His views on humans probably weren't the best, which I found completely understandable. The growl did catch the attention of all the humans in the room, however.

Davaid placed his hand on Latios, "something got you mad bud?" the Eon Dragon shook his head, "alright bud, just focus on relaxing. Whatever the hell you went through definitely wasn't fun." I couldn't help but chuckle at how Latios demanded more attention from Davaid. The latter happily complied. Running his fingers through the dragon's feathers.

My ears suddenly went into scanning the room, even though we were completely safe. It likely had to do with the presence of Tyler's Houndoom on the other side of our room's wall. I had sensed him a while ago, but didn't think much of it. I could easily take it out if need be, on top of that, I didn't sense Tyler anywhere near the Pokemon Center. So either the Houndoom got abandoned, or was spying on us. I sensed in the same room, a human I didn't recognize at all. I put those thoughts beside me when Volpsei jumped up, and tried getting me to play with him.

Houndoom groaned when Zack got up from the bed, the Dark Pokemon did have to admit one thing; he actually enjoyed the boy's company. It felt nice having a human who actually cared for him and his injuries. The Houndoom tried getting up to follow the boy, only for a finger to be placed on his snout.

"Now Houndoom, I want you to stay here. I'm just going to visit the Pokemart to get you a better pillow to rest on. Given that you're not supposed to move around for awhile, it's best that you're comfortable while you're here." he said to me. Zack gently patted my head, "now, please be good for me. If you need anything like water or food, let Lunair know, and he'll get it for you." I nodded. The boy's voice was ridiculously smooth. Like an angel was speaking right to me, which made me think I was dead when he first found me. It was the polar opposite to Tyler's raspy, cold, and just unpleasant voice.

At first that voice of his was a bit charming, especially when I was much younger. That charm when he decided to take up a deal with Team Flare. All because Snowy "took" up all of his son's attention. From what little I recall of seeing the boy. It was almost like the boy was actually asking for his father's attention, but rarely received it.

Lunair jumped up to my side, "hello… anyone there?" he snapped me out of my mind, "I was asking if you wanted a Pokemon Puff?" I titled my head, "the hell is a Poke Puff?" I was rarely ever given treats. When I was they were usually just some stale chips or something like that. The Umbreon made a Poke Puff float with what I assumed was telekinesis, "give it a try, Zack won't mind." I took a small bite out of it.

The Houndoom's eyes got comically huge, like it was the best thing he had ever tasted. In one swift bite, he scarfed down. He sniffed around the bed in search of crumbs, "you loved it didn't you?" the Houndoom nodded, "Zack makes them all the time. If you asked, I'm sure he'd make a dozen for you!" said Lunair. The Umbreon laid his paw on the Houndoom, "can you tell me how you ended up on the sidewalk and cut up?"

I looked away from Lunair, "let's just say, my old trainer wasn't a great guy." That was the first time I ever admitted something like that. Thankfully, the Umbreon didn't press any further, rather just leaned his head on my neck. I'm sure if he was larger than I was he'd cover my head with his, "well, now you are safe. I think Zack would be willing to take you with him to our home in Santalune." that sounded like a nice thought.

"Greetings."
