Grandpa is happy. Within a week Joey arrives. And today he can take Yugi home, and with a surprise for his little grandson But that is for a little later To find out.
Yugi was in the hospital for a total of five weeks, and yesterday they told him Yugi's body accepted the new lung and Yugi is finally released.
Atem also got the clear to go home, he is released from his crutches and his strength is almost back completely what allows him to recover home further.
His grandmother however told him yesterday grandpa would take him home. Atem of course was a bit disappointed by this, but he understands his grandmother only can go outside when the store closes, and that's mostly during the evening hours.
Solomon is also happy Yugi's hair is growing fast to his natural way, it's still shorter than it used to be, but you can hardly see it was cut in a terrible way, and he was glad Atem made sure Yugi would get his own look back very soon.
Finally in the car, grandpa drives of to the store his now girlfriend owns and has a house above to live comfortable in. yes Solomon and Amara are an item much too both boys excitement. Solomon explains the boys he will first drive Atem home and then he and Yugi continue their journey to their new place.
The boys are a bit sad about the fact they won't be sharing the bedroom anymore together, and will see each other at school again. So they are surprised when Atem's grandmother shows both boys around and a second bed stands in Atem's bedroom. Yugi is most surprised he sees his stuff in the room and looks confused towards his grandfather.
"With us in a relationship, and you accepting it, and you two already attached to the hip, we decided to live together, we only don't have a third bedroom free so I hope you two don't mind sharing?" grandpa says with his happy eyes.
Both boys nod and give their grandparents a hug, happy they will see each other like they did in the hospital.
Standing on the airport Yugi is bouncing up and down, a carton board in his hands with Wheeler written on it. Grandpa promised Mister Wheeler to fetch him and his son Joey, and even offered to let Joey sleep with them until he found a place to settle. Mostly because the boys have allot of catch up to do. Mister Wheeler accepted this offer.
When the people get out the airplane, Yugi sees the blonde messy mob of hair from Joey and he run towards his friend catching him but is forced in a headlock by Joey and receives a noogie that messes his hair.
"Yugi? What happened with your hair?" Joey asks, but Yugi doesn't answer directly. "Later Joey." He only says and helps Mister Wheeler with his suitcase.
After they dropped Mister Wheeler off at his new work office, they go to the Egyptian store where he finally tells the story.
"Yeah I heard about that, dad wanted enrol me there but got a letter they needed to close down because allot of reasons." Joey says the moment Atem walks in tired from his therapy. To say Joey was stunned is maybe the least, and he could not wait till Anzu and Honda would arrive.
And a month later the same happened, luckily now with Yugi's hair to their original length, it took Atem every Saturday morning time to tame Yugi's hair back to its antigravity star like it was before. Only a few weeks in the hospital, and after that a few more months of snipping and cutting.
With a professional barber he made a good price although he did cut Yugi for free, if they decided he was getting paid, he would accept the money, he gave the lawyer who was dealing Yugi's case the note with the prices he and the professional barber made together approved for a kid his age.
In the month between Joey's arrival and the arrival of Anzu and Honda, Yugi's old school needed to come in front of court, they needed to close because of the awful gross circumstances while they had enough money to provide for a cleaner, rats and other vermin made the school unapproved for healthy teaching, the school was in a terrible condition and needed to be stripped down and rebuild with a fresh start.
Also the fact most teachers weren't classified to be a fully licensed teacher, those needed to pay a thousand dollar each to the state and look for a job they were already classified to or take a schooling to look for another job that wasn't the teaching sector.
The judge also wasn't pleased of the anti-bullying support each school was provided with and that they were the only school who didn't do anything with that program. It coasted the school a thousands dollar to the state.
Because Yugi was still recovering from his injuries, he wasn't able to go into court, but the three boys were glued to the television each time grandpa and grandma went to look for it in real time.
The school got public humiliation and a claim for thousands of dollars to ALL the students which reported bad treatment before Yugi got hospitalised and went to the police. Yugi of course belonged to one of those students and was claimed to be the one with the most injuries.
As for Yugi's bullies? Well, the obvious leader in the group needed to pay for Yugi's full medical treatment, she also needed to do community service for at least three hours a day for the next three months next to the homework an the classes in the boarding school for troubled girls she was sent to.
Her goons also got the same amount of community service, and also were send to a boarding school that belonged to their gender, and although they didn't cut Yugi's hair, they needed to pay Atem for the haircuts he needed to give Yugi in order to grow his hair back to normal. Atem who did cut Yugi for free gave half of the money to Yugi for later savings because Yugi was the real victim, he only helped.
Even though Yugi gave permission to show the pictures from which they had taken of the abuse, when he saw them he walked away, he could not realise he was in that kind of a bad shape, it made him sick and did send him in a state of panic. Atem followed him and gave Yugi comfort, when Joey called the pictures of Yugi were gone the two returned.
The teacher who treated and did cut Yugi and his hair horrible was arrested and sentence for power-abuse, and physical-abuse to not only Yugi, but all his students, he got 10 year in jail without parole, his teachers license was withdrawn and he was never again allowed to take a job interview in to the teaching field, he even wasn't allowed to see his children's performances in plays, and by the time he got grandchildren, even then he wasn't allowed to enter school grounds.
Even he got serious public humiliation especially when they brought him out and he pissed and shit his white dress pants in front of the cameras. The three boys were rolling on the floor from laughter when that happened.
Atem knew it the moment Anzu and Honda arrived in America, there would be rivalry between her and Yugi, and the both of them are showing a form of jealousy he never saw beforehand, especially not with Yugi.
Even Joey and Honda see what is happening between the two friends who are currently trying their hardest to get Atem's attention. But have agreed not to interfere until it will get seriously out of hand.
They went to the movie, Atem sits at the outside of the line and there is one seat empty between him and Honda, next to Honda there are two more seats empty, and it is obviously Yugi and Anzu are in a silent battle to see who get the opportunity to sit next to Atem.
Weren't it for Joey who forces them to the two seats next to Honda by claiming the chair next to Atem, and even there the two are having a silent battle who goes sit next to Honda in order to be close next to Atem. It's Anzu who finally gives in and sits at the other outside line.
She is a bit pissed because Yugi and Atem are already living together in the same house, but she can't blame them because it's is Atem's grandmother who invited Yugi and his grandpa in her house, they even share the bedroom! So why does Yugi claim Atem so much while he is obviously into her! She can only think.
Yugi however is almost certain the older boy is obviously not into her and he is trying to protect Atem for her before she does a drastic move and kissing him without thinking and fearing of loosing her as friend, but he does admit himself, he finds Atem very attractive and the dreams he is having about how they would share the bed together can be pretty intense. Some of them are so intense Atem needed to wake him because he was moaning loudly what worried Atem, only to realise Yugi simply had a intense wet dream.
"Yugi you are drooling and the movie is most certain nothing to be drooling about. Are you okay?" Honda's voice is snapping him out of his space world.
"Yeah I'm fine, I think I spaced out there for a moment Honda, thanks for asking." Yugi replies wipes the drool of his face and sees the worried glint in Atem his eyes and the pout on his lips. Oh if he could only kiss those wonderful lips, taste how they taste, and feel how full and soft they are.
Yugi realises he is doing it again, shakes his head and tries to focus on the movie, wondering, how the hell could they pick this? It's a terrible chick flick. He looks to the other side and sees Anzu is enjoying the movie, but she obviously misses something or rather someone. A smirk crosses his face and he turns towards his other friends seeing they are also bored as hell.
Thank god he isn't alone in this.
The battle to get Atem is slowly going to a real fight. It's going on like this for the past month and Anzu and Yugi have now more arguments about who is sitting next to Atem, and when Yugi finally breaks down he runs out the classroom crying loudly about how she never wants him to have something for himself.
Joey, Honda and Atem are shocked, Yugi is as a gamer a true fighter, and for him giving up? This isn't right, Joey runs after Yugi while Atem decides this has gone long enough and he needs to interfere. "Anzu, I love you, but you must know, I'm not into you that way, I'm gay and only want to change that if the person I love turns suddenly into a girl. I'm sorry." He says and runs after Joey and Yugi.
Yugi locked himself into a toilet stall, and takes out the knife he bought himself when he came to America with his grandpa. He flicks it open and looks to the blade, he promised grandpa, grandma and the police lady not to do it again, but he feels desperate to do it since he and Anzu got into that battle.
He is tired and just wants to end it, because she won, he has chosen for her and not him. He forgives Anzu and is proud of how a worthy opponent she became into a game. He lost the game and is willing to pay with his own life, only than he can be with the pharaoh. Maybe then the constant headaches stop also when he has found something back inside his memory.
He cries, waging his chances, will he do it? Will he see the pharaoh again? And his mother? Or will he be sent to hell never to return again? He takes the risk and places the blade against his wrist when the door is banged open. Joey sees what he wants to do takes the blade closes it and puts it in his pants pocket.
"This isn't the answer Yugi, it never is and never will be!" joey shouts to his little friend when he feels a hand on his shoulder, he turns and when he sees Atem, he makes way.
Atem takes Yugi's hand and guides him to the mirror, forces him to look. "You promised them Yugi, why? Is it because you think I don't love you?" Yugi doesn't answer him, there are too many words he wants to say, but his he can't find the right one to spill. "Yugi, look in the mirror, what do you see? Try give me an answer to that." Atem urges.
Yugi looks, "he sees himself, but he sees also a boy who defiantly isn't himself, he took this game with Anzu way to serious, but is he willing to admit this himself? This boy in the mirror looks pale, his cheeks are hollow, his eyes are dull, and he just looks overall unhealthy. And for what? A crush who maybe isn't even gay?"
He didn't realise he said this outload until Atem speaks up. "I fell in love yes, but not with a girl, I fell in love with a boy, a boy who I became friends with very quickly, I didn't realise it at the time, but maybe… maybe I just need to show him my love, make an end to these fights, and hope this boy helps me find the biggest memory I lost two years ago." He says closing in on Yugi's lips and softly places them on his.
The boy in his arms melts in an instant spark are fighting to find their way, he was wrong Atem want's him, and while thinking this he opens his mouth and with his tongue he hopes Atem will go in on the invite. Atem of course doesn't hesitate and starts to explore the youngers mouth with much pleasure.
When they break free for the lack of air they suddenly collapse in a deep sleep, leaving Joey absolutely stunned if a kiss can really give this kind of reaction, kisses are dangerous! Reality however is, the boys are receiving the memory they both lost. Joey hurries off to get help, telling the nurse what happened and he needs to be calmed down by her after both Yugi and Atem are brought in her office.
The nurse notices both boys are fallen in a very deep sleep only not knowing it happened as a defence to comprehend the impact they receive from the memory. But knowing they are still recovering from their hospital stay she doesn't think the boys will wake up somewhere soon so decides to call their grandparents.
With a few men they help grandpa lay both boys in the car, and back home grandpa and grandma asking for neighbours to help them carry the boys into bed were the waiting begins till they wake up hopefully with their memory back.
It takes Atem two days to decide and wake up, but doesn't feel as rested as usual when he had a good night of sleep. However to restless to stay in bed he gets up, but before going downstairs and find his grandmother seeing Yugi in his own still deep slumber.
He walks over to the younger and strokes his cheek, calling out to him but doesn't get a reaction, even shaking him doesn't make Yugi wake up. Yugi is still progressing the memories.
Atem sits down on his bed to figure out what happened, he remembers Yugi and Anzu getting in a discussion, Yugi running out class crying, him kissing Yugi, and then during the kiss getting the memories back he had of ancient Egypt where he was a pharaoh, and his most favoured servant was this boy, only by the name Heba, a boy that looked an awful lot like Yugi. But with a darker skin.
He remembered how he kissed his servant when Heba confessed his love and was willing to leave the palace so he could concentrate on finding a wife and getting a heir for the throne, how he as then still prince refuses to let Heba go.
He remembered how Bakura attacked him the day of his coronation, and how he between all the stress he released Heba from his duties and they hastily got married. How Heba showed him in the bedroom that even a king can be forced down to submission. How Heba was killed in the process of him protecting his closest friend and husband, how their final kiss was so full of love, and when Heba died he worked his hardest to revenge the lost from his husband and sacrifices himself in order to protect Egypt.
Then he remembers how the kiss inside school brought this final piece of memory back to him.
He smiles knowing he can create his newfound life now as Yugi's partner. Getting up he walks to the bathroom for a potty break his bladder is dying to have right now. And wondering how long they were out of it.
When Atem returns Yugi slowly starts to stir awake from his slumber, Atem noticed it and walks over to Yugi's bed, Yugi opens his eyes and sees Atem sitting at the foot.
"Hello my pharaoh." Yugi says with scratchy voice. It makes Atem freeze, is he still remembering his days as being Heba? He wonders himself, but when he looks closely he sees the smirk and the mischief on the smaller his face.
"You little minx." Atem says with a laugh, bends forward and takes Yugi in a hug.
"Atem, I need to go or the bed ends wet." Yugi says which makes Atem loose Yugi, with crossed legs and hands covering his manhood he wobbles to the toilet and when he enters he can hear a very releasing moan escape Yugi's throat. Again, how long were we out of it? He wonders.
When Yugi returns they dress in simple sweatpants and a shirt, so when they return they only have to climb in bed.
They see their grandparents aren't in the living, so both boys walk down the stairs to see grandma sitting at the register and grandfather who is filling up the shells. Both boys see their grandparents have a worried look in their eyes, but as soon as the door cracks open and the boys step into the store, and seeing how Yugi hugs Atem and how Atem holds him close, they know the boys are going to be fine.
A few days have past and the boys stay at home in order to recover in peace. Honda and Joey already visited them, and are glad their friends don't dance around the other anymore but accept they are in love.
Anzu didn't show up yet which saddens Yugi, he wants to talk to her, apologise to her because he has won the heart from Atem, it irritates Joey and Honda till no end, so they storm out only to return half an hour later with Anzu.
Yugi is silent for a while, he doesn't know what to do, same goes for Anzu, and they only look at each other like they are having a silent battle all over again. Suddenly Yugi smiles, Anzu rans over and hugs her little friend. They both cry and forgive each other.
She has accepted her defeat, and the healing can start.
