Chapter 26

After their little trip to the café Miranda, Ryan, Lizzie and Gordo went their seperate ways leaving Gordo and Lizzie to themselves and Gordo was glad to have some alone time with her again. Of course he had enjoyed the whole „double date" thing and even it may sound a little egotistical on his part: He really loved to the fact to not be forced to share her attention with anyone. He held onto her right hand the entire time on the way back home before he asked:

„Is it just me or did you also notice that Miranda acted a little bit weird around our new neighbor?" Lizzie couldn't say that she was surprised by this question, because there was practically nothing that went by him unnoticed and of course she had been busy the most time of their way back home to try and come up with some genius plan to get Ryan and Miranda together as a couple.

„I know why Miranda acted the way she did: Our friend has a huge crush on Ryan and I'm planning playing matchmaker with those two." She said with a big grin on her face and she knew that she would suceed with her plan one way or another. Gordo had a huge grin on his face too and he couldn't help but think: I knew it! Not the smallest things go by me unnoticed.

Of course he would be so happy for Miranda if she would finally find her Mister Right too and he was definitely willing to play his part in making her plan a success.

„Okay but it looks to me like you still have a long way ahead of you, to make this plan of yours a success and of course I'll be happy to help you in any way possible along the way." Gordo said and as a response Lizzie just gently kissed him on his left cheek instead of saying anything and that kind of proved to her again, why they were such a perfect match for each other and she still had to wonder why it had taken her so long to realize that. Meanwhile Miranda was still so angry at herself for acting like a love sick teenager in front of Ryan, who she had fallen in love with at first sight and that had happened rarely to her so far. I wouldn't be surprised if he would have never to do with me after today, because of the way I embarrased myself today in front of one the cutest guys in Hillridge besides Ethan Craft.

She tried to shook off that negative thoughts as she tried her best to look at it from a much more positive side: Maybe she was being to paranoid about this whole thing and maybe Ryan would forget about today faster than she thought, but on the other side that was also all speculation and she didn't have any prove for both theories so far.

Having the shortest way back home from the Café, Ryan was already back home and he couldn't help but think about one of his new classmates, which he had met just today because he had to admit that she was kind of cute. It seemed to him that she must feel the same way about him, as he couldn't help but notice how weird she acted the entire time but after the way his last relationship had ended, he wasn't so sure if he was ready to begin another one.

Flashback

Ryan had been happy with way things were going with Samantha, they had been happy together as a couple for almost three years now and it really felt to him like he had been walking on Cloud Nine the entire time, even if that may sound a little too much girly but that was the just the way he felt about the whole thing. The two met up before their first class they shared on this school day in front of the class room, he gave her a gentle kiss on her forehead and asked:

„Do you have time after school to do something together? I would love to have a little bit of alone time with you tonight, since my parents won't be home the whole evening as they will eating with some friends and I will have the whole house to myself."

He hoped that she would say yes, because they didn't have so much time for each other in the past weeks because of all the learning for the tests that had been written in numerous classes and he definitely needed a break from that.

„Of course I would love to come but I can't, because I promised to Jessica to learn with her for her biology test next week." Of course she knew deep down that this was a lie but the bitter fact was, that she was not ready yet to say it to his face that she was already seeing someone else because she had the feeling that things weren't working out between them anymore. She could see the dissapointment on his face as he heard her utter those words, but somehow she hoped that he would understand what she did when she was ready to end this relationship.

Three Weeks later

Samantha had been quiet distant in the past two weeks and slowly but surely, he started to have a very bad feeling about this and couldn't help but think that she was indeed hiding something from him. After doing some thinking he finally decided that he needed to talk to her urgently to get this out of the way, so wrote a message on his cellphone and then paitiently waited for her to reply to it. A little while later he had to realize that the bell for the first class of the day would ring very soon and his girlfriend was nowhere to be seen to his surprise and so he decided to search for her and hoped that he was just being paranoid for no reason.

But what he saw next a few minutes later made him stop dead in his tracks: There she stood just a few feet away from him with some other guy standing nearby really close and it was pretty obvious that they were right in the middle of kissing each other.

End Flashback

AN: So it looks like that Miranda and Ryan are both attracted to each other, but Ryan has some bad memories about his last relationship that begin to haunt him again, Will he get over this bad experience with some help maybe?
