Chapter 18

A few hours later the evening had finally arrived and after Gordo and Miranda had left to head back home she had been busy with making preparations for the romantic date with Gordo tonight. Out of one the cabinets in the kitchen she had gotten some candles to put on the table in the living room, of course the light would be off and the room would only be lit by the several candles that already stood on the dining table. Lizzie wanted everything to be perfect after their date had ended in such a disaster the last time, she wanted everything to be perfect this time and hoped that Gordo would like the dinner that she had prepared for them. The possibilities of meals to cook were limited, because of the fact that she wasn't that much experienced in cooking than her mother but she was pretty sure that he would love her pasta.

Meanwhile back at the Gordon's house, Gordo was still sitting on the bed in his room and had to admit to himself that he was excited but also very nervous about tonight's date with his girlfriend. He had been really surprised by her, as she had suggested to have the date at her house instead of having dinner in some restaurant in Hillridge again but he after a while he agreed on that suggestion and was curious what she was going to cook for them tonight. His thoughts were suddenly interrupted as his mother knocked on his door and without much hesitation Gordo said:

"Come in." Roberta was happy that things had been back to normal between her son and Lizzie, because she had known for a long time that those two were meant to be together and she had felt sorry for him as Lizzie didn't return the feelings of his son but never stopped hoping that they would get together one day.

"So are you nervous about your date tonight with Lizzie?" Gordo's Mother said and took a moment to look at outfit that his son had chosen for tonight and she was pretty sure that Lizzie would like it as much as she did. Of course Gordo was pretty nervous because of the date tonight but he also looked forward to it and hoped that nothing would go wrong this time around. Before he finally answered his mother's question he thought about that wonderful romantic moment the two already had today: Gordo stroking his girlfriend's right cheek, they just getting lost in each other's eyes for a long moment before Lizzie closed the little distance between them and for a couple of minutes the two were so busy with kissing each other that time didn't matter much to them.

"Of course I'm nervous but at the same time I can't wait to see what awaits me tonight and I hope that everything will be perfect tonight." Gordo said and then Roberta kissed her son's right cheek and shortly hugged him. Before she stood up to leave his room Miss Gordon said: "Don't worry too much David, everything will be just fine tonight okay?" Gordo just nodded in response and was very thankful was once again for the moral support he got from his mother.

Miranda and Ryan had been so busy talking with each other that they had lost track of time but before he had to leave with his parents he said: "It was nice talking with you Miranda and because we should definitely do this again, here is my mobile phone number and give me a call if you want to." Meanwhile his parents that had waited in the car for him and had thought that he was only going to bring some of his stuff into the house got a little bit worried and so Mister Fisher got out of the car to see what was taking so long.

As Mister Fisher had reached the house he saw that his son was talking a young girl, he waited a while because he really hated to interrupt their little chat but then he said: "I see that you've already met somebody new Ryan, I'm Jack Fisher Ryan's dad and it's nice to meet you." Miranda was a little surprised to see the older man practically appear out of nowhere but as she had finally recovered from that little shock she said: "Hello Mister Fisher I'm Miranda Sanchez and since we will be neighbors very soon I like to personally welcome you to Hillridge."

Mister Fisher smiled back warmly at Miranda and said: "Nice to meet you Miranda and let me assure that I and my wife are looking forward to meet the rest of the neighborhood once we've moved in the rest of our furniture by the end of the week." Then Ryan said: "The closet in my room looks really good enter and I also think that one of the walls would look awesome in blue, because I certainly don't want it to look like you enter a hospital room every time you go into my room. " Miranda couldn't help but laugh at this and as she looked into his eyes for a moment, she was sent to Cloud Nine for a couple of minutes and for a while her legs felt like they would turn to jelly at any minute and she quickly recollected herself and thought: I have to stop drooling or else I embarrass myself in front of Ryan and his dad and then I can never show myself in his presence.

Trying her best to put on a the most neutral face possible, the three said their goodbyes to each other and as the two were out of sight Miranda made her way home. Back at the Mc Guire residence Lizzie's parents were about to leave the house, dressed in a wonderful looking red dress Jo Mc Guire opened the kitchen door one last time before she and Sam would leave the house and said: "Okay then me and your dad are leaving now, so I wish you a wonderful evening honey."

"Okay thanks Mom, I wish you and Dad to have a nice time this evening too and you don't need to rush with coming home." The last past she said with a little smirk on her face, of course her mom was very well aware that her daughter was just making a joke and so she smiled and said:" Of course not Honey, because we know how much you love to be at home alone." Then Lizzie's Mom closed the kitchen door behind her and Lizzie was kind of happy that she could back her attention to preparing everything for the pasta.

AN: Looks like Ryan is the new neighbor in the street where the three amigos live and how will she react if they see each other again at that introduction event at the High School? Also Coming up: The very romantic date between Lizzie and Gordo but not everything will go according to plan there…
