She was flying. Her purple scales flashing occasionally under the moon light. She could almost hear there voices, devoid of emotion chanting to her to come with them. They were not there. They didn't know she was running. They would soon though, Hivewings knew things like that. They didn't care if you were the best Silkwing in all the land, if you went one toe out of line then they acted like you had committed the ultimate sin. Every Silkwing had there own reasons to hate the Hivewings. This was hers.

She felt the egg in her claws begin to slip, she caught it quickly. It reminded her of another reason she hated the Hivewings. They took her sister. Her wonderful sister who hadn't done a thing wrong was dead before her eyes leaving only an egg behind. Of course she couldn't just let it be shipped off to some random Silkwing. She had to take it. Of course the Hivewings didn't actually care if a Silkwing egg went missing but it was the principal of things. They would chase her down take the egg and lock her up.

She felt exhausted after so much flying. She had been flying for days and not once had she stopped and rest. You could only look at an egg so many times to get yourself motivated. It was only two more hours to the beach though. With one last glance at the silver egg beneath her she shot on.

She was headed to the distant kingdoms, the land Clearsight was from. The land that maybe didn't exist but it was her best shot. She vaguely wondered if there were other tribes, there probably were it would be odd if they in were all seer goddesses. A life like that could only be so interesting.

At long last she saw the shore. She felt a little hopeless looking at it. The ocean was vast how was she supposed to get there? The answer was obvious just pick a direction and go. West, for some reason everyone was quite insistent that the distant kingdoms were to the west.

She felt she was to tired to care. Oh well no one actually came down to beach shame that...

She woke up with a start. Where was she? Right egg, ocean, salvation. Time to get up. Without missing a beat. Without a single thought of doubt she started to fly.

Fly she did. She didn't allow herself to think. She couldn't lest she turn back. Occasionally she would spot an island. She wondered if she could just live on one. All alone forever. Save for the egg. No she couldn't do that, but it would be so easy.

She kept flying. It felt like her wings were going to fall into the ocean she was going in right after them. Some how, some way she finally got there. After two years or so. She made it the egg she was carrying looked just about ready to hatch.

The shores she had landed on had trees impossibly tall and old. She walked in exhausted. She just wanted to lie down and sleep. Her wish was granted when she felt a sting in her neck and she knew no more.
