Stepping out into the sunlight her hair showed gold instead of the usual blonde. Her skin, fair; her smile enhanced the room and a collection of "awes" were heard as a tear glided over her cheek. And she looked him. A sweet aura incased the room and everyone felt it, especially him. His eyes stayed on her and no one in the room mattered; all disappearing into the background. It was as if they faded into their own little world. She was all that mattered to him in that moment and he would give anything to keep her smiling.
She was nervous. Starting her life with the man she had grown to love immensely. His goofy look when he was cross about something; his uncanny ability to always make her smile after a fight over something stupid. She was genuinely happy and he was about to be hers. Her butterflies were becoming unbearable as she held his eyes, small flames behind them every time he looked at her. Her tears ran more as she walked closer wishing both her parents were here to see… meet the man she would soon be bound to. Knowing her father wouldn't approve but her mother comforting her and wishing her well on the journey she was about to embark on. An adventure that was both scary and exciting.
And there he was. She finally made it down the aisle. He extended his hand and with sweaty palms, she took it. His chuckle was like warmth incasing her. She blush a deep crimson as she adverted her eyes from his. A clearing of the throat got both of their attention and their world dissipated, bringing them back to the ceremony that was held for them.
"Glad you both could join us." Makarov said.
Natsu gave his usual defiant look toward the old man yelling, "Get on with it, grandpa. I swear by the time we get done, we'll be dead."
It was then the short man smacked him with the holy book telling him to shut up. More laughter erupted in the room, but hers was all he heard. Looking in her directions he watched her laugh and smiled as he thought of how he was honored to know such a woman as her. Seeing the look on Natsu's face, Makarov proceeded with "Dearly beloved…" A sight that most in the room never thought they would see. Natsu wasn't really the type to settle down but Lucy did something to him, invoked a type of passion they had never seen in him before she came around.
His hand never left hers and her clenching his hand every time she said the words "I do." She wanted to be his. His eyes stuck on her, his focus far away from what was actually going on. It was then she looked at him giggling, whispering, "Natsu… It's your turn." Straightening up, he looks forward; grinning at Makarov, he silently as for him to continue.
She gazed up at him remembering all of the adventures they had been on together. Since she was 17, he had been her backbone, helping her through all of her struggles. He never left her. When they would travel all over discovering new and exciting things, when she was looking for jobs constantly, when she was about to be kicked out of her apartment time and time again… he helped her. Even when she found out her father died. He was there. He comforted her when she had no one else to turn to. Tears streaming down her face when she heard him say the last "I do." It finally happened. They were married.
"Then by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife." Leaning in, giving both Lucy and Natsu the biggest smile they had ever seen from that man Makarov yelled, "You may kiss the bride!"
Natsu turned to Lucy, and slid his hand up her face, pulling her towards him he whispered, "You're stuck with me now."
And Lucy responded, "Like I would ever give you up." closing in the gap between them. He kissed with need and she matched him with as much fervor as he gave. Sparks flew as the roaring crowd of family and friends grew more and more audible to the two.
And with tears threatening to fall from Makarov's face, he bellowed, "I now present to you, Mr. and Mrs. Dragneel."
A/N:
I like moments. I feel as though you can definitely get a good feel of the people involved if you focus on moments. Comment or don't. I just hope you enjoy this moment in time.
I don't own Fairy Tail.
