Chapter 15
Lizzie took her time in getting to the Gordon's residence because she still was trying to figure out what to say to Gordo and was also worried a lot, that he wouldn't even talk to her after what had happened on their first date. She stopped to take one short deep breath, before she continued her way to Gordo's house and couldn't help but wonder what he was up to right now. Meanwhile Gordo was sitting alone in his room, flipping through TV channel but he because his thoughts were somewhere else he wasn't paying to anything that happened on the screen that much attention. I can't believe that my relationship with Lizzie is maybe over before it began and I wish that I could somehow fix this big mess. He was staring at the telephone on his nightstand on the right side next to his comfy bed, thinking about calling Miranda and asking her for help in this case but he couldn't help but feel some doubt deep inside of him: Will that really help me in getting back Lizzie in any way?
Of course it was also possible that he was a little bit too pessimistic right now, but being more positive in this case was easier said than done as things weren't looking very good at this point and unfortunately for him he hadn't been able to figure out how he could get things between him and the girl of his dreams back to normal. He finally got up from his bed and decided to play a little bit with his hankysack, maybe that would help to clear his mind a little off some of those negative thoughts and deep down he hoped, that Lizzie knew that he would never hurt her like that because she definitely meant too much to him to toy with her feelings in that hurtful way.
A few minutes later he was interrupted in his thoughts as somebody knocked at his door, he shortly sighed to himself before he said: "Come in."
Then his mother Roberta Gordo entered his room completely and cut right to the chase as always: "Lizzie is sitting downstairs in the living room because she's here to talk to you, do you want me to send her up to your room?" Gordo had to think about that for a few minutes, because he was totally unsure for what he was in for: Lizzie screaming at him for what happened at Alfredo's or maybe giving him a chance to explain everything. He really didn't want to think about the worst case scenario, so he said to his mother: "Of course she can come upstairs and I hope that I have the opportunity here to get everything right." Miss Gordon then disappeared softly closing the door behind her, which left Gordo alone in his room again for the time being and he had to admit to himself: He was very nervous about what was to come, no matter how much he had tried to put all the negative thoughts to rest in the last few minutes. In the hope of calming himself down a little bit again, he sat down on the bed again taking a deep breath and hoped that the talk with Lizzie would end well.
Lizzie was very happy when Gordo's mom had finally announced to her that she could go upstairs to his room but of course a little bit of doubt still remained deep down in her mind. She stopped in the middle of the stairs, thinking this whole thing through again and one thing was crystal clear to her: If she wouldn't do this now, she would regret it very much in the end. After she had gathered all her courage together, Lizzie continued to walk up the stairs that lead directly to Gordo's room, she softly knocked on the door as she had reached and waited for a response from the inside. As she heard his voice from the other end of the door, she slowly opened the door and it took a while for to step inside the room completely and close the door behind her.
For a couple of minutes both didn't really know what to say but Lizzie finally decided to start, as she didn't want this awkward silence to last any longer: "I'm sorry Gordo for acting the way I did, it was stupid and most importantly unfair to not give you the chance to explain everything. It took me a while to realize that, also I hope that you can forgive me and besides Miranda you are still a person that I trust a lot even if it didn't seem that way."
"You don't have to apologize for anything, because I wasn't mad at you the whole time, I was just so sad how our first date ended. This really should have been our special evening; just the two of us eating a nice meal and enjoying each other's company and all that was ruined by my ex-girlfriend Brooke. Even if this sounds a little bit cliché but trust me when I say, if I could travel back in time I would certainly have prevented all of that from happening but unfortunately I can't and so instead I can just hope that you are willing to give our first date a second try." Of course he hoped that this little speech wouldn't fail to have the desired effect and it took a while for her to digest all this but then she replied: "I can't say enough how stupid it was to even not trust you for one second and of course I want to give our first date a second because I still love you and I hope you still feel the same way about me."
He now had a big smile on his face as he stood up from his bed, softly laid his hand into hers and said: "Of course I still love you and I'm really relived that we got this whole big misunderstanding out of the way." Instead of saying anything in response Lizzie closed the little distance that was between right now and kissed him directly on the mouth, of course he was surprised by this move from her but finally he gladly granted her tongue entrance into his mouth and as the two passionately kissed the time became irrelevant for them.
