A/N: This is my second spin-off to Their Little Family. I was finally getting back into writing a story line for Mackenzie and realized that she really had a very interesting life that I'd really only hinted at before.

For reference, the big Mackenzie chapters are 10, 32, 36, 37, 49, and 88. But since I'll be covering most of that here besides Mack's childhood, you don't have to read them if you'd rather be surprised. And then I was talking with Meowser Clancy and she got way too into it, so we just had to make it a collab :) Girl power!

For every big Mackenzie chapter comes a Scott chapter… enjoy!

Scott hated parties, they seemed unnecessary. Maybe it's his antisocial side showing, or that he continues to get himself stuck into conversations he isn't interested in. Well maybe he should show attention, he was supposed to be listening to Ned complain about how much he hates wearing ties. "I feel the same man," he laughed. "Ties are an unnecessary form of torture."

"Not always," Ned shoved his hands in his pockets. "The last time I wore a tie it somehow ended up restricting Katie from touching me in a very sexy way."

"You and Katie always keep things fresh don't you?" He asked looking over at her, a beautiful blonde standing next to her. "Who's that blonde next to Katie? She's gorgeous."

"When you have a kid, you got to keep it fresh." Ned peeked over his shoulder. "Oh that's Mackenzie, one of Katie's younger sisters."

He knew Aaron had three, no four sisters, and Katie was the eldest of them. Mackenzie was the second eldest if he remembered right, but he'd never put a face to the many stories he'd heard about her. She wasn't this geeky swimmer in the way her brother had described, but then again Aaron wouldn't objectively describe his younger sister as anything else.

The dress she wore was very feminine and it reminded him of a rom-com straight from the nineties. The color was a deep red, like a deep color that brought images of wine and fresh roses to his mind, of intoxicating drinks and smells. The black lace trimmings flowed around the cascading layers of her skirt. It is cinched at the waist showing her figure nicely and as he noted, her strong upper body. She had more muscle to her than Katie did and was a bit shorter, but was still just as beautiful.

A sharp squeal from Katie and Ned's son pulled Scott's eyes away from Mackenzie's delectable hips. Fuck. Probably for the best. "Ash, hey!" He picked the little kid up and spun him around. "How you been kiddo?"

"My mommy and auntie were just talking about you," Asher whispered in his ear.

"They are?" He asked. "What about?"

"Auntie Kenzie thinks you're cute like mommy thinks my daddy is," Asher snickered and looked over at his father.

"Your mommy thinks I'm cute?" Ned pretended to be shocked to make his son laugh as he scooped him from his arms. "No way!"

"Mommy loves you daddy!" Asher giggled. "You know that!"

Ned laughed. "I know. Just teasing. I love her very much too, you know that." Asher nodded his head vigorously in agreement. "That's right."

"So Mackenzie likes me huh?" He asked.

"I think so," Asher muttered. "Mommy told me to come tell you."

"Of course she did," he chuckled and shared a knowing look with Ned, who just shrugged. "Oh don't play coy. Your wife loves to stir the pot."

"Ned! Scott! Get over here!" Katie called out, and he gulped.

This was more than Scott asked for and his partner's wife was obviously planning something. He caught Mackenzie's gaze and smiled, flashing only one of his dimples this time. She grinned in return just as he came to stand in front of her. The blonde was much shorter closer up he realized. Being six foot four inches tall it wasn't unusual to be taller than most people, but even still she was nearly a foot shorter than him and he could smell her perfume. Some kind of flowers. Was it Gardenia? He knew it wasn't Katie's.

"I figured that everyone in the wedding party should get to know each other," Katie said with a straight face, but it was an obvious ploy.

"Mommy!" Asher flew into his mother's arms and she grabbed a hold of him.

"Hey bud," Katie said kissing his cheek. "So Scott, I'd like you to meet my sister, Mackenzie. Mack, this is Ned's newish partner Scott."

He extended his hand towards her, and hoped she wouldn't be shy. "It's nice to finally meet you, Mackenzie," he said. "I've heard quite a bit about you. I just never knew your name until now."

He hoped she was one of those women who liked accents, he'd had his fair share of women who cringed at the Brooklyn side of his voice.

She slipped her hand into his and her cheeks blushed a light pink when his fingers wrapped around hers. "I'm sure Aaron or Ned have all sorts of stories for you about me," Mackenzie said softly. "But you should also know that I have just as many stories about them both. If you ever want any good material to tease either one of them with, just come to me."

"Oh really?" Ned demanded. "What could you possibly have on me?"

"Let's see..." Mackenzie held up one finger. "There was that time that I was babysitting Asher and you and Katie came home completely trashed and you tripped going up the stairs because your pants fell down. There was that time when you locked yourself out of the cabin and tried to get in through an open window, but we thought you were a burglar so we called the police on you. There was also the time that—"

"Okay, I think that's enough!" Ned exclaimed.

Scott couldn't stop staring her eyes, a delicate shade of blue that shined in the light, and her hand was so soft against his.

"Why are you guys still holding hands?" Asher giggled.

They immediately let go of each other and Katie set him down, telling her son to play with the other kids running around, but before Scott could even say anything, Ned pushed him towards the other end of the room where the nearest bar was. "What the hell man?" He muttered and pushed him away. "I was so close to asking her to dance."

"It's all about stealth with the Clancy girls. You don't want to let her know you're swooning, not yet." Ned reassured him. "She likes you. I've known Mack her entire life and she doesn't just blush for every guy she meets. Don't worry."

"How did that work out with you and Katie?" He scoffed and ordered himself a whiskey. "Didn't one of the guys say you two almost got divorced a few years after you got married?"

"That's... a long and difficult story, but every couple has their ups and down. She's still my wife, isn't she?" Ned said, smiling in the direction of where Katie was standing. There was something there. He didn't have to ask to know that. "We have a kid now and are talking about having another in the near future. Things are good. They'll be good for you too."

He sighed. "I just don't want to lose the one chance I have." He looked over at her, talking to another girl with dark hair who looked similar to both Katie and Mackenzie but in different ways. She must be another of their sisters, but hardly a teenager, and that's when he realized that Mackenzie was looking at him in return. He waved at her, and after a moment she waved back.

"See, don't worry. You'll get to dance with her I'm sure." Ned touched his shoulder with a chuckle as he stole his whiskey and downed it. He tossed him a ten dollar bill. "Now excuse me... I'm gonna go find Katie and get out of this tie. Next rounds on me, but Mack's only 19 so don't let her convince you to get her drunk or Jim will kill you. I might too."

Aaron probably would as well.

Later on, Scott found her again, bored and looking at her phone while keeping an eye on Asher. "Katie and Ned not back yet?" he asked sliding into the seat next to her, loosening his tie a little.

"No," Mackenzie said and then set down her phone. "They're never quick about what they do."

"Well maybe we could get Asher to stay put with a cool game on my phone," he said giving the boy his phone with a smile. "You can play that driving game bud."

"Thank you, Scotty," Asher said pressing on the app happily. "I won't move from this spot."

"Thanks wing man," he chuckled and stood up as a slow pop song played. "May I have this dance?"

She flushed a bright red but took his hand without saying anything, nodded her head, and he led her on the dance floor. The touch of his hand burned into her skin; her heart raced, she was dizzy from his touch. Her scent engulfed him and took control of his senses as he pulled her closer to him, and her body fit with his perfectly.

Scott had his hands firmly but gently placed on Mackenzie's waist while she securely wrapped her arms around his neck. He gazed down into her eyes, smiling at her, while the rhythm of their bodies that danced slowly with the elegant music was passionate. He twirled her around a bit later, dipping her as he leaned closer to her. Staring at the beauty before him, his breathing became shallow and his heart suddenly felt heavy inside his chest.

There was definitely something between them. He took in a deep breath as he pulled her back up onto her feet. Their bodies molded together, every move he made was attached to her. He could feel the beat of her heart, her soft breath on his neck, her softness all over him. The heat of his hands and body contained her, she no longer had control of her body or her mind and had never before experienced anything like this. Their magic grew with each sway and touch and they'd hardly ever said a word to each other, but the love was already there, the passion already explosive.

No single doubt existed. They were made to love each other, and here they were dancing, together.

The music soon changed and they never left the dance floor, Mackenzie continued to fall harder for this mystery man as Katie and Ned emerged from somewhere, looking very close and barely even hiding it. Her dress was very wrinkled and barely covering her knees anymore, neckline moved majorly to the left and a bright mark between both her breasts and one one the top of her neck, pieces of hair were spilling from it's place and her lipstick was gone. On the other hand, Ned's tie was long gone, collar up and lipstick stained, shirt untucked from his pants.

"Is it just me or has Katie's neckline shifted?" Melinda asked Jim, leaning on her husband's arm.

"I think everything has," Jim snorted as his daughter and Ned walked back in, barely even hiding why they left. Or if they were, they'd done a really bad job at it. "Plus they both have very prominent fresh love bites."

"And Ned's collar," she tutted. "We do better than that, don't we?"

"Not sure. Shall we, uh, test it out?" He laughed.

"Maybe later. We're a little old to be fooling around in supply closets," she playfully pulled on his tie. "I'm enjoying my seat right now."

"You can still enjoy your seat," he whispered as his hand creeped underneath, sliding up hem of her dress to her thighs.

"Jim," she warned.

"Shh," he pressed a finger to her lips and kissed her neck.

Katie and Ned slipped into seats next to their parents. "Nice tie," she said and he looked down, standing up.

"Crap. I left the tie," he said running from the room.

"Don't judge. You've done worse," Katie laughed. "Plus you and Delia have been bugging for another grandbaby."

"A Grandbaby?" She gasped as Jim's fingers brushed against her panties, resituating herself in the chair.

"We have a doctor's appointment next week, but yeah we're trying." Katie said, nodding. "It's not that exciting besides the actual making them part."

"Your father and I are always open to babysitting Ash if you two need a night to yourselves, you know that." She offered.

Jim's fingers slipped her panties out of the way and one finger inside her. She had to keep the conversation going or their daughter would figure them out, or worse she'd actually let herself moan out loud. Her husband moved slowly as to not bring attention to them, but she'd have to steal him away later, or wait until home because there was no way she could let him finish her here.

"Who's Mack dancing with?" Her voice came out louder than expected and Katie shifted in her seat slightly, finally fixing her neckline. "I think I've seen him before with Aaron, but I can't remember."

"He's a good friend of Aaron's, his best man actually, but he's also Ned's partner now. His name is Scott and he's a really sweet guy. Love at first sight or something, not that I can judge with how badly I fell for Ned when I was a preteen." Katie explained and ran her fingers through Asher's hair, watching the game he was playing on Scott's phone. "Left baby, go left."

"I won!" Asher said gleefully and Katie kissed his head.

"I know you did, good job." Katie laughed and kissed his head.

"What I miss?" Ned slid into the chair next to her and she kissed him.

"Scott bribed Ash with his phone to steal Mack, and those two are gross and think I don't know what they're doing." She explained as Jim straightened and slid his hand away with a smirk.

"So you two can, but we can't?" Jim laughed.

"I'm gonna go dance with Ash," Katie said adjusting her dress again as she stood up. "Come on baby."

Ash set the phone down and ran out to the floor with her, dancing to the upbeat music happily, joining Lana, Emma, Mackenzie and Scott's little circle. Ned joined quickly after fixing his shirt, leaving Melinda and Jim to watch, enjoying their bliss before sneaking off to have their private time together.
