PERCY p.o.v
I let go of Frank and hazel and moved towards the front to stand next to Reyna. The Argo II slowly descended and landed in front of us. I was probably shaking with my nerves because Reyna put a comfortable hand on my shoulder.
The first person to come down the ladder was the little scrawny kid that looked like Hazel's ex-boyfriend. Behind him came a blond boy with electric blue eyes, holding hands with a girl. I recognized the boy as Jason Grace, the former praetor, the girl however I did not.
She had tanned skin and choppy brown hair, she was pretty but nothing in comparison with Reyna, probably a daughter of Aphrodite.
And then she came down, her blond hair swaying in the wind. Our eyes met and I gave her a nervous smile, she smiled back. Then Jason spoke:
"Romans! It's me Jason Grace, your praetor." He says. 'Ha, not anymore' I thought.
"Jason, I'm glad your not dead." Reyna says. Witch was a tiny bit harsh in my opinion. He looked a bit uncomfortable.
"And I'm Piper McLean, daughter of Aphrodite. That's Leo, son of Hephaestus and Annabeth Chase daughter of Athena." After she says that Octavian decides to be his idiot self.
"Ha! a daughter of Minerva, what a disgrace." He says "You better not try anything Greacus." I wanted to strangle him.
"Octavian, why don't you go kill your teddy bears and let the grown ups talk?" I say. Everyone snickered, even Reyna cracked a smile. He grunted and ran off.
"Welcome to Camp Jupiter, I'm Reyna RamÃrez-Arellano co-praetor of the twelfth legion and this is Percy Jackson, my... colleague." She said the word carefully but nobody seemed to realize.
Just then Annabeth runs to me and jumps into my arms. Everyone in the legion gasps and some reached for their gladius.
"I missed you so much seaweed brain." I didn't know what to do, so I just put her down. She gives me a strange look but then Reyna saves me.
"You can catch up later, now we feast!" The Romans cheered and went towards the forum were we would eat. But before the Greeks follow I grab Annabeth's wrist.
"We need to talk, follow me." I brought her to the gardens of Bacchus and we sat on a bench. I give her a nervous glance and she eyes me suspiciously.
"What's wrong Percy?" She puts her hand on mine but I pull away. Well might as well just say it.
"I'm sorry Annabeth, but we can't be together." I tell her, she looked at me with anger.
"What do you mean we can't be together! Why not?!" She now has tears in her eyes.
"Look I'm sorry, I didn't remember you and by the time I did..."
"By the time you did what?" I look at her, her tears where now falling down her cheeks.
"I was in love with someone else." It was barely a whisper but she heard it. She stares at nothing in particular for some time and suddenly gets up, running off towards the distance.
"Annabeth!" I called out to her, but she kept running.
PIPER p.o.v
We all sat down on a table in the Forum, but I couldn't see Annabeth anywhere. Reyna seemed to realize something was wrong because she was looking around suspiciously.
I also noticed Percy was not around either, maybe he was with Annabeth...
"Has anyone seen Annabeth or Percy?" I asked. Everyone shook their head, except for Leo. Of course...
"Their probably getting some if you know what I mean." He says with a wink. Reyna looked like she was going to explode when he said that, I wonder what that's about... Before I could think Annabeth shows up, without Percy. She was panting like one does after a run.
"Hey, sorry I'm late. I got lost." She says out of breath. I can't help but think she wasn't telling the hole truth.
She sits down and ignores everyone around her like she does when she's thinking. After a few minutes Percy shows up, he looked at Annabeth nervously and went to sit in the Praetor chair.
I couldn't help but think how much he looked like a God. I mean I haven't met that many but his perfect face and body resembles a marble statue. Perfect, without flaws. I shook my head, he was with my best friend and I had Jason... But a girl can dream right?
"Where were you!?" Reyna half whispers half shouts.
"Relax, I was dealing with the situation." He replies. Reyna seemed content with the answer and gave him a sad smile. I wonder what that was about.
During the rest of the time we exchanged stories, Jason, Leo and I told them about our quest to save Hera and Percy, Hazel and Frank told us about theirs to free Thanatos and retrieve the golden eagle.
To say I was impressed was an understatement, how can a person wake up with no memory do all of that and then become Praetor, in two weeks! Percy Jackson was a real mystery...
During this time I also noticed how close Reyna and Percy were. I mean they only met like a few weeks ago right? but they were acting like they'd known each other all their life.
ANNABETH p.o.v
I felt like my heart had been ripped from my chest. Eight months of looking and when I finally see him he tells me he loves someone else. I couldn't help but wonder who it was, he was close to quite a lot of girls so it could be any of them.
Let's see there was the girl Hazel but from what I saw she was with the other guy, so it's not her. Then there was one called Gwen but they didn't seem to have that kind of relationship, they were just good friends. But that means there was only one logical option.
Reyna.
Of course! how did I not see it before, they were way too... how do I put it... Touchy. Yes, that's it. They were sitting very close, too close for my liking. I also saw that Percy's left hand and her right hand were under the table all the time as if they were holding hands.
I wanted to cry so bad, but I couldn't show weakness. I had to look strong in front of the Romans but every time I looked their way I wanted to push her off him!
REYNA p.o.v
I didn't like the way Annabeth was looking at me, like she wanted to stab me in the gut over and over. I couldn't blame her though, I did steal her boyfriend.
Ugh... Why could he not have been single, thing would be much easier.
