Storm Chaser

Chapter 49

Hello everyone and welcome back to another chapter of our story. We are getting closer to the end of this tale. But there's a little bit more to do…

Last time, Ron was tasked by Yamanouchi with infiltrating an old 'friend' of his from his Team Possible Days, because Kim's been tasked by GJ to spring an unannounced inspection on him, per the Post-Graduation Agreement between the UN and the Reformed Super Villains. While Kim's Unit is 'packing light', Ron's been informed of the distinct possibility that Sheldon was behind the nuke fracas in China…and has been given option of going 'Weapons Free' here. And in a 'While you are there…' aside, Yori and Hiro are still guiding the Chosen One to reconsider his reluctance to reconnect with a love connection broken by an unknown mental link gone sideways between them.

As Ron's finding his hole in the darkness to wait for the fireworks to start, Kim's brought her Team to Fort Drum as a staging area. While Ron's wedged between I-Beams, Kim's running her group through the wringer before a night at a motel.

Before we go, we'd like to thank the following for hanging in there and shouting out at us for each chapter along the way…or for taking so darn long to get here…RL doesn't like plans, ya know? So, thanks to the following: Sentinel103, Uberscribbler, Jimmy1201, , Randy the Guest, ajw1970, Bobtrumpet, TiberiumSnow and Alulain P, thank you one and all!

Newton Falls, New York:

Silently, the midnight-black shadow scaled the steel I-beam up to the steel cross-beams that supported the utilities and the mostly flat roof in the darkened 'warehouse'. Quietly, he worked his way to an even darker corner of the seemingly unused structure, before the knife he removed from his belt's scabbard morphed into a lanyard he used to anchor himself via his body harness to a column in a secluded corner of the building. Once secure, he relaxed and settled in for a long, uncomfortable night ahead for him. Something, he concluded would be his best shot at covertly infiltrating this site during a lull in personnel trekking through, near sundown.

Occasionally, he would peer slightly as a guard walked by below him using a flashlight to navigate the gloom of the night.

The blond's eyes opened slightly to glance at his watch upon hearing some men speaking. "The boss wants total security today, guys. We have a shipment going out and we don't need any screwups."

"Where's this one going, Marcus?"

"I don't know for sure…but scuttlebutt has it that we might be trying to reconstitute our operations in Asia. All I do know is that it is important to our future plans, so make sure you're locked and loaded…Oh, and just so you know, remember Joe Peterson?"

"The guard on Days?", one of the others inquired.

"Yeah, he didn't come back from his shift yesterday. He caught someone snooping around on the back forty and was going to make sure the guy disappeared." His audience chuckled before 'Marcus' continued, "Something might have happened to him, so we might be compromised, so be alert."

"What do you mean 'happened'? He's a merc like me. He's vicious and always armed. I've had to spar him in the gym and I'm a Second Degree in more than one style.", the other guy responded as he rolled up a sleeve to show a nasty scar, "I got this a year ago from that pig-stabber of his."

Shrugging, 'Marcus' frowned, "Maybe he's on a bender…"

One of the others replied, "Not on duty, Joe was a pro. Sure, he would unwind like the rest of us, but not on duty."

One of the others chimed in, "Yeah, I remember a while back, when they made that lab blow up? Joe was the one who broke that German professor's bones. Almost all of them."

"I heard rumors…Joe was a real sadist doing that shit. I guess that proves it."

"Well man that's not all, the guy, down in the control room that watched it go when we set that lab to go boom, told me that the old man, himself, pushed the button. He set it off 'cause there was this dude checking it out."

"What happened to that guy?", another asked as he raised a cup of coffee to take a sip.

Shrugging, "I dunno, probably a crispy critter…but who cares, right?"

"Yeah right. Anyway, Joe and I came up here with the boss and we were there when that crate came in a few years ago."

"Crate?", one inquired.

"Yeah you guys heard about it, I'm sure. The crate was filled with dissected members of our Japan Operation. Joe and I were at the warehouse and called the boss in.", Marcus explained, totally unaware that quite near the group was a very interested listener, "It had a card in it that had a weird picture on it."

One guy inquired, "What did it look like?"

"Like a weird looking 'M'."

XX

Ron's eyes narrowed as he brought up a memory, 'So, it looks like these clowns are with the same group I had that run in with…Well, this just got a lot more interesting…But Kim and GJ might be walking into something that might go sideways. I wish I had others here with me on this one.'

The Mystical Monkey Master slipped into a light trance and projected out, (Sensei, can you hear me?)

After waiting a few moments, the former Middleton Mad Dog decided he didn't have the time to be somewhat out of the loop and disconnected himself and began to meditate to keep his anger in check, hoping that he wouldn't have to reveal himself and stay incognito.

XXX

Fort Drum:

Kim glanced over her detachment, "Wade and I will stay here and guard the weapons, the rest of you get a good breakfast. Be back here in forty-five minutes to check and clean your weapons while Wade and I eat. The Officer's Club is open and waiting for you to show up. And make sure you have all the ammo that you are authorized for, since we do not know what we are walking into. Next update is in two hours. Dismissed. Now move it."

After the team left, Wade asked Kim, "You ready for this, boss?"

"I suppose, Wade…If Sheldon Director is dirty, we might get lucky this time since we just checked him." Then a thoughtful frown, "And we'd better recheck our own weapons and ammo just in case this doesn't go as planned."

"Yeah, we could Kim and we really should get our toys out. I really don't like the feel about this…", he cringed slightly. Shrugging, "Maybe it's the nerves acting up."

Smirking fondly, "Your weirdar might be closer to the target than mine, Wade.", she patted him on his shoulder. "Just make sure you have all your body armor on. Now, you did say the specs on the new stuff is way better than the old, so I don't want to lose a friend. And Uroki would never forgive me."

X

An hour later:

Two GJ Agents, in full body armor, sat at their table in the 'O' Club with their breakfasts of bacon, eggs and pancakes. Wade chuckled, "At least if this is our last meal it's a good one."

"Breakfast as a last meal Wade? I'd rather have a candlelight dinner followed by a night of passionate romance with Ron.", the former teen heroine giggled as officers on other tables glanced over at them, and tried to get a 'read' off of the uniforms and body armor they were unfamiliar with, to figure out who they were and where they were from.

A Major rose from his seat and walked to the table where Wade and Kim were sitting, "Ah, my name is Major Clarence Hood. Could you tell me what Unit you belong to? I am, uh, not familiar with the uniform."

"Agent Possible and Agent Load, Major. Please join us.", Kim offered.

The African-American officer half-smiled as he accepted the offer and took an unoccupied chair. There were extra clean cups on the table. Kim picked up a cup and turned it over and asked, "Leaded or unleaded?"

"Regular and thanks Agent Possible. You with the group that came in last night?"

Wade chuckled, "Kim is the CO of the Detail, Major."

The Officer inquired further, "What is your organization, Agent? I know most uniforms and I don't think that I have run across yours before. I am the Tenth Mountain Division's G2 and am somewhat familiar with what militaries use."

Kim leaned in and lowered her voice, "Global Justice, Sir."

"Global Justice?"

"Yes Sir. It is the law enforcement arm of the UN. We are here to conduct an unannounced inspection of a facility near here to make sure the owner is abiding by the statutes of his parole…He was a former techno villain who, in the past, had made several attempts to take over the world. But supposedly has changed his ways after the invasion of two thousand and seven."

"Is this a military matter, Ma'am? If so, I must inform you that conducting Ops on American soil…"

Kim pulled out several documents and handed them over, "General Morgan is in the loop on this action, do you recognize his signature and that of his Exec, Major?"

The Division G2 scanned the document, then nodded, "Is there any assistance you require Agent Possible?"

The auburn-haired Global Justice Agent shook her head, "My people have been trained extensively to perform this action Major, so thank you, but we have it covered."

"I understand Miss Possible, I can have a fully armed battalion here ready to head out in thirty minutes.", Hood offered. [Nah…She don't know it yet, but she's got a mystically powered Ninja Strike Team of One, who'll do just fine…A/N-CB73]

Kim sighed, "We don't want to cause any widespread noise about this, the less people who know the better. We do not want them knowing, however. This is a surprise visit. If I show up on their doorstep with five hundred armed guys behind me it will send the wrong message and may lead to a major confrontation which none of us want. We are at the 'Trust but Verify' stage with the leader of this group and some others after all these years."

Major Hood nodded, as he understood operational security. He handed Kim a card from his pants pocket, "My cell, you call it I will answer even if I'm in the latrine and I'll have a Strike Group in the air in ten minutes that could deliver a world of hurt on anything up to a Brigade-sized armed force. Our people have just trained up to head to Afghanistan and are itching for a fight."

Wade's eye twitched. Having been around action from when he was a pre-teen, he was anxious at having hostile actions occur on his watch, unless needed. "Thank you, Sir, but I think we have this covered…", he tried to gently have the Major 'stand down' his offer.

Shaking his head, his smile tired, "Nonetheless, I will have two companies on standby, armed and ready to go. If needed we can be on site in thirty minutes from a distress call from you.", he told Kim and Wade.

Kim shook her head with a grin, "Thank you for the offer Major, but I am confident that my team has been trained to do this and we will be carrying firearms just to be on the safe side."

The Major also grinned, "Yes Ma'am, I understand that, but my people will be ready to drop in if needed…for safety of course. Now, if you don't want Regular Army, I can have the National Guard boys who are our training partners put on standby. We have a whole Battalion that has just returned from Afghanistan and we were about to release them from their year tour."

Kim sighed, "Okay Major, you drive a tough bargain. I'll take the regular guys, but I won't call unless I absolutely require them."

"Good then, when do you move out?"

Kim looked at her watch and said, "O eight thirty, Major. Wade and I have to get moving."

Both former members of Team Possible finished their coffee and rose from the table.

X

Two agents handed over Wade's and Kim's firearms as they arrived where their Detail awaited their leaders' return.

"Line up!", Kim yelled out to stop all talk and to get them mentally ready.

The Senior Agent, subordinate to Kim, quickly turned around for a headcount. Then turned back around to the red-haired commander, "Ma'am all present and accounted for."

Kim nodded, "Does everyone have their body armor and weapons?"

"YES MA'AM!", was the snappy comeback.

"Full ammo load out?"

"YES MA'AM!", again was the response.

"Radios on with backup batteries and other electronic devices?"

"YES MA'AM!"

At this point four APCs pulled up behind Kim. She glanced over her shoulder as the Major motioned for her to come to him as he got out of the lead Scorpion.

Kim did as he requested, "Major?"

"Agent Possible, use these vehicles, they will allow you to make a hasty retreat if you find yourself in danger.", he advised.

The former teen hero thought for a moment and then nodded, extending a hand to him, "Thank you Major…"

Grasping her hand to shake, "They can pull away after you disembark and maintain an over-watch of your position. I will be in communications in case you need my 'Ready people' to engage.", he informed her, "At the worst they can get you out of trouble. Also, as I don't have the machine guns and grenade launchers mounted on them, they don't look menacing.", the Army Officer added to sweeten the offer. The Major had a bad feeling about this mission and he was following his gut instinct to make sure the Global Justice Agents were as safe as he could make it.

What he didn't mention was that the 'Ready' people were already locked and loaded, or they would be when his Comms received a radio message from the lead APC that they were inside the target compound. He had seen too many missions go sideways from a lack of protection and planning. Also…felt he owed it to the auburn-haired former teen hero that had saved some of his family members from a flash flood ten years earlier. Though a bit unorthodox with his returning the favor, he wanted to make sure she was as safe as he could make it for her.

Of course, he'd never tell her that.

"Don't mention it Ma'am, I just want to make sure your team is as safe as I can make it.", he saluted her and then walked away.

With a half-smile, as Kim was planning on taking autos GJ had rented, the former heroine turned back to her people to tell them to load up. [Which was a good call. Waco comes to mind here…The ATF raided a compound where those inside the Compound knew they were coming and they knew those in the Compound were waiting for them…But their Site CO had them cross a huge open field, with only sidearms to counter long guns, sidearms and a few heavy weapons…Pickett's Charge, anyone? The shooting didn't start until the Agents hit the Compound…It was ugly. Many of the ATF on that raid were from where I live, too. So, if Carruthers survived this Raid…Kim and Betty should tell her to shut the fuck up about going into a potential Hot Zone, packing…It's part of her fucking job…And that's my two cents on a soapbox moment…A/N CB73]

Miami:

The African-American fashionista's eyes fluttered open, then slyly took in her surroundings, "I hope you're all rested up boyfriend, 'cause 'Nique is coming to town to rock your house, baby boy.", she mumbled evilly. Then she felt the flaps partially lower on the airplane as it started to descend.

"Hey Monique.", Nathan called out as he saw her at the baggage claim turnstile.

The longtime friend of Kim Possible turned to the meteorology student, waved and then held out her arms to signal him that she wanted a massive hug. The hopefully soon-to-be PhD gladly complied with the request, "How was your flight Moni?"

"I hate early check-ins, but glad I'm here."

"Yeah, traveling with Kaminsky is a lot better because he flies on business jets. Talk about luxury.", Nate chuckled.

"You mentioned that I wouldn't be able to meet him, why?"

"He flies with the Hurricane Hunters and they wanted him there for some sort of meeting. The season is coming up and they wanted everyone to fly in to make the briefing.", Nathan explained.

"Too bad, I did want to meet him to see if he would be a good fit for Kim…"

"I thought she was still gaga over her high school sweetheart. So, did Kim finally come to her senses?"

Monique reached for her bag as it got to her, as Nathan grabbed the designer luggage, "Not by a longshot. I tried to get her to come with me to see that guy you've told me about, but she had some sort of assignment she had to go to."

"Well,", Nathan chuckled, "even if the red head was able to come, Dean's not here anyway. So, we are left to our own devices. I got Kaminsky to spring for the series tickets to the ballpark before the Marlins go on the road. He had three…"

"There's only two of us Nate.", Monique pointed out.

"I know, I speak mathematics you know. I guess we'll have some extra room in the box seats."

"Well, let's get to your apartment and then we can see some of the sights.", the beautiful African-American woman enticed her guy.

Ft. Drum:

"Agent Possible, what is the destination that you wish to travel to.", Staff Sergeant Simony asked.

"It's a facility on the north part of Newton Falls, Sergeant. The coordinates are forty-four degrees, twelve minutes and fifty-three seconds north and seventy-four degrees fifty-nine minutes and twenty-four seconds west.", Kim gave the Army NCO the paper with the directions, "There is a picture of the building with the packet."

Tony Simony looked through the instructions, nodded after he wrote down what he needed and passed the data to the driver, who loaded it into his GPS unit. The Staff Sergeant then passed the information on to the other APC Commanders and their Drivers clustered behind his APC, before they returned to their APCs to wait for the signal to start them up. After a radioed 5-count, all Drivers started up their unarmed APCs and then raised the back ramps to seal the rear of the vehicles. Assured all were ready, he took up his position in the Commander's Hatch and motioned for the APCs to move out. His APC in the lead. [Ah, I still remember the routine for M-113 Track startup, back in the day…Good thing you didn't use Bradley's…they have their 25MM gun, which I'm not sure about total removal and then, there's that pesky Dragon Anti-tank weapon they carry…A/N CB73]

GJ:

Pausing his sip of coffee, "Well Doctor Director, you finally got Sheldon out of your hair and turned Possible onto him.", Top Agent Will Du observed.

Sighing, "Too true Will.", Betty's demeanor relaxed at Will's declaration. "I'm glad my part in this overlook of ex-super villains is over. Especially with Sheldon." Looking a bit vexed, "I sometimes let my personal feelings involving my brother, color how I look at him and his new organization." Now relaxed, "So, it's much better to distance myself from him.", she responded before she took a sip from her cup. Peering at a spot on her wall in concentration, "I just hope he has truly reformed himself as he has stated he has." Tensed, once again, "I do not trust him completely, you understand.", she rolled her cup in her hands a few times while in thought.

Cocking an eyebrow, "And your reason for turning Possible loose on him?"

A knowing look to her Number One Agent, "Kimberly has an adversarial past with Sheldon." Will snorted. "And between her and Wade, they should be able to see through any of his diversions, if there are any, since I am sure he was keeping things from me."

Over his mug, "That's why you checked on him at random times Ma'am?", Du asked as he stated what was scuttlebutt.

A short nod, "Even after all these years I still don't trust him to tell any of us the truth." Pausing, and shifting the gears of their 'conference', her voice lowered, "Now, on another note, you know the school that Agent Possible and Doctor Load attend in Japan during parts of their summers?" She had been advised that she was somewhat free to divulge this information at her discretion, as this was more highly classified than practically anything else in GJ.

Nodding in a way that said he was aware of something big to come of this, "I have been briefed on that situation Ma'am…What is this about?"

Peering at him, "You also know one of our Cadets is Japanese, correct?"

Pausing to remember this Cadet, "Yes Ma'am. Miss Uroki Fujicsu…I hope I pronounced that correctly.", Du replied after berating himself internally for not catching on about someone who should be so obvious to him. He had taken the time to memorize and review the files of nearly the entire most-recent roster of GJ Agents, Staff and Cadets.

"Close enough Will, but she will be our liaison with the Yamanouchi school since she is a graduate."

Realizing he had missed something related to a 'Ninja', which made his oversight even more obvious, "But Doctor Load is dating her…", he trailed off after putting this together, which was even more confusing to the Agent.

"He knows because they met there the first year they went.", Betty informed her 'Top Agent'. Then, after folding her hands on her desktop, she dropped a literal 'bomb' on him, "From all of this, Kimberly, Wade and Uroki, we have learned that Stoppable is one of Yamanouchi's assets."

Almost spitting out the sip he had taken, "Come on Doctor Director…", Du blurted out incredulously. "We both know he's got more money than abilities or sense, combined. But stating that is a little out there, don't you think?"

"I have spoken with two of the higher representatives of the combat martial arts school…They are aligned with the Nation of Japan and hold allegiance to them.", Betty declared to a gaping Agent. "Anyway, Stoppable is one of their Fixers…and they have more than a few of them. In fact, one of them eliminated Brotherson a while back.", Betty informed the stunned Du and then went to her desk drawer, pulled out a bottle and two glasses. After she filled each half way, she added water from a bottle and handed one to Will.

Her eye watching the drink swirl in her glass a few moments before she continued, "Remember, a few years ago, those reports we got from China about stolen nuclear warheads…and then their recovery?"

Holding his glass, but not yet imbibing, "Yes Ma'am.", he nodded. "If I remember correctly, the Chinese Security forces cleaned it all up…I remember the briefing."

Now looking to him, "Well, that's the story that the Chinese government, as well as most other governments of the region, want the rest of the world to know…The truth is a little more eye-opening.", her eye now twitching, "And annoying."

"What? They didn't recover the devices?", Will started to get out of his chair.

Sighing while rubbing her forehead, her other hand staying him to his chair, "No Will, the warheads were recovered and the group that stole them was mostly wiped out…By one man."

Du visibly relaxed, then snarked, "Good. Somebody needs to give him a medal…"

"We would if we knew where he was, and from what Yamanouchi told us, he was one of theirs…A blond haired, brown-eyed, freckled-faced American. This data was given to us by the Yamanouchi delegation Will, you were left out for a reason."

Will Du's eyes narrowed, "I understand Ma'am, I think…Errrr, by any chance, was it Stoppable?"

"Bingo, Will! You nailed it on the first try. Yes, it was Stoppable. However, Yamanouchi calls him their 'Chosen One'. For some reason. When I get the time, I will see if I can learn what that means from the only Yamanouchi Graduate we have in the training program…Maybe through Wade though, because of his romantic interest in her and her in him." Now pondering, "From what I've been able to gather, there may be more alums from that organization in many other places and positions than we currently realize."

Interrupting her musings over the potential of worldwide infiltration by a Ninja Academy, "If you say so Ma'am.", Will brought her back to his question. "Now back to the point, Ma'am, why through Doctor Load?"

Her eye narrowing, "Because we do not want her to be aware just how much knowledge we have in this matter in case her duty is more to Yamanouchi than to GJ.", Betty let this sink in before continuing. "Yamanouchi doesn't trust us completely…Or at a certain point in the past they didn't, which was one of the reasons why we had such a hard time of getting cooperation with them going all the way back to two thousand and seven…Then, considering all the crap that went on between the UN, GJ and various countries in Asia, if you remember, we were a little heavy-handed in believing that all trust should be placed in our hands."

Will Du thought for a moment before he responded, "I disagree with that assessment Ma'am, so I suggest that you just ask her outright, and have Doctor Load on hand, along with Agent Possible. If she has some past with them as you say it may convince her to relay to us what we need to know about them, and Stoppable, since he dropped off the radar all those years ago."

"I suppose you are right Will, so when Agent Possible's team returns, please have them come to my office and make sure Miss Uroki attends as well, would you?"

"Yes, Ma'am."

XXX

Newton Falls, New York:

"Ma'am this is the location that you gave me. Are you sure this is it?", Sergeant Simony inquired as Kim stared at three pictures for a moment.

Finally, the red head nodded and gave the Army NCO a thumbs up. "I'll radio when we are finished Sergeant, thanks for the ride."

Wade had already grabbed the door latch and yanked on it to unlock the hatch, then pushed on it and climbed out. He lowered his visor as he scanned around while other GJ members of the team began to file out. The former member of Team Possible pulled out a handheld device and aimed it at the building which appeared to be a large one-story warehouse. As he did so, he studied the device's screen while aimed at the building.

XX

Inside the facility:

Looking through his binoculars, "Mark, what do you make of that?", the junior security guard asked his superior.

Mark's field glasses now on the same view, "Jason, I don't like the look of it. They appear to be armed.", he ventured. Turning to his subordinate, near an internal secure phone, "Notify the Command Center, immediately! Those are military vehicles and I don't like what this could mean.", the older man ordered as he turned back to watch more people pile out of the six-wheeled Armored Personnel Carriers.

Nodding, "Yes sir. And you do know we have a shipment going out today, right?", Mark Jesson informed the older man as he grasped the phone and punched in a four-digit code on its keypad.

XX

Up in a dark corner, a shadow stretched and glanced at his watch, 'Where are those clowns?', he scoffed internally, 'This isn't how you conduct a surprise inspection.'

Twelve bays away, a section of lights came on, alerting the brown-eyed American as he noticed a group of seven men walking through that area.

XX

With a smile that she recognized as fake as the hand he offered to her, "Kim Possible,", the eye-patched middle-aged man greeted her. "What brings you to my facility?"

A glint in her eye, "Agent Possible, Mister Director.", Kim corrected the former villain and handed him her orders, "Surprise inspection as per the conditions of your agreement with the UN. I AM your newest headache. Since you are under my watch now I can guarantee you that inspections of all your facilities are going to be more common."

Stunned at the abrupt change to a routine he made full use of over his years of 'going straight', the former head of the WWEE stepped back, "But…we had no warning…"

Cutting him off, "Can it, Sheldon. I had a spa appointment and I'm not in the mood to have to reschedule. Seriously, it's a month wait to get in.", she turned to dismiss him. "Guys let's roll! We have a full inspection to do! AGENTS! MOVE IT!", Kim ordered her team.

Without a word the men and women of Global Justice entered the warehouse while Kim turned back to Sheldon, "What is the function of this building?"

"Miss…errrr Agent Possible, this location is merely a storage facility…"

At a step to her side, "For what?", Wade cut in as he slowly waved his device around, "How many floors to this building?"

Still taken aback at the whirlwind of change Kim brought to him, "We ah…have uh seven levels.", Sheldon Director replied as he caught a look at the display. He knew that he didn't want to be caught lying. Abruptly interjecting, "My men will escort your Agents.", to try to retain some control over what could be a disastrous situation for this new phase of his plans.

Bellowing to the assembling Agents, "Break up into three teams.", Kim ordered her people.

Wade whispered into the red head's ear, "Why three, Kim?"

Quietly, "I want them big enough so they can defend in numbers if they are attacked. Each group will search two floors.", Kim explained her reasoning. "I also want to leave two agents up here in the guard shack to have a secure path if we have to evac in a hurry. We're kind of thin there, but it's the best I can come up with our resources at hand.", she explained as she pointed to the female and male agent chosen to remain.

XX

Quietly moving closer to the gathering to listen in to the discussion, 'Hey KP, good to see you again.', the shadow mused.

XX

Two minutes later:

"My team, bottom two levels. Wade, your group take the next two levels up. Watkins, take the top two sublevels. We'll meet up here to do the last one. Move out.", Kim ordered as she grabbed Sheldon Director to show her the way.

Unseen by the Agents, Sheldon Director's 'Agent Alpha' stood at the back of the office where he waited until he was sure he wasn't being observed, then covertly pushed a button on the side of his wristwatch.

XX

Still up in the corner near the roof, the shadow lurked, listening, waiting and watching for anything which may harm the Agents in the course of their 'Inspection'. Picking up on movement at the other end of the warehouse, he then noticed several moving towards a stairway. The 'Yamanouchi Asset' recognized firearms when he saw them and under his breath, "Crap."

XX

Agent Watkins' team stopped and stepped through the door to the first sub-level and began to search.

XX

Wade Load's team did the same with the third sub-level.

XX

Agent Possible's group opened the door to a very busy room with video screens, with many images flitting across them. Pausing her group abruptly, Kim turned to Sheldon Director, "What the hell is this?", she angrily pointed into the room. "It looks just like the setup in your old organization…"

Suddenly shots rang out elsewhere in the complex, like what you'd hear in a shooting range, halting Kim from going further into the room. Taking the distraction, Sheldon ducked down and away as he made for a platform in the middle of the room.

XX

As the dark shadow moved quietly down the stairs, he heard the gunshots. His rapidly bluing eyes instinctively narrowed before he held out his right hand. An azure flash dimmed and a glowing katana appeared in his hand. Ron Stoppable then, literally, disappeared from the stairs and reappeared at a doorway to the room he heard the gunshots. Cautiously, he peeked around the doorjamb and into the room.

After sizing up the situation, he silently charged in, the katana tucked behind his back as he came up on shooters using military-grade assault rifles on the uniformed people across the room.

With a hiss in Japanese, (For the Mountain.), before a blue arc blurred and removed the head of one of the security force members. A red mist showering other member of Sheldon's forces gathered.

Before anyone even made note of the attack from behind, four more heads joined the first. Finally, one member reloading his weapon noticed something red on his sleeve and turned in time to see a blue katana flash before it pierced his left eye, continuing through the back of his head. With a simple twist and swipe, Ron killed another as 'grey matter' flew onto the remaining living security detail.

Ten seconds later:

All shooting ceased when the GJ Team realized they were the only ones firing at anything. In the lull, our hero called out while he scanned the now-deceased members of Sheldon's security detail, "You guys over there okay?"

Assured of the results of his handiwork, the Ninja flicked his wrist, flinging blood and gore from his Blade.

Across the room, one man raised his right hand and displayed a thumb's up to the Ninja. Ron sighed and sent the blade off with a flash. Seeing the disarmed man in black, Agent Gene Watkins, walked to him, "I don't know who you are, but thanks.", and extended a hand to shake. When they released their grips, "But we have other teams…"

"I know, I heard upstairs. The name is Stoppable. I'm your designated asshole today courtesy of Yamanouchi. Now take some members of your team and assist Doctor Load's, I will try to make sure that Possible's team is taken care of." Watkins nodded and turned to head out, but not before Ron gave Watkins a black business card with a drawing on it, then rushed off to the downstairs gunfire he heard.

Tucking the card into a secure pocket in his armor, "Carhart! Tend to the wounded. Davis! Get a signal out of this mess.", Watkins ordered members of this Team. "The guys at Drum are gonna want to know that we expended ammo here and that we are going to need medevac, medics or the coroner…And while you make contact, see if you can get the State Police involved too.

Bob Carhart nodded to Tony Davis as he bandaged Agent Crest's arm, "I have the freqs to make it happen. You make the call, and you,", he nodded to Watkins, "go get those bastards!"

Pausing at the door, the Ninja checked the Team one more time before heading downstairs, 'I hope to hell that Wade is gonna be okay.', he thought as he almost ran down the stairs without making a sound, 'Kim will skin me if anything happens to him.'

Ron's mind drifted a little as he heard the sounds of gunfire coming from the level he just passed. Then he took one long jump all the way down to the now quiet next level. 'The way this is going it's a wonder that Yori hasn't given Kim my phone number so she can harass me whenever she sees fit.' Then shaking his head, 'I just hope it doesn't go anymore sideways than it already has.'

Ft Drum:

"Move it! Get to your choppers on the double!", Lieutenant Creeps yelled at the top of his lungs as his platoon sprinted to the Blackhawks spooling up on the tarmac.

Pausing the LT, Major Hood shouted to his Junior Officer over the noise of the engines, "I'll be on the next flight out. You get there and assist the GJ people. And don't be afraid to stop whatever the hell happened over there."

"Yes Sir!"

Agent Carhart watched as the black clad figure continued past the doorway he and his team were about to enter. Their sidearms out and primed, the GJ team, by the numbers, entered, picking off the assailants who were engaging their teammates. Ten seconds later, Sheldon Director's squad of mercenaries, now caught in a crossfire, dropped their weapons and put their hands above their heads.

Stoppable's eyes flashed blue again as he raised his hand for the katana. Then he faded from view as he charged the firefight. (One side with automatic weapons, the other had sidearms…AN).

The former mascot found that he was in the crossfire of the sides shooting at each other, with several from GJ wounded, and splayed out on the floor. Invisible, he charged the fire, until he took a round to the thigh as he got to the first gunman. His pained scream came while his razor-sharp mystical blade whistled through the air as he shimmered into view, pausing people from both sides in the fight. Stunning them at his sudden appearance.

Kim's eyes widened as she saw a blue arc flash through two gunmen, both falling down ending up in multiple pieces. The arc then changed directions and removed the head from another. Using this as a distraction, Kim used the opportunity to put two rounds of her sidearm into one of Sheldon's goons who was turning his weapon to one of her men.

A high velocity shriek whizzed past the red head's ear, striking the wall behind her, before she heard from out on the floor of the large room, "I'll be back Possible and you won't be able to stop me!" Sheldon Director taunted her before he climbed into what she recognized as one of his escape rockets as it rose from under the floor.

Familiar with the routine of his, Kim screamed after the hatch sealed and the engines started up. "Get down and cover up!", before she dropped to the floor, taking a couple of shots at another henchman. (Although Jack was out of the game now, his Trademark designation was still bringing in royalties to his estate…AN-Larry)

Out of the corner or her eye, she caught a flicker as it seemed to leap onto the launching escape rocket from a catwalk above the room. When the flicker shimmered and settled into something solid, her jaw dropped in awe when the shimmer became a man clad entirely in black. Before the rockets fully ignited, she could make out the man growling, (For the Mountain!)

Her understanding of Japanese much better from all the trips she made to Yamanouchi for training, Kim gasped at hearing the phrase, but not knowing the meaning as she ducked behind a control panel to shield herself from the rocket's fire as it lifted off. The ceiling opened up with the man clinging to a handle on the rocket's side near the hatch Sheldon secured before launch.

Continuing to watch the slowly rising rocket with the man hanging from its side, the man produced a knife which then seemed to change into a slightly curved sword with a chiseled tip. After pausing for a second, the man then plunged the sword into the body of the rocket as it disappeared through the ceiling.

And the Shite's starting to fly in up-country New York…Though Kim went in a little bit overboard-paramilitary style and had the baddies on edge when the APCs rolled in, it did set a tone with Sheldon that this isn't his Sister's Inspection anymore…Ron's struck like Blue-Lightning and is going to help thin out the opposition so Kim, Wade and their Team have better odds of surviving this fire-fight.

As to those concerned about the Tenth Mountain violating Posse Comitatus in this tale, it's a different world in this KP Universe, where delays in dealing with Super Villains and Lowardian Invasions resulted in less strict laws than in real life...

Monique and Nathan are tossing back and forth about the roommate, while Betty and Will are kicked back with a little bit of 'Irish' with their coffee after disseminating some sensitive Intel about Ron before they wait for the report from this inspection that they feel ain't going to be like that of the usual surprise inspections.

Until next time!
