It had been at least another month. No one had been counting the days, but if anyone was it'd probably be Beca or Aubrey. Beca had barely spoken to anyone, the only people she was currently talking to was Stacie, Aubrey, and Adam. She was to pissed off with Jesse after Amy had revealed what he said about the redhead when she left.

"You doin okay Shortstack?" Beca heard and looked over her shoulder. She didn't answer, usually never did. Amy frowned. Beca shook her head, making her way to the two chairs, placed in the middle of the street.

The chairs were placed there for those who'd be on watch during the night. The group had all come up with three people to watch each night. A good routine. One person would stand to watch the street while the other two would partner up and check the perimeter every once in awhile. If something were to come up, someone would call out a signal. During the day it was different though, usually someone would just be chilling out in the front so they could keep an eye out while others would keep themselves busy by doing other things.

"Listen, Beca, I know Ginga had a death wish, for whatever reason." Amy said with furrowed brows. "And that you loved her, but you can't let that stop you." She quickly added.

Beca looked at her. "We both know Chloe wasn't going to leave you back there. Don't let her death be worth nothing." Amy pushed. Beca's jaw clenched as a stray tear fell down her face. Amy brought a hand to Beca's shoulder. "Want me to get someone?" She asked. Beca's eyes squeezed shut. "Uh, no… I'm… I'd like to be alone for a bit." She sniffled. The tassie nodded and made her way to leave the tiny DJ to be alone. It probably wasn't the best idea, but she knew Beca wasn't going to talk anymore than that.

"She's so depressed." Amy sighed. "Amy." Aubrey deadpanned. "What?" Amy questioned cluelessly. Adam shook his head with furrowed brows. Amy couldn't be anymore blunt.

"She won't talk to me." Jesse sighed. "Hm, wonder why." Adam mumbled. Jesse looked at him. "You've got something to say to me?" Adam turned and got in his face. Despite Adam having the more… muscular build and pretty much towering over the Treble. "I wasn't even here for over a month and I saw you were a dick to Beca. Chloe was so much better for her and she wasn't even talking." Adam pointed.

Jesse scoffed. He shook his head and crossed his arms. "We all know you were trying to get into Chloe's pants. She's a slut, it probably happened the first week." Jesse shrugged.

Before anyone could even process it, Adam threw a hard punch straight to Jesse's jaw.

"Again?" Jesse mumbled, rubbing his jaw. "Don't act surprised." Adam seethed. Jesse looked at him before huffing. "Just watch, we're better off." He said before walking out of the room.

"What the hell happened to him? I get that he didn't like Chloe, but what the hell?" Aubrey questioned. Amy shrugged. Adam looked at them. "Maybe Beca didn't give him any like he was expecting." He said quietly. Aubrey bite her lip to keep from laughing while Amy hummed. "The sexual tension was more Bhloe than anything." The tasie commented. Adam only gave her a look of confusion.

"Hey Hobbit." Beca weakly looked up, finding Aubrey. Beca had been sitting in front of the treeline behind one of the houses, secretly hoping that Chloe would come back just fine. She had been doing it for a few hours every day since she'd gone. Everyone knew this. Oddly, it was always the same time of the day too. Around early sunset. No one knew why Beca went to sit there at that specific time, but she did.

"I uh, I found this on the counter a few weeks back. Kinda held onto it because I just… I couldn't believe she was…" Aubrey stopped and cleared her throat. "Anyways, I think you should have it." She weakly smiled.

Beca looked at the necklace before grabbing it. It was the very necklace she had gotten Chloe for her birthday in Beca's sophomore year. It had a little turtle pendant, a silver plated turtle with the shell colored sea blue. The two had gone to an aquarium early that year and that's when Beca found out the redhead's love for turtle's, not a day later after the trip she had gone out to get the necklace and held onto it for Chloe's birthday.

"I… I got her this for her birthday." She said quietly. "My sophomore year." Aubrey nodded. "Yeah, I remember. She was so happy. She kept telling me you got it for her for at least a week. Much to my disdain." She said with narrowed eyes.

Beca smiled at this as she stared at the piece of jewelry. "I was scared she wouldn't like it." She admitted. "She loved it." Aubrey assured. Beca's jaw clenched. "I loved her." She whimpered.

Aubrey nodded, squeezing her eyes shut to hold her tears back as she wrapped her arms around Beca and pulled her close. "I know." She breathed. "Fuck." The tiny brunette choked.

Aubrey tightened her grip around Beca who couldn't help but let herself fall apart in the blonde's arms. "I miss her too." Aubrey sighed as the tears escaped.

Soon enough Aubrey heard Beca sniffle. "Why do you always come over here at this time?" The blonde asked with wonder. Beca leaned her head against Aubrey's chest, looking towards the sunset that you could see clear along the street. "She loved the sunset." Aubrey smiled. "Ironically, she said even if the world breaks, the sunset will still be there." Beca sighed. Aubrey chuckled. "Cheesy bitch." Beca hummed with a lazy nod. "Yeah." She said quietly.

Aubrey looked at her, easily telling that the tiny brunette was beginning to fall asleep. Although, she didn't say anything. She just continued holding the DJ in her arms. Beca needed her, hell, she needed Beca. Chloe was their best friend and Chloe would want them to be there for each other, so that's what Aubrey's going to do. Be there. So, still holding Beca close, she just looked at the horizon before looking to the trees while the brunette fell asleep in her arms.

"Alright, who'd fixing dinner?" Flo questioned. "I say Jesse, he hasn't done it for a few weeks." Stacie crossed her arms.

Adam let out a breath as everyone agreed.

"Me and Beca will do it." No one had even heard the door open, let alone footsteps walk into the room. So looking over and finding Beca and Aubrey took them by surprise. Even more so, finding Aubrey with her arm wrapped around Beca's shoulder took them even more aback.

"Wow, um, are you sure?" Emily asked, more specifically looking at Beca. Beca nodded. Stacie looked at Aubrey with raised brows. "We got this." Aubrey assured. "Okay…" Stacie trailed off, making her way around the island. "Let me know if you need help." She said softly. Aubrey nodded with a smile as everyone walked out.

"Can you cut this?" Aubrey asked, holding out a cucumber. Beca grabbed it and walked to the island, setting it on the cutting board.

Beca grabbed the knife, bringing it to the cucumber only to stop.

"Hey." Beca smiled, walking up to Chloe who looked up. "Hey." The redhead smiled, pushing the cut up cucumber to the side before grabbing a tomato. "What's for dinner?" Beca asked. "Weren't you just on a date for three hours with Jesse?" Chloe asked with raised brows.

Beca shrugged. "We went to the movies after going on a walk around the local park for an hour." The tiny brunette caught the eyeroll Chloe did. "What?"

The redhead smiled and shook her head. "Nothing, I just… you've told him multiple times you don't like movies and he still tries. I don't get it." "We watch movies together." Beca pointed out with confusion. "I don't force you too, there's a difference." Chloe smirked.

"Don't get so smug Beale." Beca chuckled. "Yeah? What're you going to do about it?" Chloe teased. Beca looked at her before looking to the lettuce that sat in a bowl waiting to be used. Chloe's eyes narrowed as Beca just smiled and looked back to her. "You throw any of this food, you're stuck making dinner." Chloe pointed. Beca shook her head, slightly smirking. "Whatever you say Red." She said before picking up a small tomato and throwing it at the redhead, hitting her right in the nose.

"Mitchell… get out of my kitchen." Chloe pointed making Beca chuckle.

Beca weakly smiled, looking at the cut up cucumber. Suddenly feeling a hand on her shoulder, she looked over just to find Aubrey gently smiling. "You alright?" "Yeah, I… I think I will be." Beca said quietly. Aubrey nodded. "Good."

"Mm, this is amazing." Benji smiled, pointing at his salad. Beca shrugged, holding back a smile. "It could be better." Jesse commented. Beca looked at him before clearing her throat. "Jesse, you couldn't be anymore of an asshole could you?" She asked quietly. Jesse looked at her with raised brows. "Don't say shit to me for weeks and that's the first thing I get from you." He mumbled.

Beca's jaw clenched as she looked at her food.

Jesse rolled his eyes at her, looking away only to catch Adam's eye, finding the guy glaring at him. "What?" He questioned. Adam shook his head, taking a bite of his food.

"Why haven't you broken up with him?" Stacie whispered. Beca looked up at her before shaking her head. "I could've been with Chloe." She mumbled. Stacie's brows furrowed with confusion. "I hate myself." The tiny brunette added.

"Beca." Stacie said, taken aback. Beca stayed quiet, running her hands through her hair. After a moment she cleared her throat and stood up. "I need a moment." She decided, walking away from the table.

"Would you like some company?" Jesse asked. "Not from you." Beca mumbled. When Jesse stood up, Benji stopped him. "Don't."

Beca sighed, leaning against a tree. Currently she was whittling a spear. The gun she had was good for distance, but lately it just… it was messing with her mind. She wanted to have something for close distance, something she could have to use as more of a balance… if that makes sense. Something to keep her more sane than using a gun every day.

Beca huffed, looking up at the sky for a moment only to find the moon shining with the stars gleaming.

"What're you doing out here?" Beca asked with confusion, sitting down next to the redhead who sat on the porch of the Bella house. Chloe shrugged. "Watching the stars."

Beca looked up. "I've always liked the constellations. The sunset's always there, but then you have the night and there's the stars. They'll never disappear, even if you can't see them." Chloe smiled.

"You're corny." Beca commented with a small smile. "You have your moments too." Chloe nudged. Beca only hummed in response. "We both know I like living for the moment and a lot of it is doing crazy… unusual things with the Bellas." The two chuckled as Chloe paused and looked at the tiny brunette. "But it's always nice to have something like this. To get away from what is crazy. As much as I love them." Chloe smirked. Beca nodded, a smile still resting on her face.

"So, you have a favorite constellation dork?" Beca poked. Chloe smiled and pointed. "Pegasus." She answered before resting her head onto Beca's shoulder just to start explaining the story of Perseus cutting off Medusa's head and all that good stuff. Beca listened closely to ever word. Nights like this with the redhead were always Beca's favorite. Always nice and easy conversations, no yelling Bellas. The two could talk about literally anything without getting interrupted.

"What's your favorite?" Beca shook her head with furrowed brows. "I don't-."

Beca's thoughts were cut off with the sound of a loud growl, causing her to jump. Looking up, she found a Rotter stumbling right at her. Just in time, she ducked and rounded it, pushing it to the ground just to drop to one knee and drive her knife into its head.

Her brows furrowed with confusion. This rotter was the first rotter she'd seen since the last run she'd went on. That run having been with Chloe and Stacie. Hell, there were barely any rotters around the area. They certainly never just stumbled up to you like this either. Beca was quiet, she was in her own world so why did the creature just… waltz on up to her? She stared at it for a moment before looking to the treeline only for her heart to drop. "Fuck." She breathed.
