Plank aimed, but he wasn't conscious of where it went.

"Kriff Plank!" Sly shouted as the shot rebounded off the rock onto his armour.

"Sorry!" Plank shouted back, embarrassed. This was NOT going well. Yikes. Not as bad as the time he took out three of his own teammates, but it was close.

Mliss paused the training program, "Plank, may I have a word with you."

That was not a question. Oh kriff...here it comes. Plank nodded and left the course, not without catching his brothers worried stares. Mliss jumped down the shaft leading to the main room and Plank climbed down after her.

"Look, Plank, we have a mission tomorrow-"

Hold on!

"Wait, we just came back from a mission!" Plank indignantly interrupted.

Mliss at least had the decency to look guilty," The council wanted another test run. I tried to dissuade then but they thought otherwise."

Plank narrowed his eyes at the Jedi Master, "Continue..."

"I was just going to say," she said with kind patience," We're going to be working with the 104th so you're going to have to protect them. Right now your too upset and your becoming distracted."

Plank glared at Mliss, "You know, "He said rather sharply, "I didn't ask to be the commander."

"Unfortunately, It was out of my hands."

Plank felt his eyes widen, "Who decided then?"

"Since the XYZ is part of the military, the chancellor personally decided."

Kriff.

"He looked at my record, "Plank squeaked.

Mliss had a small smile on her face," I recorded our training sessions. I decided that the Kamino records were out of date."

"Good," Plank didn't need the Chancellor of the whole Republic looking at all him blunders. Then he realized what was implied,"Did you look at my records?!"

"I Did, "She said apologetically.

Plank facepalmed.

"Wait!" Mliss said in realization, "Stop changing the subject!"

Plank turned around, avoiding her worried gaze, "Nothing's wrong, I'm fine,"

"Look, "Mliss said softly, "I'm not asking you to tell me, I'm asking that you talk to someone."

Plank hesitated, should he tell her? Maybe. I want to tell her... Fear exploded in him. She could do tests on him. He might have to go back to Kamino...

"I will protect you, "Mliss spoke in determinedly, reading his fear, "Whatever it is..."

Plank took a shaky breath. He'd had all night to think of the consequences...

"I-I... While you were on Kamino... I saw things." He began slowly, turning back to face her.

Mliss stayed silent, knowing perhaps that if she spoke, he would run.

"I saw what was happening. I dreamt of it. I knew we were almost too late though I didn't know exactly for what."

A weight larger than he ever imagined fell off of his shoulders.

"I-I think that I'm...Force-sensitive."Plank paused, "Even last night..."

He looked up, fear suddenly prominent on his face."You won't let them do tests on me, will you? You won't let them take me back to Kamino?"

Mliss's face was caring and understanding, then something occurred to him. Mliss knew... of course she knew. She could sense it the whole time. She knew what was wrong. She was waiting for him to tell her.

Plank buried his face in his hands."You knew." He groaned.

"I did know, "She replied softly, touching his shoulder, "I promise though, if anyone finds out, whether you tell them or not, they won't harm you. I won't let them."

Plank was quiet, contemplating whether it was right. He had to. Suddenly Plank decided, and blurted out, "Train me!"

...

"Train me!" Plank blurted out. Mliss almost laughed.

I was NOT expecting that...

Mliss cocked her head to the side, What are his intentions...

"Why do you wish this?"

Plank seemed to hesitate, then become sure, "I need to help my brothers...all my life I've been a burden. Then I was excepted into XYZ and I could help. If I can save more lives by you training me...I want that."

His intentions are pure...but does he know the costs? To be one so different amongst his brothers?

As if reading Mliss's mind, Plank spoke again.

"I know the costs, I know that some people with loathe me for being different and some with accept me. I don't CARE what they think. No one's really ever liked me anyways. But I need to save my brothers."

Kriff his good intentions...He knows but doesn't understand. How hard It'll be. Plank is still a shiny...

Plank looked at her determinedly, not as a shiny but as the Commander Mliss knew he could be.

"Please Mliss, I can do this."

Plank is right.

"I'd have to consult the council-"

"No." Plank cut her off."They'd tell the Chancellor Palpatine who'd want to do tests."

Right again.

"Otherwise I can't train you."

Planks face fell, then he looked up, "I know I am asking a lot of you...and It's ok if you say no...but what if you train me in secret?"

Break the councils trust! To be fair...I have broken most of their rules, so...

"I would be breaking the councils trust! I could be expelled from the Jedi for doing that."

Plank shifted awkwardly from foot to foot.

"I know..."

The force rippled around Plank in swirls again, this time it wasn't because of a vision but because of hope. Hope for his brothers.

It's right. Despite what the Jedi might say...or do...

Mliss smiled, she would do it.

"I will train you in secret," Mliss said calmly, "On one condition."

Planks mouth dropped open.

"You'd risk your whole career as a Jedi just because I asked!?"

Mliss smirked, sometimes it was fun to know things.

"I have faith in you."

"Ok, "Plank narrowed his eyes suspiciously, "What's the condition?"

Here's the serious part...

"If the Jedi find out that I have trained you, like they no undoubtedly will. You will let me take the fall. You say that it was my idea."

Plank looked like he was going to argue but then he swallowed his words.

"Ok." Then he smiled, "So... we're really doing this?"

"Yep... now we should get back to training. TRY and concentrate this time, Ok."

Plank grinned, "At least I didn't take out everyone."

Mliss nodded in agreement, "You'll be happy to know that I took the liberty of transferring that part of your record to a data chip. A long way away from where anyone would look."

"Thank you." Plank sighed, relieved, then he began to climb the ladder.

I have great hopes for you Plank, but it starts with you not shooting your brothers.

Mliss followed up the ladder.

...

"Remember Plank, "Mliss called to him, "Concentrate."

This should be easier now.

"Hehe, ready to continue?" Plank asked his brothers sheepishly.

Sly jabbed his blasted at him, "Only if you DON'T shoot me. That was the worst shooting I've ever seen!"

Not the worst I've seen. Or done.

Plank threw his hands up, "I promise. No more stray shots."

Snipe raised an eyebrow.

"Or purposeful blunders."Plank finished, exasperated.

"Ready everyone." Mliss cut in, "You may start."

This will be fun.

BY THE END...

"That is what I expect."Sly said sternly,"None of those mishaps."

I wonder how Mishap is doing in the 501st?

Plank jokingly humphed, "Your more stern than Mliss is."

Mliss came over with a laugh, "I believe in learning experience."

"At least we'll be ready for working with the Wolfpack." Plank said in acknowledgement.

"What!" Came the chorus of responses from his brothers.

Oops. They don't know yet.

"Yeah," He said cheerfully, "Tomorrow we're going to join them on a mission."

Sly took off his helmet and glared at him, "And WHEN were you going to tell us?!"

Pointedly, Plank said, "I actually only learnt of this 10 minuted ago, Mliss told me."

They all whipped around to Mliss, only to find her trying to slowly creep out of the room.

"I," She said nodding slowly, "Am going to finish the paperwork for this mission."

"Mhm," Sly said annoyed.

Plank gave Mliss a pointed look which she returned with a small, cheery shrug.

He turned back to his brothers, "We should get some rest, from the rumours I've heard about these guys, we're gonna have some competition."

Sly's eyes widened, "Wait...do you think that rumours are surrounding US?"

Crusher grinned brightly, "There is, my contact-"

"You have a contact?" Camo interjected, a tad jealous.

Awww! Those two are getting on so well!

"Don't worry," Crusher said, rubbing his youngest brothers hair, "He's just a brother named Eavs. I met him at the mess one night but your still my favourite brother."

"Eavs?" Plank asked surprised, "He's one of my batchmates!"

"Yeah, he still can't believe your in this squad. The stories he tells of you are hilarious!" Plank reddened significantly. What did that eavesdropping trooper tell him?

" Anyways, he says that rumours are circling like crazy after saving Kamino"

"Wow!" Sly said, a grin slowly spreading across his face, "We've reached Rumor status!"

Snipe, always levelheaded, repeated what he said earlier, "We should still get some rest if we want to live up to these rumours."

Plank immediately agreed. If only to ignore Crushers remark.

"Yes. We should. Tomorrow, we conquer the Wolfpack." Plank said, in his most commanderish voice. Crusher just chuckled.

"What!" Plank exclaimed indignantly.

"I bet, "He snickered, "We could also conquer some Mynocs."

Plank felt his face redden and his eyes widen, "HE DIDN'T!"

Crusher snickered again, "He did! "

"What?!" Sly asked intrigued, a small smile growing on his face.

Plank said nothing at the same time as Crusher said, "Just a little story about our Commander."

"I swear Crusher," Plank began warningly, "If you tell them that story."

Crusher grinned, a smug look on his face, "You'll what? Use a ration pack on me?"

Plank looked at him in comical horror. My career as a Commander is officially over!

"Tell us!" Sly begged.

"Well," Crusher said happily, "It starts like this..."
