*Cooking and whistling something. Sees Readers* Ah, so you are back. Glad to see you could make it for another chapter of my lil' fic here. Right now the ghost is nowhere to be seen, so for once I can have peace. Now, this is possibly the last pre-written chapter I am going to do then I might just post this and let you guys judge my work.
Meaning that I would very much like to read your reviews and whatnot.
But let us first review what has happened to this point, shall we? Roman is working for Cinder, which in turn leads to Cinder finding Ash and enlisting his help. But Ash is not so easy to control, especially since Lady Fall is not next to him 24/7 to check out his lies. Second of all the Cardin stuff is ongoing, and Ash has joined in with training Jaune, which lead to him snapping at the blondie after he revealed his transcripts and revealing his secret to him. A secret which Jaune chose to keep from Cardin as well, winning the respect of Ash.
Now Ash is still training Jaune behind Cardin's back, and the Forever Fall trip is not going to be too soon if I can help it with some timeline manipulation.
That aside, enjoy your read.
Ash was currently sleeping on his mattress, shades off and next to him and weapons nicely put in their own little corner opposite of Blake's dirty smut. But as much as he'd like to take this free day to just nap, he had to wake up as his scroll's alarm went off. So he woke, turned off his alarm, went to the bathroom, got dressed, looked around his room for the promised Lien.
There was nothing under his door or anywhere in his room, which started to make Ash thing that Cinder might've did something. Gods, if he didn't hate that woman from the first moment he saw her. But one look out through the window had his worries cast aside. Right there, caught in the closed window, was an envelope with what Ash could only assume was his Lien.
He went to the window and opened it a bit to take out the envelope, then he opened it. There was a lot of Lien inside, along with the smell of ice cream on the envelope. Neo must have been the one to deliver this. Good to know Beacon's security doesn't scare her, but then again, the only thing that ever scared her from what Ash saw was when Roman threatened to cut her ice cream supply once.
Man, the terror in her eyes was genuine.
But that was another good memory. Now that Ash had the Lien, he could finally get himself the furniture he so deserves. But first, he has to make sure he takes team JNPR with him, without the J that is. So he went out of his room with the Lien stashed away in his pockets and went to their dorm room, knocking on it 3 times before Ren answered the door.
"Ash." Ren greeted him. "What do we own the visit?"
"I just wanted to know if you guys would be willing to come with me for some shopping. I finally got my Lien for furniture, and was wondering if you guys would wanna help out?"
"Shopping?!" Nora shot up from behind Ren, looking in the doorway and rocketing there in mere seconds. "What are we buying? Pancakes? Dust? Pancakes? A mountain of pancakes?"
A lot of pancakes on this girl's mind. "No, Nora, Ash here asked us if we'd like to join him for some furniture shopping."
"Hmm. I guess that makes sense since his room is as bare as an Ursa without fur" The ginger said before turning around. "Hey, Pyrrha! Wanna come with?"
The redhead's head jerked towards them, then her eyes landed on Ash, and she couldn't help but notice his sly smirk. Something was bothering her about it. "That would be grand." Yet she said yes.
"By the way, where's Arc?" Ash's question made the three tense up a little, and he immediately felt the mix of emotions. "With Cardin again?"
"We assume so," Ren answered.
"Don't worry about him. I talked with him yesterday and he said it is okay for you to go without him." Ash tried to reassure them, but then Nora opened her mouth.
"When did you speak with our Fearless Leader, exactly? We didn't see you near the other yesterday."
Easy questions. "But there were moments when you didn't see either of us, didn't you?"
Nora hummed a bit. "True. Anyway, let's go! I can't wait to see what we can put in his little nest!"
Ren sighed as she followed Nora out of the room, then Pyrrha followed them last, closing the door behind her. But Ash couldn't help but notice a slight hint of negativity from Pyrrha. Meh. Maybe she's still thinking about Jaune, he could understand.
Now if only they could've avoided a certain blonde on their way out…
"What about this?" Yang pointed at a sponge chair, which Ash wouldn't mind, but the color bothered him; yellow. Everything up until now that Yang has chosen seemed to have been by her own taste.
But Nora was no big help either, flying around between all sorts of crazy furniture inside the store with Ren following her to make sure she doesn't break something. Which she has not until now.
But Pyrrha, on the other hand, was acting kinda strange. She had been sticking close to Ash the entire way and the boy could feel certain emotions from her. Faint, most likely she was trying to suppress them, but existent nonetheless. But Ash ignored it.
They at least managed to get the furniture they were after, and with Yang here, they were able to take a part of it back as well. Even if it was just the frame for the mattress which they had to assemble. Well, he still got himself a desk, closet, a small closet for his weapons, and some bookcases for Blake's collection.
But that was the basic stuff. For the rest of the stuff, he got himself a lamp, blankets, bedsheets, pillow, carpet, and even had enough for a TV and DVD player. Call about a generous amount of Lien, am I right? He will use the box Roman first send him to store his Dust, but for now, he was going home with the stuff they could carry, which was everything mentioned on this second list here.
Ash was carrying the TV and DVD player since they were the most expensive things while Ren took the bed stuff and Nora the carpet.
"Thanks for helping me to carry all this back to Beacon."
"Don't mention it, Ashie." Really, Yang? That nickname? "I am disappointed you didn't get yourself a sponge chair. It would've been so comfortable!"
"Well, what can I say? I like my classic chairs." Careful, do not give her any material to make puns out of, and we are good.
"Hmm." Yang still looked at him with a close gaze, apparently picking up how he dodged the bullet. "Alright, I won't complain since it was not my Lien to spend."
"Thank you."
"By the way, where did you get so much Lien, exactly?" Ren asked looking at Ash. Well, simple, his criminal uncle-in-title gave them to him for making it into Beacon as a gift. Of course, he is not going to be truthful about it. What does anyone think?
"My uncle lent them to me as a gift for making it into Beacon after finding out about my room situation." Half-truths are so useful at times. Ash technically did not lie, but it was not the truth either. Roman is like an uncle to him, after all, and Neo could count as a cousin of sorts. A very scary and stabby cousin.
Nora whistled. "Your uncle must be LOADED if he can afford to give you this much Lien! Say, what's his name?" Crap baskets...It was one thing to hide the fact that you have no actual uncle and only a person close as such, and another to hide the fact that they are a criminal wanted all across the kingdoms. But giving them a fake name? He has to call Roman, ASAP, after this.
Ash hesitated a bit as he thought of a name, something that did not bother the ginger and blonde too much, but the ninja and spartan of the group did look at him with a curious look, and suspicious from Ren. Luckily, he managed to think of something before they started to ask any more questions. "Blaze. Blaze Auburn."
"Blaze Auburn." Ren echoed. It seems it he was buying it. "And...where is he working at that he has so much Lien?" Ash cursed internally. Well, at least this can be easier dodged.
"He has a small partnership going on with the SDC, you see. Something about getting easier access in places such as Vacuo and Menagerie. " Such an obvious lie. Well, for those close with the SDC that is, but for them, it should be believable.
"Alright. I just wanted to make sure this Lien was clean."
"Clean?" Nora snorted. "Why? Do you think they had a bath in mud before spending like pigs?"
"Nora, I'm pretty sure Ren meant clean, as in Lien-not-made-through-shady-stuff clean" Pyrrha simplified for the ginger, to which Nora gave a long 'oh' sound as she understood the meaning. "To be honest, it was a worry of mine too. But for your uncle to be lending you so much Lien with the prices on Dust currently on the rise is really generous."
"Yeah. I guess." Safe. Ash was safe. He managed to lie to them.
"So, you have a loaded uncle...Does he need some company?" Yang...was being Yang. And she earned Ash's weird look with her question. Along with the gazes of the entire group. "What? A girl gotta earn her living, and that does imply getting herself a sugar daddy or 2."
"Yang, please, I know you are joking right now, but-"
Yang suddenly gasped in a fake shock, looking at Ash as she interrupted him. "Don't tell me he swings the other way!"
"What?!" Roman?! No! Ash knows for a fact he is not swinging that way! If Neo was anything to go by that is.
Of course, it seems the blonde bombshell won as Ash's reaction earned the laughs of Nora and Pyrrha. Ren was still unaffected by that, which Ash had to admit was something. But then again, he might just not be into this kinda comedy.
"Oh yeah, point for Yang!" She threw her fist forth in a phantom punch in victory while holding the wooden frame for the bed in her other arm.
Ash groaned in dismay. THIS is what he will have to put up with for 4 whole years? Remnant strikes him down, please. But as he inhaled and exhaled, he picked it up again, Pyrrha's negativity. The mixture was strange. Ash knew her not to get angry easily, which was a trait to be respected, but what he felt could be described as jealousy. He had to know now what she was hiding.
But not right now. Right now he had to return to his dorm, where his furniture is going to arrive later, set it up, then later that evening go train Jaune to punch Cardin. Simple plan. If not for the blonde's incapability to fight, his lack of a semblance, and his fruitless chase for the Schnee girl from Red's team.
Now he had to survive Yang's puns though. A truly monumental quest, and not to mention that he had to be careful not to give her any material for puns.
"Hey Ash, why did you refuse the sponge chairs for, exactly?"
"I don't like the soft feeling they give."
"Oh?" Yang perked her lips into a shit-eating grin of the likes Ash had only seen on Neo before.
"Crap…"
"Sanctuary!" Ash half-shouted as he shut the door to his room after everyone left. It was true torture what came after his slip in Vale. Yang just won't drop it, and just when he thought she was done, she had another 100 puns to make. Not even at Beacon and each of them already wanted to glue her lips shut.
Something made audible by Nora which only proofed to put more wood in the fire. It was hell. After arriving at his room, they all helped set up some of the furniture, which he was grateful for, but Yang still made puns. She did not miss a chance. Then later the rest of his furniture arrived, and he had to set it. Of course, he put the books up himself. No way he was letting any of them see that stuff.
Especially Xiao Long. If she was to see Blake's books and assume they were his only the Gods know how long she would tease him about it. Nora's reaction could've been any, but Ren might've had a word with Ash after about 'keeping what has to be secret hidden better'.
He did not care much if Nikos saw them since he assumed she might've just gone as red as her hair and just put the book down with a cough. But still, things would've been awkward.
But now it was finished. Ash's room was officially complete. He had a bed sitting on the right side of his room with the closet for his weapons next to it. It was more long than tall, so it doubled for a bedstand a bit quite well. And he had a good place to store Somnium Cavas and Asimenio Oneiro in. He did not trust Beacon's lockers one bit.
His closet, where he will store his clothing, was sitting parallel to his bed with his new desk next to it with the lamp on top. And the TV and DVD player? They were in the best possible position. Right in front of his bed, the TV hanging on the wall, giving him a comfortable view of any movie he might wish to see. Good thing his door opened the other way, meaning he doesn't have to worry about someone slamming it into the TV and breaking it. And he had a place for Blake's books now as well. He put the bookcase right under the TV, filled it with books, then put the DVD player on top. Easy.
And the box with Dust inside the closet, making it even better. The carpet was sitting right in the middle of the room, and his bed now had a nice space under it for him to hide things if he ever needed to. The kitchen and bathroom did not need much, and honestly, he did not even bother. The kitchen already had a fridge that only had to be cleaned and put back to freezing, a stove, and a few pans and whatnot. He could simply eat on the counter.
The bathroom was holding his, well, bathroom stuff. It had a toilet, a shower, a sink, and since he did not share his room that meant he did not have to share. So only a few towels were present there.
Overall, he was happy with his new place. He rolled on his back on the newly made bed and took a moment to relax and take off his glasses, not taking notice when the door opened and Jaune came in to let out a girlish yell.
"Gods, Arc!" Ash quickly threw his glasses back on.
"I'm sorry. Sorry, it's just that your eyes still, kinda, you know…" He was trying to find words not to offend Ash. A nice gesture from him, but ultimately unnecessary.
"Scary?" Ash completed, to which Jaune nodded while scratching the back of his neck. Ash sighed. He was still new to his eyes, so he understood the fear. But really now, he's yelling is like a girl's. That had to be fixed.
"So, how was it?" Jaune asked, quickly changing the subject. "Did my team had a good time?"
"If we do not count Yang's poor puns making every groan in dismay and making Nora almost tear the street trying to get away, then yes. " Jaune flinched hearing all that. It seems that his team had bad luck today if they had to hear Yang's awful puns all day.
"Anything else? How did they act?" Jaune took a seat on the bed, looking at Ash as he waited for the reply.
"Well, Nora and Ren did not act weird in the least - if I exclude Nora's personality - and Yang was Yang." Those 3 did not do anything to raise flags. He did not even pick up negativity from them during the entire trip. Except for one. "But then there was Pyrrha…"
Jaune perked hearing the name. She was the only other person besides Ash or Cardin who knew about his transcripts. He was afraid, and Ash felt it. He thought that maybe she was mad at him for hiding it and it only took time for her to find this fury. But his fear was not needed when he heard Ash's next words.
"I felt...jealousy. It was directed towards me as well." Jaune looked at Ash in confusion. Jealousy? What could Pyrrha be jealous of?
"Pyr? Are you sure you didn't pick up something else?" Jaune ask.
"Pretty dang sure, Arc," Ash replied. "The girl's jealous of me for some unknown reason, and frankly, I do not like it. She hides well too, and no one would suspect her to be jealous of, well, anyone!"
That was true since Pyrrha was who she was. 4 times champion and nicknamed like she was, everyone was jealous of her, not the other way around. Which only added fuel to the fire of their confusion. Why was she jealous? It made no sense what so ever.
But then again, maybe jealousy was better than straight-up anger. The last thing Ash would want is having to fight Nikos one on one, a battle he is most likely to lose before it even begins. And Arc was in a team with her, and her partner. Gods, was the blonde lucky.
"I...I don't believe it" Jaune said, looking down at the floor, which was no longer bare and had a carpet, and trying to understand what Ash said. "What could she be jealous of? I mean, it's not she likes me, you know."
The blonde let out a weak awkward laugh at the thought. Her? Pyrrha Nikos? Liking him? Jaune had more chances taking down an Ursa Major than locking lips with her. By himself.
Jaune sighed. "Anyway, I like what you've done with your room. It looks very nice"
"Thanks for the compliment, Arc"
"Yeah, and you also have a TV! With a DVD player no less!" Jaune pointed at the objects in question with a spark in his eyes, marveling over them. "No other rooms have one, so students would have to buy one themselves. But few can afford it, so…"
"Alright." Ash agreed before Jaune could finish, apparently seeing where the blonde was heading. "You can come over to watch some movies from time to time after we deal with Cardin, deal?"
"Deal!" Ash never felt a stronger grip on his hand and faster shake in his life. Where does he hide it during training?
Speaking of training, though. "So, I take it you came over for training, correct?" Ash asked, and Jaune calmed down enough for him to reply. The glee being replaced with a more serious expression.
"I am. I want to get rid of Cardin as soon as possible, and if that means getting down and dirty, then…" Jaune took a moment to think. Fighting dirty is not something people ought to agree with.
"Arc, tell me, what do you about the situation and what must be done?" Ash asked, and Jaune snapped out of his little trance to look at him.
"We must act with tact and care, try to be diplomatic and talk-"
"Wrong!" Ash cut him off rudely, slightly raising his voice. "That may work with others, but not the likes of Cardin and his poses. No, Jaune, those are not the kind of guys you can talk it out with."
Jaune winced at the realization. "But then...What do I do?"
"Simple: You show them who they have angered." A moment of silence fell on the room as Ash's words left his lips, and as soon as they did, he realized his words and the one before him.
"That is not going to work in my case... "
"Agreed."
"So...Any other bright ideas?"
"Yeah, training your butt off," Ash answered bluntly. "Is the arena opened? Larger space could benefit us for a change."
"Yeah, I think so," Arc answered. "So, what do you want to teach me? More ways of fighting chaotically and dirty?"
"In a way, yes. But this time…" Ash opened the closet where his weapons were stored and wasted no time getting them. "We will be using those bad boys."
"Oh...Oh, Gods help me"
As it turns out, the Gods were actually helping Jaune a bit. Ash gave him some tips on tricks he can do with his weapons other than using them to shield bash or slice. But also mentioned their inconsistency in certain terrains. Yet, he was quite surprised to see the blonde put that to use faster than he originally predicted.
Jaune had managed to roll under a bullet Ash delivered and then put his shield against the ground, lifting himself with an arm and spun around, making Ash block an impending kick from him. Too bad his arm quickly gave out and he had to get back on his actual feet.
That was still a good move.
"You are doing good, Jaune," Ash said as the 2 Huntsmen-in-training circled each other, looking for an opening. "That move just now can pack a serious blow to the head if done right and using your shield as the base is even better."
"I guess…" Jaune said hesitantly. Truth be told, that move was more of a fluke on his part, but if it earned him some slight praise from Ash then it was more than good enough. "But do you think it'll be enough to fight Cardin?"
"Jaune…" Ash sighed before charging at the blonde, Somnium Cavas still in its scabbard and Asimenio Oneiro making contact with the shield-sheath of Crocea Mors, then a slight click was heard before a gravity-infused round shot into Jaune's shield, sending the blonde back.
Jaune had to grip his shield real well not to see it fly out of his hand, but he couldn't keep it in position, allowing for a critical opening to reveal itself and Ash to charge forth at him. But he remembered what he learned from him, and rolled to his right, causing Ash to miss the strike, but just as he was about to strike him from behind with his sword, he found it blocked by Ash's gauntlets.
Ash pushed the blade to the side, sliding close and delivering another crushing fist to Jaune's breastplate. Although he might've put a little too much force into that one as he saw Jaune fly and land on his back, coughing. "Shit, sorry man. I didn't think that-"
Ash barely dodged the shield which came flying at his face, only to then turn and see the knight charge at him. Ash easily dodged and punched Jaune in the side of his head, putting his Aura in the red. "Damn, Arc, that was a dirty one! I like it."
Jaune got up using his sword for support, panting slightly. "Thanks…" Ash smirked and patted him on the back.
"Cheer up, that was a good trick. But not one that would work on Cardin of all people." True, that bully wouldn't care if he killed Jaune even. Then again, he'd deal with the likes of the Arc family and Beacon's staff, and the Vale police for murder.
"You're right. But…"
"But?" Ash echoed.
"Can we move on to sword teaching? No offense, but I want to wield Crocea Mors better, not just use it for distractions and trickery." Ash snorted at those words, but Jaune had a point. He couldn't rely on tricks forever, and Cardin was not as dumb as to fall for the same trick twice in a row.
"Very well" He drew his sword out. "And just for this, I will go easy." Somehow, Ash's smirk did not make Jaune feel any better, but the blonde was tough, he could take it.
The 2 went at it for a good while, way past the curfew. And all at Jaune's request. Somehow, Ash's words seem to have impacted him hard, and the boy was willing to push himself like hell to become stronger.
He had to give Arc that, and he was more than happy to do it. Even if Arc still hit the floor often.
But all good things must come to an end, and it came under the form of Goodwitch catching them and telling them to go back to their rooms unless they wished to face harsh punishments. Safe to say they ran.
And safe to say, Ash kept silent about a certain feeling he got when they did through the dorm's halls. Jealousy, once again. Ok, now he was positive someone was watching.
Outside of beacon, on the other hand, the story was different. Roman was still managing Cinder's dirty business, stealing Dust, making sure the White Fang goons around him, or animals as he likes to call them, don't blow him and the entire warehouse sky high.
Seriously, this is was more stressful then it should've been, and it was not doing good for his looks. But at least he did not have to worry about Cinder tapping into his scroll again, he got himself a new one, with a VERY good and expensive anti-hack protection.
Was it worth its Lien? Absolutely. He even tested it once, and the poor soul tried for a full hour to crack it with no success. He did pay the man, of course, since he was in a good mood at the time now that he can call Neo, Ash, and many others without Cinder listening to every call.
"That fire bitch won't see what hit her. " Roman muttered to himself as he looked over his scroll. But he still had the old, hacked one, and only so Cinder doesn't get suspicious. For now, he only had Neo and Ash in the new one, but that was enough.
He knew Neo was busy with her own job granted by Cinder, so she won't be around much. But Ash should be either asleep or in his room. So what to do? Call him and wake him up, possibly? Sure, why not. Not like someone else is going to pick up.
Roman dialed Ash, and traced the scroll to his ear, waiting for him to pick up. And he did. "How's my good, young, and promising nephew-in-title doing?"
"Roman?" Ash's tired voice was more than enough for Roman to figure out that he woke him up, which made him smirk. "Why are you calling so late?"
"Just to test out my new scroll, really, and see how you are doing?" Roman half-asked, twirling Melodic Cudgel in his hand. "So, any news?"
"Not much, really...Benn dealing with a little blackmail case, you may say." Now, this had Roman interested. Blackmail? At Beacon? Oh, brothers above please let it be a teacher. The things he could do with such intel were boundless. "A classmate of mine apparently faked his transcripts to get in, which is a dumb thing to do, and even a dumber thing to confess about out loud on the freaking roof." Crap. Wait a minute, faked transcripts?
Roman heard that one of his side-businesses recently had an interesting request; fake Beacon transcripts. Oh no...No, no, no. This was not good for him. "Ash, what is the name of the one being blackmailed?"
"Jaune Arc. Me and another classmate of mine, Pyrrha Nikos-"
Roman nearly flipped at that name. "The Invincible Girl?"
"Yes, Roman. The one and only." Ash replied with a slight annoyance in his voice. "Jaune asked her for some training-" He could hear Roman chuckle from that; a pushover receiving training from the Invincible girl? Roman thought he already knew the best jokes around, but this one was unique. "And I offered my own as well, just to kill time really."
"I see," Roman said as he calmed his laughter. "So, how is he?"
"Honestly, I hope the Gods have a soft spot for him because he is going to need it."
That was harsh, and Roman knew it. Ash was his father's split image in many aspects, and when it came to evaluating people, well, let's just say Pluto was known for being an asshole with no tact. "And it gets better. The one blackmailing him is the Winchester guy I told you about."
Now, this just got worse. Roman was aware of what that name implied; a wealthy family with many strong Huntsman in its history, but also some of the worse scumbags there is. A few exceptions here and there, of course, but they were mainly scumbags with money and influence. Dangerous scum.
If what Ash was saying was true, then there is a possibility Ozpin, or whoever checks the transcripts, can trace the paper trail to him. That would mean that the Winchesters will not only have bragging material but also an opportunity to discover Roman's business, which was the making of false documents and selling them on the black market to the highest bidder and use it as leverage.
Roman hated being under someone's thumb. Cinder was bad enough as it is, but that family is not the type to let go easily. Shit, he can only imagine what the poor bastard is going through. "Anything else you wish to tell me?"
"Other than the fact that he made an Arc oath, which I am sure you know what it means with his last name, to keep my eyes a secret? Not much."
"He saw them?" Roman asked in a grave tone.
" He made an oath, Roman, and he's an Arc. You and I both know that family's reputation regarding promises."
Roman muttered to himself for a few moments, cursing his own luck. Why? Why do the Brothers hate him so that he needs to deal with such misfortune? Oh well, at least the answers are in sight. "So? Your secret is safe?"
"The blonde got a black eye from Cardin Winchester for not telling him my secret, Roman. He can be trusted. Besides, he is too much of a dork to think of anything like blackmailing me. On the contrary, even, I don't believe he'd like getting me on his bad side now, but frankly, I don't think anyone would if they knew about my secret in the first place."
"True. They would all just focus on finding you and killing you." True, but sad. Ash had to hide behind those glasses unless he wants an angry mob running after him. "But, Ash, look, about those papers that boy submitted."
"Your doing?" Ouch. Ash got Torchwick burned.
"Side-business, but yes. And I cannot have it be found out, so care to tell me if you have a plan, or if I have to pull some strings?" Roman was not joking around, not about this. He will not risk getting the damn Winchester family on his back as well, no way. He had to get that boy to shut up somehow...Wait a minute, weren't those kids preparing for some field trip in a few days?
"Say, Ash, where is everyone going for that field trip?"
"How do you know?"
Roman chuckled. In truth, last time Neo snuck into Beacon she heard about it from the teachers who walked by her, courtesy of her semblance for them not finding out who she was. "Just answer my question, Kid."
Ash, on the other hand, was not going to allow Roman to hurt someone just to keep quiet. But he knew how to talk his language. "Forever Fall Forest. But Roman? I think you should just sit by."
Roman's expression sowed hearing that. Him? Roman Torchwick? To let possible blackmail material to lead back to him and ruin his life by becoming the dog of some scumbags? "Kid, explain yourself."
"Look, I know you want to get rid of loose ends, and frankly I think this place could do without Cardin. But don't you think him disappearing would raise questions?" It was now or never. "I mean, if the authorities find out about him blackmailing Jaune, then they might find the transcripts, and the whole thing would really go downhill. Not just for you, but for me too."
Roman remained silent for a bit to think. Ash was right, to some extend. The authorities would be an issue if they caught wind of this. "Very well." He sighed in defeat. "But you better have a plan."
"Don't worry. I know what I am doing. If something I can always dig up something on Cardin and blackmail him back."
"That's my boy." Roman was proud. Ash just managed to convince him to back down and is already considering doing counter-blackmail. Just like his father.
"Oh, by the way…" Ash sounded strange. Roman did not like it. "You might want to get an alias by the name of Blaze Auburn. I took some friends shopping and had to make up some things to hide the sudden big check."
That...That was actually basic and very easy to fix. "Alright. That is easy enough. So, care to tell me more about this Winchester? I do have some spare time I don't know what to do with later-" There was a loud echo in the warehouse, then a few yells. "Nevermind." Roman sighed. Damn animals, they can never do anything right. "See ya around, Ash." And so, the criminal went back inside to yell at the Faunus.
I know this is shorter than the others, but my inspiration was not too high when writing this. So, let us review what happened:
Jaune is learning to fight from Ash, actually getting better. And I foreshadowed the Forever Fall incident.
Roman got his new scroll and is also the one who got the blonde into Beacon. Well, he is a thief, and who knows what else.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this little fic up until now. Don't forget to leave reviews, please, for they do help.
Bloodfiend out.
