Plank walk into the training room awaiting his turn to be trained but Mliss was nowhere in sight.
"Morning!" Came a cheery voice from somewhere above him. looking around he spotted her hanging from the ladder almost vertically, fixing something on the roof.
"I'll be right down!" she called, true to her word she quickly descended the ladder and then met him on the floor.
"So I was thinking today we'd worked on your aiming skills. Not that there the worst I've seen but they need a tiny bit of work."
"Yeah, I know I can't really aim. After all, you did see a few of my training programs."Plank said regretfully.
"Again," she said optimistically," Not the worst I've seen." Slightly embarrassed for him Mliss continued on professionally.
"We're going to use the same software that we used with you yesterday but this time we're just going to have droids walking around. You're just going to have to try and shoot their vital parts from standing still. Nothing too hard."
They walked directly to the centre of the room where she tapped a button on her wrist control and then turned to Plank and handed him his favourite E9'S.
"Battle Droid's, I think you already know, have five main weak spots but none are as effective as shooting its neck or head. It can do everything without an arm or leg or two but it needs his head to do process and send signals which might be the death of the squad. But before we get there your first going to simply aim for the chest area."
Plank lined up his shot, stretching his arms out completely and murmured to himself," It's ok I got this."Squeezing the trigger a very rapid succession of shots burst out. But unfortunately, none of the shots went home.
Mliss pondered what to do next. "Aha!" She said after a moment."Step closer to the droid and take a step back every time you hit it."
Plank followed her orders and did as he was told until he was about 3 m away. He couldn't hit a droid for his life from that distance.
"See how you're holding it out in front of you with your arms locked in front of you. Well, that is very good in some cases in other cases you have to be more moveable. You need to be able to move them quickly to get a 360-degree shot range. A few inches off your target can ruin your chances of living another day."
Plank bristled inside of himself. No need to tell him twice. He knows how easy it is to lose your life in battle.
" Tuck your arms in slightly and when you look at the target look only at the place where you're aiming. Nothing else around you."
Plank looked at it.
"Ok."
Tucking his arm in as told he took the shot. Looking in shock at the target then his blaster he saw he made the mark. On the first try!
"Well done!" She said as excited as Plank himself. "Now step back to the 5m mark."
Plank aimed from there and it was another hit! He turned his gaze to the blaster he held. Had she rigged it Plank thought alarmed. He was startled out of his thoughts by Mliss's sharp laugh as she read his mind.
"That shot was all you, my friend."
Still suspicious he went on. "Ok then, let me try something harder if it was all me."
"Gladly. This time the droids will be on patrol. When the light flashes one of the droids will notice your presence. Destroy it before it destroys you."
Plank waited behind the rock he was using for cover. Planks nerves were on edge. He paid close attention to all that was going on around him. His peripheral vision aiding him greatly. The red light flashed startling Plank. Nonetheless, Plank peeked his blaster out of a crevice and fired a single shot. To his utmost surprise, it hit the mark leaving the droid a smoking scrap pile on the floor.
"Now let's do something else," Mliss said more than pleased.
A Few Training Hours Later
Plank and Mliss stood back to back, both favouring two E9 blasters. To be fair. The smell of Felucia wafted through Planks helmet. It was a scent that spoke of foreign vegetation, and life.
"Be cautious they will come swiftly from multiple directions," Mliss warned. Two droids came out without warning but before they could do any harm Plank destroyed them.
"Good."She murmured.
Four more droids came out from behind them but Plank noticed too late so Mliss forcefully knocked him out of the way. Giving him a chance on the field he wouldn't have had.
Getting up eagerly he twisted and shot four more approaching enemy's. The training program finished as did the day. The remaining day of personal training Plank spent on tactics. Plank, Mliss thought happily would make a great commander.
