A/N: Not much to say before this chapter. I do have some things planned as far as other stories are concerned, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
I own nothing in this chapter.
Shoutout to my good friend Galaxina-the-Seedrian for suggesting and helping me with part of this chapter. Love ya girl!
Phineas sat on a chair the Emperor had his guard pull up for him. Neither of the two paid much attention to the other. Phineas couldn't help but twiddle his thumbs. What could he do? He knew he had to get out of there, but how was he going to do it? The Emperor's chambers were heavily guarded, and Phineas couldn't make any sudden movements. The Emperor could easily stop him. He could feel the Emperor's connection to the Dark Side of the Force. It was powerful, and therefore he was dangerous and ought not to be messed with. Phineas swallowed nervously as he recalled his attitude with the Emperor. He counted himself lucky that the Emperor didn't shock him after that. If only he wasn't in the room, then maybe Phineas could find a way to outsmart the guards. With a sigh of boredom, Phineas sunk into his chair. At least he was too smart for any of the Emperor's mind tricks...mind tricks...that's it!
Phineas looked at the guards and back to the Emperor. Good, he was still not paying him any mind. Phineas looked around to make sure it was safe, and then he looked at the guard closest to him.
"You will take me over to the Emperor," Phineas said, closing his eyes and focusing hard, "and you will suggest escorting me to a more impenetrable cell."
The guard turned to the boy, and Phineas feared maybe he didn't do it right. Luckily, the guard did exactly as ordered. He grabbed Phineas' arm, and pulled him over to the Emperor. Palpatine looked at the boy and the guard in disgust.
"What is it now," Palpatine groaned, "I told you to watch the boy."
"About that, sir," the guard said, "I believe we should transport the boy to a more impenetrable cell."
Phineas pretended to struggle and glare. Palpatine glowered at the boy, and he shrugged.
"Very well, take the boy to the detention center cell block number 16," the Emperor ordered, and he looked Phineas dead in the eyes, "and just so you know, boy, you may have impressed me earlier with your wits. However, I am not as forgiving as I appear. Consider that a warning not to sass me again, you little brat."
Phineas felt a chill down his spine, and he swallowed nervously, heeding the Emperor's warning.
"Get him out of my sight," Palpatine sneered, and he quickly turned his back to the boy as the guard shoved Phineas away.
Phineas mentally celebrated his victory, but it wasn't quite over yet.
Elsewhere in the galaxy, aboard a Rebel starship, Candace, Buford and Baljeet waited in their quarters for word of the Chihuahua's return or anything about it. Candace couldn't help but feel guilty. If she hadn't gotten captured, this wouldn't have happened. Phineas wouldn't be on his way who knows where with a maniac bent on his destruction or corruption. Isabella, Ferb and Perry wouldn't be on their way to rescue him with no contact whatsoever. Candace felt a knot in her stomach as she thought about her little brother.
"Do not, worry, Candace," Baljeet consoled, "I am sure the pilot is on her way back with Phineas as we speak. There is probably just...bad service, so they cannot send a clear transmission."
Candace gave a small smile, "Thanks, Baljeet, but...I have a bad feeling we aren't that lucky. Ugh, if I hadn't gotten captured, none of this would have happened!"
"Yeah, you ain't wrong," Buford replied nonchalantly.
Baljeet glared at Buford, "You are not helping."
Buford shrugged, "Eh, never said I was trying to."
Baljeet couldn't argue with that unfortunately. He looked at Candace, and he worried. Since day one he'd been questioning his role as a stormtrooper and questioning Candace's true motives for joining the Empire. She never seemed like the other troopers. They became quick friends, being some of the youngest stormtroopers in the Empire. Their best bet from the beginning was to stick together. However, never once had Baljeet seen a day go by where Candace showed...concern for someone so deeply. She'd always been driven by her determination to bust Rebels. Baljeet did and didn't like to see this new side of Candace. He liked it because it made her seem more human. He didn't like it because he could tell Candace was hurting with all this worry. With a sigh, he just took a seat next to Candace.
"I truly do not know what will happen to Phineas," Baljeet admitted, "However, I am a firm believer that he will think of something. That Jedi will not go down without a fight."
Candace smiled, "Thanks, Baljeet. You're right. Phineas will be fine. If he's anything like me, his determination will keep him going."
The door opened, and one of the Fire Star Girls-Gretchen to be exact-walked in. She was aware of the situation, but she had other things on her mind.
"Hey, uh, they're having a big meeting soon. All passengers required," she informed, "They say it's really urgent too."
"Okay," Candace nodded, "they haven't...heard from the Chihuahua yet?"
Gretchen shook her head, "I'm sorry, the Chihuahua hasn't responded."
Candace's heart sunk, but she brushed it off since they needed to attend this meeting. She could only hope it was good news...but if it was urgent...probably not.
Phineas walked as the guard shoved him. Luckily the mind trick he used wasn't so strong it was noticeable when he released the guard from it. Even more lucky, the guard wasn't too smart to overthink what just happened. He just continued to take Phineas to the detention center. Observing his surroundings, Phineas could spot a few things that could aid in his escape. It wasn't long before Phineas had his plan.
He stopped, "Hey, uh, I need to use the bathroom."
"What? No way, this is a trick," the guard argued, "you can just wait until we get to your cell."
"I really can't, and do you really wanna have to clean up an accident and explain to the Emperor why his new Sith smells so bad?" Phineas furrowed his eyebrows.
With a roll of his eyes, the guard changed his direction, "Fine, but make it quick."
"I'm gonna need you to remove my restraints," Phineas explained, "so I can wipe properly."
Bingo, the restraints were off, and it was time.
"Thanks," Phineas smiled, and he sprung to action.
He ran as fast as his little legs could carry him, dodging incoming blasters.
"Get back here! You Rebel scum!" the guard shouted, and other troopers began to shoot at him.
Phineas slipped under and jumped over troopers, dodging their bullets. My oh my was he thankful their aim was terrible. He rounded the corner passing by some others.
"Stop that boy!" the guard shouted at the two troopers lounging about.
"Relax, it's a dead end," one of them replied.
"The escape pods are that way!" the guard argued.
"Dude, it's only the cargo escape pods. Not big enough for humans," the other lounging trooper retorted.
"Oh, good point. It's not like the kid is small enough to fit in them," the guard replied, "dead end for that kid."
The troopers and the guard laughed, and there was a moment of silence as it dawned on them...Phineas was small.
"Uh oh," they said in unison and they headed down the hallway.
Phineas ran into a pod, and he opened it up. He knew he didn't have time to pick a location. This was confirmed when a blast nearly hit his head.
"Stop right there!" a trooper shouted, and they ran to him.
Phineas panicked, and he hit the launch button before he could get into a safe position. The pod launched, closing him off from the troopers, however the pressure of the launch jerked Phineas back so hard that he hit his head. Instant knockout. Phineas lay unconscious in the pod as it flew through space to its destination. He did it...he escaped. That's what mattered most. He could just find a way to contact the Chihuahua when he lands...right?
A/N: okay...maybe a little OOC for Phineas to use the bathroom to help him escape but...how else was he gonna get the restraints off. If the troopers seem too...incompetent, well there's a reason for that. One, it's the PnF Star Wars universe...the troopers weren't exactly 'tough and firm' in that movie...I mean...were they really all that focused and smart in the original trilogy to begin with? Anyway I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
