Unknown time

His day had started off bad enough getting called into work, early in the morning. An early morning coworker had contracted a stomach bug, meaning that he had to work a double shift today, a grand total of 15 hours.

He had gotten dressed in his work uniform and in his car to drive in to work when a bolt of lightning struck the vehicle he was in.

His field of view went entirely black. All he heard was a screech of tires, and then silence.

Two days before the events of Pilot - I

He came back to on a forest floor, his vision spinning and his thoughts disorganized. He could have sworn that he was driving, but he could not remember where to nor why.

He looked around him then sat up, taking his surroundings into detail. A rifle was leaning on a tree beside him; he grabbed it and took a closer look at it.

The rifle was an SVDS, his mind supplied to him- if he interpreted his memories right. It even came with its correct scope attached, which his mind instantly supplied directions as to how to properly use it.

He looked down, finding himself wearing a uniform of a familiar style with a flag, a rectangle colored in with horizontal bands of white, blue, and red, on the left bicep. The exact name of the country that flew it eluded him, however. A chest rig had a holster containing a GSh-18 pistol, and it was loaded with several full magazines for both the rifle and the handgun.

"Guns and some ammo, that's a start…" He muttered and looked around again. "But nothing else. Not even a… phone? Scroll?"

A headache started to form the more he thought about it, so he decided to focus on something else: finding civilization

He slung the rifle on his shoulder, looked up, and sighed. "Either way, I get the feeling I'm stuck here alone if I don't find help." He looked around and set off in a vaguely eastward direction.

After walking for what felt like an hour, he came across a small pond. Having glanced around and seen none of the wildlife, he knelt by the water's edge. Scooping up some water, he splashed his face and then noticed the reflection that stared back at him.

White hair, a pair of wolf ears, and grey eyes on a face that was not his. He had to double-take to make sure that his mind was not playing tricks on him. He reached up to feel one of the wolf ears to be absolutely certain they were real, and the slight jolt of an unfamiliar feeling only confirmed it.

A name came to the tip of his tongue: Seryy. Seryy Volkov. It was… unfamiliar; foreign, even. However, it is the only one he got, so it would have to suffice.

Seryy's internal dialog was halted as he caught a glimpse of something dark just across the pond, approaching. It was some sort of bipedal beast, with entirely black fur and a white mask.

And it was staring right at him, practically licking its chops.

"The wildlife is not friendly at all.."

It growled.

"Nope."

He spun around on his foot and set off into a sprint as it leaped across the pond. "Definitely not!"

A sense buzzed in the back of his mind. He ducked as the beast sailed in the air above him.

Dormant instincts snapped into motion, and he drew the pistol and fired twice. The bullets hit their mark, and the beast hit the ground. He approached and planted another bullet in the beast's skull.

There was a faint sense of deja vu as he watched the beast's body sublimate almost immediately after its death.

"What the..?"

As the beast completely disappeared into smoke before him, he looked up at the late afternoon sky. A shattered moon was visible among the field of blue.

"Where.. the hell am I?"

A/N: To start this little A/N off thank you for the one review and follower I have currently as I am last aware of. Thank you, CambrianTimebomb.

Now to the actual reason I'm writing this... I certainly hope I will be up to expectations as I emerge as a relatively new writer. The title and summary will change as the story evolves to better reflect the actual content, but that will hopefully be all that will need to be changed.

That will be all.
