Chapter 22
The big day had finally come Lizzie had been busy with preparing for that big introduction event at the Hilridge High School and for quite a while she had practically lost track of time as she was so deeply into the conversation with Miranda about the possible outfits they were going to wear on this very special day. Even if her closet was pretty full with all different kinds of outfits, Lizzie had a hard time choosing the right one for today but that was probably one of the typical problems that only girls seemed to have. "This is really bad Miranda! I've got so many outfits in my closet and I still don't know which one to wear because a lot of them would definitely be not right for this introduction event at the High School. "
Miranda thought about everything that her best friend had just said and after a while she finally was able to come up with one idea, which was definitely a pretty good one in her opinion: "Why don't wear that wonderful looking red blouse with the white stripes? You always looked so good in it in combination with comfortable blue jeans. " Lizzie had to think about that for a whole, got the red blouse out of her closet and looked in the mirror to see if it really fits because she always wanted to be a hundred percent sure about wearing a outfit before making her final decision about it. Knowing very well that her good friend would want to look extra nice at the introduction event for Gordo, Miranda wasn't surprised one bit that her blonde best friend took a little bit longer than usual to decide about her outfit and she couldn't help but think how cute that was.
"Okay I'm wearing the red blouse, so do you need any help with choosing your outfit?" Lizzie asked and while she patiently waited for the response from her best friend, she put the phone on her night stand for a moment so that she quickly could get dressed. Miranda on the end of the line couldn't help but think about her meeting with Ryan: Will I see him again soon? I just hope that I don't make a fool of myself again this time around.
She thought about what to say for a while, being a little bit unsure if she should tell Lizzie about the short meeting with Ryan and his dad or not because she still was kind of embarrassed about the fact how the whole thing went. But on the other side she never did keep any secrets from her before and it didn't take her long to realize that starting with that now wasn't an option worth considering for her. So she took an barely audible breath and said: "We've got new neighbors in the street, I met them yesterday and the Fisher's have a very cute looking son Ryan but unfortunately for me I made a fool out of myself and barely got any words out of my mouth because I was so busy with drooling over him! Can you believe that?"
"I'm so happy to hear that and maybe you will see him again soon, so that the next talk you have might be less awkward than the first one. There's no need to embarrassed, being nervous when you stand in front of a cute looking guy is just natural and don't forget that nobody is perfect Miranda." Miranda meeting her Mister Right was definitely a good thing and if it would be necessary she would definitely try her best to coach Miranda in the matters of love a little bit, because she wanted nothing more than her best friend also having a nice guy by her side that really cared about her. After quite a while Miranda finally said: "Thank you for that little pep talk chica, you know that this means a lot to me and considering the outfit problem I've already got it covered so don't worry about me."
"That's good to hear Miranda and I can't wait to see your outfit this afternoon." Lizzie said and secretly she hoped that they would meet Ryan there too, because considering her best friends awkwardness around guys she might be able to help her a little bit out.
Back at the Gordon's house Gordo had chosen his outfit for the big day long ago and as he sat there on his bed and looked at a picture from his girlfriend, he couldn't but wonder what she would be wearing at the Hillridge High School Introduction Event and he really looked forward to meeting his future classmates. He was interrupted in his thoughts as he heard a soft knock on the door; he slowly put back the photo on his nightstand and then said: "Come in."
His father Howard Gordon then entered the room of his son and said: "You are ready for the High School Introduction Event and excited to meet your new class mates?" Seeing how his son opened up in a new chapter in his life, brought him back to his days at High School where he met his wife Roberta for the first time and knowing that Gordo, Lizzie and Miranda were staying together was definitely a great thing as the three had become inseparable since kindergarten. Also he was so happy that his son and his long time crush were finally together as a couple, because he had wished that happen for so long as he always knew how much she meant to him.
"Yes I'm ready for it dad and I'm also really looking forward to start High School with Lizzie and Miranda." Gordo said and starting his High School with Lizzie as his girlfriend would be a great thing for sure but it also meant a lot to him that the three amigos would also stay together during High School.
"You probably also a little bit nervous to start High School as I was when I left Middle School but don't let the bigger pressure that awaits you in High School intimidate you on bit, because I know that you're going to do great in High School and no matter what happens me and your Mom will always have your back." After this little pep talk his father stood up from the bed again and left his son's room leaving Gordo alone with his thoughts again.
One hour later
Together with their families Lizzie, Gordo and Miranda sat in the big sports hall. Of course Lizzie and Gordo held onto each other's hand the entire time as they listened to the speech of the High School Principal Mister Johnson but what Miranda didn't know yet, was that Ryan would start his first year of High School together with them too, as the Fisher's had just moved here because of the new jobs that Mister and Miss Fisher had got here in Hillridge after they had lost their previous ones because of budget cuts at their former employers.
It wasn't easy for Ryan to not show it, that he was quite bored by the speech from the Principal but he did his best to hide as he didn't want to get into an argument with his parents right now but he still thought deep down that the sooner this was over the better.
