Chapter 13

With tears still running down her cheeks Lizzie had entered the Mc Guire's house again and of course Jo Mc Guire could hear the continuing sobs from her daughter very well and left the kitchen, where she was preparing the lunch for tomorrow immediately to see what was wrong. "Hey what's wrong with you and where's Gordo?" It took some minutes before she get could out an answer because she was sad and also shocked at the same time but then she replied: "Gordo kissed another girl and I can't believe that this really happened tonight!" Of Course Miss Mc Guire was pretty stunned as she heard those words out of her daughter's mouth and it was kind of difficult for to believe that Gordo would mess with her daughter's heart like that. Lizzie then finally collapsed into her mother's shoulder and let the tears flow again that she had tried so hard to suppress moments before that. Jo Mc Guire softly patted her daughter's back and tried her best to console her: "Maybe this was all a big misunderstanding and some other girl tries to get between you and Gordo, because I don't think that Gordo would ever break your heart willingly."

For a moment Lizzie considered that possibility but it didn't take very long for her negativity to take back over as she replied: "It didn't look to a misunderstanding to me because he didn't do anything to stop her!" For a slight moment her mom was a little bit shocked by that short angry outburst, because that was something that had not happened very often in the past but then she finally said: "Trust me I know how you feel right now, because I experienced the same in my teenage years and at the end I had to admit that I overreacted and because of that it's always the best to not make any premature decisions that you will maybe regret later." With one of the sleeves of her shirt she quickly wiped away some tears and replied: "Thanks for the advice mom but because I really don't know what to believe right now, I think that need some time to figure this out on my own." Of course deep down Lizzie hoped that she was wrong, that this really was just a big misunderstanding but the negative thoughts totally got the best of her right now and she couldn't help but feel betrayed by the one person that she thought was as trustworthy as Miranda: Gordo. Still in a very foul mood Lizzie slowly made her way to her room, she plopped down on her big comfy bed on the ride side of her room and as she looked at an old picture of the three amigos some tears made their way down her cheeks again.

Of course I don't want to lose Gordo as a friend but right now I'm not so sure if I'll ever be able to trust him the way I did from our first day back in kinder garden. Lizzie thought as she kept staring at the framed picture, where she stood in the middle, Gordo on the right and her other best friend Miranda on the left side and she really hated the fact that life could sometimes be so complicated.

Outside of the Italian Restaurant "Alfredo's"

With his face covered with his hands Gordo sat on the sidewalk outside the Restaurant, where the date with his new girlfriend had just went totally downhill and right now he just didn't feel like making his way back home yet because he was still trying very hard to get a grip on how this could have happened.

Five Minutes Earlier

Gordo had no chance to react as Brooke Baker suddenly shoved her tongue into his mouth and as he was finally able to push her off, the damage was already done: As he looked back at Lizzie, he saw how quickly she turned around again after she had witnessed this whole scene and he just glared at Brooke. He was so mad at her right now that he couldn't even describe it in words and he wasn't able to deal with her at this moment and so instead he quickly got up from his chair and said: "Lizzie wait! Please give me the chance to explain this."

Clearly Lizzie didn't want to listen to him, because she made no attempt to stop and turn around to face him again and so he had no other choice than to let her go even if he clearly didn't want the evening to end this way. He watched her from the restaurant until she disappeared out of his line of sight and then he turned around to verbally lash out at the girl that caused all of this: "What has gotten into you Brooke? I can't believe you would do such a horrible thing and I hope that you're proud of yourself now!"

Gordo kept sitting there on the sidewalk till he finally found the courage to get up again and as he made his way to the next bus stop of course he kept thinking: Is the relationship between me and Lizzie over before it really started? He certainly hoped that this wasn't the case, because he had not waited so long for his dream to finally come true to let it end that quick but how could he fix things between him and Lizzie again?

The Mc Guire residence

With a loud sigh Jo Mc Guire sat down again on the couch right next to her husband, who of course immediately asked: "Hey Honey tell me what's bothering you right now."

"It's about Lizzie; she just came home from the date with Gordo sobbing continuously because of the fact that she witnessed how Gordo kissed another Girl." Jo Mc Guire replied and of course she was curious on her husband's opinion on this one and she already guessed that it also would be hard to believe for him. Sam was shocked to hear this and after he took a moment to digest all the information that he had just heard he replied: "That doesn't sound like the guy that had a crush on our daughter since the fourth grade and this really has to be some kind of big misunderstanding in my opinion. "

Saturday

Of course Gordo had tried to talk to Lizzie about what had happened on Thursday but she hadn't answered any of his calls or E-mails because the emotional scar was just too fresh for her right now. She was aware of the fact that Miranda would finally return from her trip to Mexico today and she was pretty happy to have her back especially at this very difficult time. Over the next few hours she was busy with trying to figure out why Brooke did suddenly reemerge out of nowhere to screw up her relationship with Gordo or did he maybe still have some feelings for his ex-girlfriend? That was also another big factor, which made her very unsure if things would really work between her and Gordo as a real couple.

But making this so much complicated was the fact, that because of knowing him for so long she also just couldn't imagine that he would really throw away that special thing that they have together just like that and this big mess in her mind kind of gave her a big headache.

Some hours later in the afternoon the phone rang again and because she wanted to make sure, that it wasn't Gordo she looked at the Caller ID first. As she saw that it was Miranda, she picked up the receiver and answered it in her best faked happy voice she was able to do right now: "Hey Miranda, welcome home and you have no idea how much I missed you during the trip to Rome and afterwards." Miranda couldn't help but think at first that something was off with her other best friend besides Gordo but she could be wrong about that of course, so she decided to put that thought to rest for now and instead said: "I missed you chica and I hope you and Gordo enjoyed Rome."

Lizzie didn't answer at once because she didn't know if she wanted to tell Miranda about everything that happened between her and Gordo. But she wasn't able to keep any secrets from her best friend and so she said: "Yes the trip to the City of Love was quite adventurous for us and we became a couple for a short time after I kissed him on the last day in Rome but then I saw him kissing Brooke Baker on our first date and now we haven't talked to each since then."
