Mliss knew what had happened. As the great life healer she was, she understood why it had happened. The force told her how it came to happen, but she waited. Plank, Plank, Plank what did you do.
"Makeshift squad has a replacement." She stated, "What happened to the missing clone?"
Smiling slightly she felt EL-les's thoughts. He was surprised that she would notice a minuscule detail like that. Or even care.
"CT-4698 collapsed after pushing himself too hard for the exam and forgetting to eat"
"Forgetting to eat? No one could do that."
"I agree," Brik chimed in. "That clone is up to something"
"Will Mishap still pass?"
"We based his passing on his previous tests and he is a decent little clone."
Interesting. Makeshift squad finished in time despite Planks mistake. The other four were happily hugging each other at the top of the stand unaware of Plank lying semi-conscious on the floor, just starting to stir. Curious, He doesn't want them to know what happened.
The others in Makeshift squad left via the top exit expecting Plank to go through the other exit.
EL-les turned to Mliss to ask her about CT-4690 but he saw only Brik on the podium with him.
"Where did Master Mliss go?" He asked Brik. Offhandedly Brik pointed to the training arena.
"Probably going to congratulate that clone. Though I don't see why he was the first one to fail."
EL-les shook his head. Brick would never understand.
On the training arena
Mliss walked over to Plank as he struggled to stand. Gently she took his hand and began to pull him up. Plank gasped as a warm, wonderful feeling filled him. It empowered him, it made him feel like he was invincible! Once he was standing their hands broke apart and the feeling faded but to his utter amazement, he didn't feel hungry! He felt better than he ever had in the past few days.
Leaning closer to him Mliss whispered:
"Come to my ship tonight, if you want to talk."
Amazed that a Jedi master would even bother to talk to him Plank said only out of repetition
"Yes Sir"
Walking to the exit at the back of the hall, Plank turned slightly in continuous bafflement at what had happened. But the Jedi Master was already in the control podium awaiting the next batch. How much did she know? Who told her? Was he about to fail?
Yes, it was that last one. He was about to fail. Messing around with Mishap was now his ticket to failure. Sighing Plank begrudgingly made his way to his still celebrating brothers, dreading the evening, as it ticked ever closer.
