A/N: Random one-shot I thought of while I was on a ride. This takes place on the episode where the two were supposed to make their History report of the Norrisville Van Dam.
First fanfic I have ever made for this website, so some criticism would be appreciated! :D
I do not own Randy Cunningham 9th Grade Ninja (though I wish I did).
The day went by slowly as the seconds shown at the wall-clock ticked by with a soft click…
Last night, a robot monster that McFist had sent, caused a rampage in the middle of the night. Since Randy is the protector of Norrisville, he had to take matters into his own hands and defeat the said robot.
It would have been awesome to always go ninja out when he had the chance to, but when it comes to times when he had to in the middle of the night or on a bruce occasion, it's just not as great as it is.
And if Randy had finished said duty, which would take longer at night due to lack of light, he had to go train in the Nomicon for a solid 2 hours. That's one way to say that he had little to no sleep.
And here the said secret hero was, at Science class, yawning as he couldn't help how sleepy he was and how boring the class is. Don't get him wrong, Mrs. Driscoll's classes were always boring, but this one was boring beyond wits.
He started to nod off only to wake up again, like he was slapped in the face to stay awake, every few seconds. He groaned once he woke up again, it was getting a bit tiring to slowly close your eyes only to instantly open them back again, he looked at Howard for help waking himself up without him dozing off again, but the heavy-set kid only shrugged.
Randy put both his palms on his chin and tried to stay up at Mrs. Driscoll's boring class about the theory of man.
"Can't… sleep," he tried to concentrate on staying up as his own eyelids started to falter. Then he fell asleep again, only to hear a loud snap, of a ruler, from his desk. He shot up to see the said Science teacher in front of him.
"Mr. Cunningham, so lovely of you to come back to Earth," Mrs. Driscoll greeted, although her tone and face expression indicated that she didn't give a-
Randy gulped at the presence of his teacher in front of him. He was in for a real treat now. He had to think of a believable excuse before everything falls downhill from there. And that's when Howard stepped up.
"Mrs. Driscoll," Howard began, "My friend, Randy, over here has had lack of sleep for the past few days because of some 'assignments' he has been working on," he said in the most sophisticated way possible.
Randy smiled at his best friend's back-up, but his smile fell as Mrs. Driscoll narrowed her eyes at them. "And may I ask, what are these assignments?"
Howard pulled out a list of things, that was inside Randy's backpack, that Randy have already done the past week, "Let's see," he started, "Build a model of the Van Dam, make a history report of it, make a poem that constructed of Spanish, and study about any of desired country's culture," the orange-haired teen stated with a smirk, not including his best friend's ninja duties, before adding, "And only in a week's time."
It was funny to see Marlene's dumbstruck and a bit surprised face, but she brushed her shock aside, "Well, I suppose all I can tell is that you better sleep earlier next time," she said before leaving the two and getting back to her lecture.
Randy gave Howard a sincere smile and thumbs up as Howard mouthed a "You owe me chili fries" at the sleepy teen. Randy chuckled at him as he turned back to face his teacher, only to slowly doze off and wake up again.
