Hey guys, I just wanted to say I'm so sorry for letting this story go so long without an update! I haven't forgotten about it, life just got kind of busy and to be honest? I haven't been feeling the most inspired to write the last couple of years. I'm working on getting back into the grove and going over this story, I was reminded how much I loved this show and the characters so I'm going to finish it!

Just a reminder that I was writing this back during the first season, before everything had played out. So I'm going to write as if I don't know the ending of the show and take things in the direction I had originally planned. I'm definitely going to be as true as possible to the characters we encountered in season one, so please keep that in mind. Back when things were a bit more lighthearted and we had no idea what direction the show would end up going in.
With that being said, hope you enjoy the new chapter and I will definitely not be waiting as long between chapters this time around. Here are a few refresher points to let you know where things are timeline wise in the show:

RPs:
-This takes place about five or six episodes into season one.

-Flynn hasn't told anyone about Lucy's diary yet

-Lucy's engaged to some unknown guy

-None of the Rittenhouse connections have been made yet

-Rufus is still spying on the rest of the team for Mason

Wrong.
They were so wrong.
This was all kinds of awkward.

Lucy and Wyatt lay side by side on the bed, both of them staring up at the ceiling as the sheets were drawn up around their waist. Their bodies were pressed up against each other, arms and legs overlapping slightly as there was no room to move at all. They were sharing a single pillow, their heads inches away as Lucy could feel the heat radiating from Wyatt's body. Their flimsy shifts weren't providing much of a barrier between their skin and her face flushed slightly at that thought as it was leading to much more inappropriate ones.

"I know we've been in tight spaces before but this is getting ridiculous." Wyatt quipped, breaking the tension that had been building as she turned her head to look at him, a small smile on her face.

"It doesn't get much tighter than this. Either one of us moves the wrong way and someone's ending up on the floor." she replied as he grinned at her.

"Is that a warning? Are you one of those people who rolls around in their sleep? Should I be prepared to get kicked throughout the night?" he asked as she scoffed.

"What? No! I. . .no. . ." she trailed off as he raised an eyebrow at her, a skeptical look on his face.

"Okay fine, maybe I roll around a "tiny" bit but I definitely don't kick!" she protested.

"How would you know?" he asked.

"Amy and I shared a bed a lot during these past few months when we were looking after our mom. I think she would have told me by now if. . ."Lucy began but trailed off as Wyatt saw a brief flash of pain make its way across her face at the mention of her sister's name.

"Hey. We're going to get her back. I promise." he said softly as she let out a shaky breath, looking over at him.

"Are we? It's just . . it doesn't feel like these missions are ending anytime soon. Flynn's always a step ahead of us and I get it, I get that stopping him takes priority but it's like I'm the only one worried about her. Agent Christopher, Mason, hell even my own mother. . .she doesn't exist to them. What do they care if she comes back?" she finished, her eyes welling slightly with tears.

"Lucy, you know she's real. So do I, so does Rufus. Once we stop Flynn, even if Mason and Agent Christopher don't agree, we'll take the damn lifeboat and get her back ourselves." he said firmly as she just managed a head nod.

"Besides, I'm curious to see what the fuss is all about." he added as Lucy smiled through her tears.

"You'd like her. She'd like you. In fact, she'd probably be teasing me about you wondering why I haven't. . ." Lucy trailed off abruptly, her face going slightly red as Wyatt smirked at her.

". . .hit that?" he offered as she laughed.

"She'd totally put it that way! God, I love her to death but she's so nosy sometimes. She's always been like that, totally invested in my love life and always trying to set me up with someone. I was just so focused on my career that I kept putting it off, thinking I had more time." she said as he could hear a tinge of regret in her voice.

"Well you're not doing too bad for yourself now. You've got a real fiancee AND a fake husband." he teased as he nudged her arm gently, Lucy rolling her eyes but smiling nonetheless.

"Living every girl's dream." she said dryly as he chuckled.

"Well the best thing we can do right now is get some rest. Focus on stopping Flynn. The sooner we do that, the sooner we get your sister back." Wyatt said as she nodded her head.

"Thanks Wyatt. . .for listening." she replied, smiling softly at him as he smiled back at her.

"Anytime." he replied as she closed her eyes, the room falling silent as they slowly drifted off to sleep.

The next morning. . .

Wyatt slowly began to stir as he let out a deep breath, shifting slightly in bed to get a little more comfortable. That's when he heard a rustling beside him and he quickly opened his eyes to find himself staring at the back of Lucy's head. His brain was taking a minute to register this fact and as he began to become more alert, he suddenly remembered that a) they had shared a bed together last night and b) at some point in the night they'd clearly shifted. Lucy's back was now pressed up against his chest, his arms wrapped around her waist as he was holding her close against him. Their legs were entangled together as well and he swallowed thickly at how comfortable this all felt. It was a feeling he hadn't had with anyone else since Jessica died.

He knew they couldn't stay like this, that whatever he was feeling now needed to stop. . .at least for the moment. They needed to focus on stopping Flynn and if this time period was as dangerous as Lucy said it was, he needed his full attention to be on the task at hand in order to keep them safe.

"Lucy." he murmured into her ear as the corners of her mouth tugged up into a small smile. She then let out a contented sigh before snuggling up against him further. God she wasn't making this easy. . .

"Lucy, you need to wake up." he repeated, a little louder this time and this time it seemed to have worked.
He felt her stir beneath him, her eyes fluttering open before she turned her head to look over her shoulder at him.

"Wyatt?" she asked drowsily as he smiled at her, wondering how look it would take for her to realize the position they were currently in.

"Morning sunshine." he replied cheerfully as he watched that moment of recognition sink in, her eyes widening suddenly as she was now fully alert and aware of their body positions.

"Oh god!" she exclaimed as she quickly rolled away from him. . .and then proceeded to tumble right off the bed as she'd forgotten about how little space there'd been, letting out a small yelp as she hit the floor.

"Lucy! You okay?"

Wyatt peered over the edge of the bed to see Lucy lying on her back on the ground, giving him a thumbs up.

"I'm good." she groaned as he couldn't help but to start to laugh.

"Not funny Wyatt." she growled as she looked up at him.

"Oh come on, it's a little funny!" he replied, a grin on his face as he looked down at her.

They were suddenly interrupted by a knock at the door as Lucy sat up from the ground, the two of them turning their heads to look towards it.

"I was just coming to check on you guys but uh. . if you're busy. . ." Rufus' voice called out from the other side of the door.

"Nothing's going on. Good timing actually buddy, Lucy's just rolled out of bed." Wyatt replied with a grin as Lucy searched the floor for something to throw at him. Rufus walked inside just in time to see Lucy chuck Wyatt's pants at him as they hit him square in the face.

"Ow!" he complained as he tossed them on the bed and shot a rueful look over at Lucy.

"Serves you right." she replied, smirking at him as Wyatt turned to look at Rufus, who looked unsure as to if he wanted to know what was going on.

"Startled her a bit and she rolled off the bed." he explained as Rufus broke into a grin, shaking his head at her as Lucy felt her face flush.

"Okay, it's well established that I'm klutzy. Can we please just move on?" she said in a slightly huffy tone.

"Yeah we should really get going anyway. Figure out what to do about Flynn when we see him. We've still got some time before Elizabeth and Thomas swing by and pick us up I think. Meet you guys downstairs?" Rufus asked as they both nodded.

"Meet you down there in a few." Wyatt replied as Rufus walked out of the room.

As Wyatt went about gathering his clothes, Lucy couldn't help but stare forlornly at her stay that was lying a few feet away on the ground. Another day of wearing that torturous device. This was going to be so much fun.
