Never in a single life had Sonic expected to learn how to swim, but here he was, outside Knothole, at the Mobian Lake east from the Great Forest.
It had been three days since the last mission to Robotropolis so Eggman was too busy getting his power back on after the power generator was destroyed, this gave everyone time to relax and provided Sally the opportunity to give Sonic swim lessons.
A month prior, the speedster fell into a pool of water during a mission, which involved taking out a shark bot factory, and freaked as he could not swim. Luckily, Rotor and Sally had helped the blue hedgehog get out and dry.
Recently, Sally offered to teach Sonic how to swim and he reluctantly agreed, thanking her for being a very nice person. After today, he would never again get nervous near water or panic if he accidentally ended up in water, Sonic was going to beat the water like a boss.
Another reason for Sal to give him swimming lessons, there was always the possibility that one day Eggman would set up an underwater base and would hold someone hostage there, Sonic could not let aquaphobia conquer him then or Robotnik would beat him.
The speedy blue hedgehog stood on the smooth green grass near the crystal-clear water in purple swim trunks, with white stripes, and barefoot as he waited for Sally to come out of that white changing tent, he had plans for the rest of the day such as eating chili dogs and napping in a warm bed.
Just what was her swim outfit going to be, a wet-suit or a one-piece bathing costume?
Sonic hardly cared, he wanted to get this done and over with before sunset.
The blue tent rustled and Sally Acorn finally came out, barefoot and in a white bathrobe, walking towards him and the lake. "Ok, Sonic!" Sal winked, "You all set? It's time for Sonic the Aquaphobe to sleep forever and time for Sonic the aquatic hedgehog to awaken anew."
The blue blur coughed, "You bet, Sal. In Bunny's words, I'm set as a June bug in May. Heck, I dunno what a June bug in may is all like. But I'd love to look it all up later, yeah!"
"Can we focus on swimming instead of non-swimming, please?"
"Sorry, Sal. I'm nervous, even when some gal I know and love is my instructor."
Sally smiled, "Oh, don't worry, Sonic. I think we are going to have fun before you know it. I have the cure for your nervousness right now."
The brown-colored slender teenage chipmunk undid the bundle of her robes and let them drop down to her feet, stepping out of them.
Sonic resisted the urge to nose-bleed, drooling or let his jaw drop as he drank in the sight awaiting him: Sally Acorn wearing an attractive red-orange two-piece bikini swimsuit.
Sal put a hand on her hip and winked seductively with a smile. "Do you like what you see, Sonic?" The princess tomboy asked.
"Heck yeah." Sonic's heart was pounding inside his rib-cage, the color of his face nearly drained just from seeing this girl in a bikini.
He almost felt embarrassed or guilty about it, while Sally looked great, he almost wanted to see her in a one-piece.
Was a two piece a little too much?
"I thought about wearing a one-piece," Sally admitted, looking at her curved body and smiling sheepishly, "Then I thought maybe you'd like to see how I look good, so I decided on the bikini in order for my bathing suit to help highlight my features and enhance my attractiveness. Well, either way, it seems to have worked. Sonic, are you confident now?"
Sonic nodded, "Yes, do it, Sal. I'm ready for my swimming lessons."
"Are you really?" Sally approached Sonic and started snaking her arms around his neck seductively, obviously carrying the intent of kissing him. Sonic stammered, "Y-y-yeah?"
His nervousness was now resurfacing, Sonic had been so distracted by Sally's bikini, he'd forgotten his fear of water had vanished below the surface, waiting for the minute to resurface and get the better of him yet again. "Aw, is the aqua-phobia parasite back? Allow me to take care of that little problem."
Before Sonic could say anything, the chipmunk pressed her furry body against his, snaking her arms around him and pressing her lips against his in a sweet and tender smooch.
The blue hedgehog melted into Sally's kiss within seconds, unaware of the fire slowly starting to light in their hearts. As the kiss broke, Sally winked, "So are you now ready?" Forgetting his fear and taking Sally's hand, Sonic nodded, "I am. Sal! Let's do it!"
They walked towards the edge of the lake together, breathing in the sweet non-polluted afternoon Mobius breeze. "Shoes off?" Sally asked.
Sonic nodded.
"You 100% ready?"
Another nod.
"Hold on to my hands then, we're going in. Just remember, I'm your swim instructor and I am right with you." I know, lets get on with it. It feels like a boring dream.
Reaching the edge, Sally sat down to kick her feet in the water and told Sonic to do the same, saying it was the start of the swim lesson, kicking feet in the water was to check the temperature and to see if it was fine.
Not even hesitating (for his girlfriend's sake), Sonic did as he was told and, the second he kicked his legs in the water, found out it felt warm and saw he was completely fine.
"See?" Sally pat Sonic on the hand, "Water's not bad! It's just liquid." Sonic had to ask Sally, "Don't people still have water accidents?"
"People drown if they have trouble breathing underwater or are not skilled at swimming very well," Sally rolled her eyes, "Yes people have had accidents in the past. But as long as some people are supervised, there is less likely to be accidents. Now, enough being afraid. Its swimming time!"
Getting to her feet, Sally spread her arms out like an airplane as if she were on a diving board and, in one graceful leap and a flip through the air, dove into the lake with a sweet splash that didn't even faze Sonic at all.
Bobbing up on the surface of the water, Sally took Sonic by the hands and dragged him into the lake. Knowing full well what to do, the blue hedgehog kicked his legs to keep himself floating, surfaced on the water and tried to stay close to Sal as long as possible.
Sonic was like a kid, a kid scared of not being with his mom or dad, fearing the possibility of something terrible happening to himself if that happened.
"Just relax yourself and don't fight the water or yourself," Sally advised, "That's the main basic of swimming without any issues, remember that. Ok?" Sonic gave a little nod. "That's good you got it, doing good so far."
Sally started swimming backwards, using her legs and helping Sonic lay on his stomach in the water. The blue boy was kicking up a storm with his own legs and it looked very cool, it's like he already knew how to swim.
After guiding Sonic around the lake for a while, it was time to help him float and swim on his own without anybody to help him.
Swimming back to the shore of the lake near dry ground, Sally let go of Sonic and put her hands on the side of the small ledge of brown dirt, the blue one doing the exact same thing.
"Ok, Sonic!" Sally whispered, "I want you to try swimming from here to me on your own, kick off and swim on your front with arms and legs. Got that?"
Sonic whimpered, "But if I drown, won't you be there to stop me from sinking deep under the water, S-s-Sal?"
"Of course, Sonic. Now, enough fright, here we go." Sally pushed off the edge and swam like a sports swimmer, doing the backstroke and then the front stroke before stopping in the middle of the lake.
Sonic watched her with great interest, impressed at how well she was doing, Rosie and Sally's father had done a great job teaching the princess how to swim back when she was a little girl in the days before the coup and Eggman ruined everything. Darn, now Sonic had another reason to love Sally over crazy girl Amy.
"Sonic!" Sally called, "Come on, I'm confident in you, I know you could do it. Just swim!" Sonic almost felt water-locked, like he could not move a muscle, that was all due to his nervousness being in the water.
But the words Sally told him echoed in his mind, building his confidence, she had faith in him and the blue blur did not want to disappoint. He was swimming perfectly, starting to overcome his water phobia issues and that was amazing.
Taking a deep breath and using all of his strength, his heart pounding, Sonic punished off the ledge and swam towards Sally as fast as he could, kicking up water with his legs and rotating his arms, all the way to the middle of the lake where she was waiting for him before Sonic stopped arms length from the lovely teenage chipmunk.
"Way to go, Sonic!" Sally exclaimed, hugging her heroic, brave blue boyfriend. "You did it, you swam, almost without help. I'm so happy for you! I'm so happy!"
"Thanks, Sal!" Eggman's heroic nemesis gasped, letting Sally know she was accidentally squeezing the life out of him. "Oops!" The squirrel let go of Sonic, "Sorry I hugged you too hard, I was excited for you, that's all."
"That's alright!" Sonic gasped for air, "I'm not worried about that one bit!"
"Shall we continue?"
"I guess, for just a little longer."
Sally was soon helping Sonic swim and float on his back as well as doing the backstroke, amazingly, the blue hedgehog was learning well. He didn't seem so nervous.
Looks like Sonic's now got over his fear of the water since he now knows how to swim. Sally thought, observing the blue blur's body language.
"Well, Sonic? How are you holding up?" The tomboy asked, just as she and Sonic were resting, floating atop the lake with their legs and arms moving.
"Very good, Sal!" Sonic said, smiling passionately at her, the fires of romance between them were now starting to burn and he could feel some love coming on even though it was not really planned.
"Thank you, thank you for helping me conquer my fear of the water and thank you for helping me learn how to swim. We should go swimming at the lake every now and then from now on, Sal. Think of it as a date!"
Sally giggled, "You silly..."
"No seriously!" Sonic swam up to her, unable to control his romantic drives as he grinned and placed his hands on her arms, "I love you, Sal. You're the girl I wanna spend the rest of my life with once we've beaten the doc, we're goin' out together all the time between missions against Robuttnik.
"We've done dinner dates, so why not a lake date or a pool date, or a beach date since I am now becoming a good swimmer. There's nobody watching us right now, so it doesn't hurt to get into some intimacy without extremes."
Sally gave him a wink and a smirk, "Is this a special way of thanking me for giving you swimming lessons and helping you conquer your fears, Sonikku?"
I did not expect her to do that. Sonic thought, "Heck yeah, princess!"
"Then we better start, then. You could use a reward for your cooperation and for being such a good boy, handsome hedgehog prince."
[*Note: Don't worry, people. They're not gonna do anything 100% sexual. Its just a little bit of mushy, that's all. This ain't swim lessons and romance for nothin' ya know. *]

Sally placed her hands on the side of Sonic's head and pulled him in, their lips puckering up as they met, Sonic, resisting the urge to fiddle with the knots on Sally's bikini, tickled the chipmunk-squirrel's neck as well as her hair as she growled into their passionate kiss.
The two of them automatically swam with their bodies back to shore, their minds acting as steering wheels and guides for their short little trip. Breaking off the smooching to catch their breath, Sonic climbed out of the water and, like the sweet gentleman he was, helped Sally out by the hand.
"Thank you, noble prince." Sally giggled, enjoying this as it lasted.
"No prob, my royal romantic tomboy." Sonic smooched Sal's hand.
"Doofus Dude!"
"Gorgeous Gal Pal!"
Backing away from the water in order to make sure that no accidents took place, Sally pushed Sonic on the back and lay down atop him, pressing her slender and furry body against his muscular body with a smirk as she pinned him down.
"No escape from me, darling." The princess said in a seductive tone, "You can run, but you can't hide or escape from your pursuers and fans forever, Sonic the Hedgehog."
Sonic chuckled, "Yeah, baby, yeah! Do I make you happy? Do I make you energetic? YEAH!" Sally slapped him playfully and licked his cheek, "Oh zip it, Sonic Powers!"
Her lips crashed down again and the kissing resumed, Sonic made sure to deepen it, holding the sides of Sally's head as she did the same thing. They rolled about in the grass, switching positions, locked in the kiss.
Making things more spicy and steamy, Sonic invaded Sally's mouth with his tongue before the princess counterattacked with HER tongue, starting a tongue-wrestling, French Kiss.
Most of the time, Sonic was one to skip the French kissing and finish his romantic make out with Sally. 2 minutes of French kissing later, Sonic and Sal broke the kiss so they could breathe and wipe away a saliva strand that existed between their mouths.
"That was incredible." Sally said, gasping for breath.
Sonic flashed a cocky grin, "Ha ha. That truly was the best kiss ever, Sal. I will love ya until the end of our lives forever, ha! I didn't plan this, but I guess it doesn't hurt for things to get romantic on a day like this, especially when you were givin' me swim lessons and I was gettin' over my fear of the water that's been with me for a loooooooong time."
Giving him a smooch on the cheek, Sally stood up, helping her speedy boyfriend back up on his feet too, picked up the fluffy towel that lay on the ground next to the changing tent and dried herself off. Being the kind person she was, Sally handed the towel to Sonic, who proceeded to dry himself off with the towel as well.
"Well, we better get back." Sally put on the bathrobe over her swimsuit and slipped on her shoe sandals, "It's gonna be dark and we don't have all day to hang out at a lake unless you wanna swim a while longer."
"Can we come here to go swimming again next week?" Sonic asked, putting on his slippers and a nice shirt, "Maybe with Tails, Rote or Antoine after we get done with another mission to take out one of Egghead's robo-butt factories and deal another setback to the big man?"
Sally thought about that for just a minute, "You know, now that you mention that, Sonic. That would be a really great idea, nice way to relax after a mission against Robotnik."
Sonic punched the air excitedly, "Oh yeah, Sal. Now we're talkin'!"
The End
