Chapter 20

A little bit later the waiter finally brought them their drinks to the table and of course that meant for Gordo to let go of Lizzie's hand at least for now but right at the moment where Gordo wanted to bring out a little toast to his girlfriend they were rudely interrupted by a voice that sounded all too familiar to them. "It's so nice to meet you Gordo and Lizzie." Brooke said but said Lizzie's name in not such a happy mood as she was the girl after all who was standing in her way when it came to achieving her goal of getting back together with the cute Gordo. Slowly Lizzie then stood from her chair and Gordo could see that she wasn't pleased by Brooke's sudden appearance here in the restaurant but she also didn't want to make a big scene in front this entire people. So in the most polite way she said: "Hello Brooke nice to meet you too, but the thing is that the dinner between me and Gordo is private so I kindly ask you to go now and we can talk either later or some other time okay?"

But Brooke clearly didn't want to budge on this one, because she wasn't the kind of person that was going to let anyone else especially not Lizzie Mc Guire let her boss around and so she stepped a little bit nearer to Lizzie and said: "Sorry but that's not happening, because the way I see it Gordo surely enjoys it more to be together with than with you and I bet that you're just jealous that I look much better than you will ever do. Let me make crystal clear to you, that I always get what I want and one way or another Gordo is going to be mine again so enjoy it while it lasts." Lizzie sighed loudly, thinking to herself why Brooke would make this thing so difficult and after taking some time to think she said: "Like you where ever interested in a real relationship with anybody! That's the worst joke that I've ever heard and if you think that you can intimidate me in any way, then you're very wrong Missy because having to endure Kate Saunders antics towards me since the start of Middle School has made me kind of immune against the bullying from arrogant people like you!" Brooke then had enough of it so she pushed Lizzie a little bit away from her and you could see the anger boiling up in her eyes very well.

Gordo kind of started to get the feeling that he had to intervene, so he got up from his chair too and said as he stepped in between his girlfriend and Brooke somehow hoping to ease the tension in the room by doing that: "Please Brooke go now, because I just want to spent a peaceful with Lizzie and we can stay friends but nothing more." Meanwhile Peter had also noticed the situation between his date, another guy and a girl that he had never seen before and he couldn't help but think: What the hell was going here?

He got up from his chair and as he stepped nearer to the three persons he said: "Brooke can you tell what is going on here?" It took a quite a while but then Brooke finally stepped away from Lizzie and of course she clearly didn't want to have this kind of conversation right now, so she sighed shortly and then replied: " Me and Lizzie are just having a little disagreement didn't we?" Lizzie was determined to set this whole thing straight right here and right now as she said: "You can fool all the guys in the world, but stay away from Gordo because he's my boyfriend and leave us out of your little games! " Peter was stunned by this revelation and he couldn't really believe it, that he had been so stupid of letting himself by used by girl like that but the more important thing was now: How could he get out of this mess now?

There was a longer silence between both parties, as all of them weren't so sure what to say next before Brooke's date finally took the initiative: "I can't believe what I'm hearing! You honestly asked me for a date for a couple of weeks when you were just me in reality to stalk on your ex-boyfriend and I think that I have enough you because making me look a total idiot is a very low blow." Then he left the restaurant quite in a hurry, Brooke didn't have a slight chance to get out one single word in her defense and Lizzie couldn't help but grin at this.

Brooke on the other hand of course was fuming and got even angrier as she saw that Lizzie was still smiling because of what had just transpired and Gordo had to step in between her and his girlfriend as Brooke looked like she wanted to rip Lizzie's head off right here right now. Still fuming because of what just had happened Brooke said with gritted teeth: "This isn't over Mc Guire not by a long shot!" Then a little bit later both their meals finally arrived at their table and both were very happy to be able to focus back on their date.

Making sure that nobody was watching them, Lizzie put some spaghetti on her fork and said: "Even if that is totally cliché for the first date I want you to have some of my great tasting spaghetti." Gordo hesitated for a moment but then he just nodded, closed the little distance between them and then Lizzie landed her fork with the spaghetti right into his mouth. She couldn't help but softly caress his right cheek for a moment and the two just looked deeply into each other's eyes for the next couple of minutes. Both quickly got out of their little trance as they realized that their meals would get cold at any minute if they would keep them untouched for much longer and so they concentrated back on eating.
