"Rock, paper, scissors shoot,"

"Damn it! A tie! Again!"

"Son of a- How?"

"Guys, seriously we need to decide our songs,"

"Tell him to change his mind," Nate said.

Sara sighed, rubbing her forehead, "Ray, please be the tiebreaker,"

"I don't want to get in the middle of this,"

The Legends had decided on their songs for the concert... or mostly had. Wally and Nate were butting heads on which song they wanted to perform for the boy's routine.

"Ray, come on buddy, you have just as much say in this. You're part of this too,"

"Oh no. No," Wally cut in, "You'll just agree with Nate,"

"No, Ray's going to pick the better song. Which is mine,"

"Mhmm," Ray rubbed the back of his head, "About that…"

"No… Ray, no,"

"Wally's song is… it's better for a performance,"

"No," Nate fell to his knees, "I've never been so betrayed before,"

"YAS!" Wally punched the air and clapped Ray's shoulders from behind, "Thank you big man,"

Sara patted Nate's head, "We can do your song next time,"

"Not unless Nate gets a better taste in music," Zari said.

Nate glared at her.

"You can try to melt me with your eyes, doesn't make me any less right,"

A knock on the door interrupted them, Stein walking into the room, a large stack of papers tucked under his arm.

"I hope I'm not getting in the way of practice," He said.

"Nah, Professor we were just finishing up a team meeting,"

"Wonderful. I need your help,"

"Sure, name it,"

"The first batch of posters for the concert just arrived," He held up the stack for them to see.

"Yo," Jax hopped up, taking the stack from him, "These are sweet,"

"Indeed. Sweet, as you say. I was hoping you'd help put these up,"

"Yeah, we can all take some," Ray said, "Spilt up, we can cover a large area," He pulled up a map on his phone and started dividing the city by districts and highlighting the highest traffic areas for them to hit.

With a fond laugh, Sara said to Stein, "We got this professor. By tomorrow half the city will be covered,"

"I'd expect nothing less. I'll leave you too it then," Stein said with a nod of his head.

"Sara can you and Zari cover midtown? Lots of corner stores with mixed clientele. Perfect mixed bag to advertise in,"

"Actually, Z is coming with me," Charlie said, throwing her arm around Zari's shoulder and pulling her in with a wink.

"Oh, okay, but who'll go with the Cap?" Nate asked, "We already paired everyone else off,"

"Why don't you ask Sharpe to join you?" Charlie smirked at Sara who rolled her eyes.

"Real subtle," Sara snorted.

"Thank you,"

She took a breath, stepping out of their rehearsal room, crossing to the door she could hear Violin music coming form. She knocked.

The music stopped and the door opened a moment later.

"Oh, Sara hi,"

"Hey," Sara smiled, "No Gideon today?"

"She was here, but got an important call,"

"Yeah, concert prep has us all burning the candle twice over,"

"Yeah,"

"Geez, just ask her Cap,"

Sara glared over her shoulder when she heard the whisper. The Legends were all peeking over the room, pushing one another down or tiptoeing over each other to see. When she turned their heads disappeared inside the room.

"Do you have something to ask me?" Ava asked, her amusement breaking her expression as she leaned around her, catching sight of their friends too.

"I hate them," Sara muttered.

"Clearly," Ava laughed.

"We got flyers," Sara held up one for her.

"That's great,"

"Do you want to come with me to put up around town?"

"Oh, really? With the Legends,"

"Um, just me. We're splitting up,"

"Oh," Ava's cheeks turned pink, "That makes sense. More efficient,"

"Right," Sara nodded, "But you don't have to come. I mean I do this myself," There was the clear sound of a facepalm from the other room.

"No," Ava cut in, stopping Sara ramble, for which she was grateful for, "I mean yes. I mean, two people would be faster than one. Someone to hold the flyers. Another to pin them up,"

And there was another clear facepalm.

"Cool," Sara said, ignoring the sounds her friends were making, "So we've got midtown,"

"Yeah. Sounds good, let me just put my stuff away," She retreated into the room, putting her violin and sheet music away.

The other Legends came up now, Nate and Ray shooting Sara thumbs up. Charlie gave her wink and Sara rolled her eyes. She made a note to kill them later.

"Hey, Ava," Wally said with a wide grin as she joined them, her violin case slung over her back.

"Hi,"

"Okay everyone, we're burning daylight," Ray said, "I'll send everyone their areas and information to help,"

"What information could we possibly need to put up fliers?" Zari asked.

"Its people with that kind of attitude who hang fliers that end up in the gutter in two days,"

"Alright if you say so,"

They split up the train station, Sara and Ava stood, waiting for a midtown train.

"Is that a new violin case?"

Ava turned the case towards Sara so she could see it.

"Yeah,"

"It's bigger,"

"I need to fit more stuff now. Ann bought me a new violin as a gift. It's electric,"

"Cool. I didn't miss your birthday or something? That seems like a big gift,"

"No. No birthday. Honestly, I was a little pissed when I found out how much they spent,"

"Do I want to ask?"

"Please don't,"

They train pulled up and they got on together, grabbing seats up front.

"So, why the big expensive gift? Did they win the lotto? If they won the lotto please tell them I want a big expensive gift too,"

Ava laughed, "No, they didn't win the lotto. Umm," Ava fidgeted with her hands, "Actually they bought it because I almost threw out my violin that night we got back from the ballet,"

"Wait, because of what happened with your mom?"

"…Yeah,"

"What? Ava, you can't let her stop you from doing what you love,"

"Funny that's what Ann said. They stopped me. We had a long talk about it that night,"

"I get it, I met your mom once and she seems awful. But you're amazing,"

"Thank you," Ava glanced down, her cheeks red, "I didn't want anything to do with her again. The violin was part of that. I've been, holding back with my music. I can feel it. I think it's because I don't know if want to keep doing it. I don't know if it's mine or its hers. But then, Ann came home the next day and they had this," She patted the violin case, "They bought a whole kit. You should see it. The amp at home is amazing and they got a mini one I can take around. Plus, I can just jack headphones into it," She chuckled, "Though, Ann said that's more their own sanity when I want to practice until 12 at night. The violin itself is beautiful," She opened the case, pulling the instrument out.

The spine of the violin was unchanged from a traditional instrument, but the body itself was the real draw. The base was larger, to accommodate a chinrest, but other than that the body was this hollow, sleek curving moulded piece of metal, deep blue with silver accents.

"That's sick," Sara reached for it, but stopped short, "Can I?"

Ava passed it over. She turned it in her hands, admiring the unique shape.

"Hey, where can I get an Ann?"

Ava laughed, "They are kind of great, aren't they?"

"More than kind of,"

"With this, I don't feel the same tie to all my mother's baggage that comes with my classical violin,"

"I didn't even realize it was an electric violin I heard before,"

Ava hummed, "The sound is different. Not in a bad way. Just different,"

"Different can be good,"

"Yeah," Ava smiled at her, "It can,"

"Can I hear you play it?"

"You heard me at the center,"

"Yeah, but I didn't realize it was a new instrument,"

"Later,"

"Oh come on, please," Sara pouted.

"Don't do that,"

"Do what?" Sara batted her eyes.

"Argh, you're impossible,"

"You mispronounced adorable,"

"I mispronounced annoying,"

"Please,"

"Later,"

"You promise?"

"I promise,"

Sara held up a pinkie.

"You're a child, you know that,"

"I'm waiting,"

Ava wrapped her pinkie around Sara's. "A child," She repeated. Sara giggled.

"Oh wow," Ava said as she looked down at her phone, "Ray actually sent advice on how to staple posters,"

"If that surprises you about Ray Palmer we haven't spent nearly enough time together,"

"He knows how best to staple posters?"

"Ray knows how best to have coffee. According to him it's with butter,"

"Ew,"

"Eh, it's not that bad,"

Ava arched a brow.

"Don't judge me. I was being a good friend when I tried it,"

Their stop was the next one. Starting from the train station itself they placed posters any suitable place they could find, sometimes ducking into a store asking if they could leave some there. An hour or so later they were leaving a bakery a few fliers lighter and two slices of chocolate cake and some coffee heavier.

"Only a few more," Sara said, counting the posters she had in her hands.

"I have an idea," Ava said, stopping on the curb.

"Is it tossing the fliers off a bridge? Cause the pdf Ray sent said that could be dangerous for drivers and pedestrians,"

Ava arched a brow at her, "You read it?"

"I told you, I'm a good friend,"

"No, that wasn't my idea," She slid her bag off her shoulder, taking out a small amp and her violin. She handed Sara the violin as she got the rest of things she needed.

"You're going to play?"

"There's decent foot traffic,"

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

Ava took the violin back as she jacked it in, "Yeah I am," she said with a confidence Sara hadn't seen in her, not when it came to music.

She played a few notes as a test and then with a breath she launched into a song.

Sara did a double-take, "Is that… are you playing Beyoncé?"

"Is that no allowed?" She asked with a grin.

"No, but I just didn't know you knew pop,"

"Shut up," Chuckling, Ava continued to play. A few people stopped nearby to listen. Sara was so caught up in listen she almost forgot to hand out the flyers. Ava flowed from one song right into another. This time it sounded like a song from a movie, but Sara couldn't quite place where she knew it from.

"Sara," Ava called as she about to start another song. She played the few notes and both Sara's eyebrows shot up. It was Sweet Dreams, their song from the showcase, "Ready?"

"Oh heck yeah," She placed the flyers under the amp and bounced on the balls of her heels. She looked at Ava, waiting for her started. Putting the bow to her strings, she took a deep breath, closing her eyes. Raising three fingers she dropped them, just before she started the song again.

It was second nature for Sara to find a flow to the melody. The crowd fell away into blurry colours at the edges of her vision. The routine from the showcase needed the rest of the Legends for the impact to hit, so she freestyled most of it. She found herself drawing on more ballet. It might have been Coppelia still fresh in her mind. It might have been the violin. But that's what she fell into. She didn't know how good it looked, her frankensteined mix of styles. She was aware in the back of her mind she needed to make a good impression that would hopefully translate into ticket sales, but if she slacked, Ava's playing would make up the difference.

The showcase had ended with a flip, one she hadn't practised since. She considered for a beat not doing it here. But she glanced at Ava and maybe a bit of a competitive side flared seeing how well she was playing. She didn't think on it further, kicking off the ground with the final flourishes of the song. Her knees took the impact harder than she would have liked, but she was still standing. She spread her hands as she straightened.

When she looked to Ava she was wearing a huge smile. That was the moment they both realized there was a round of applause. Blushing, Sara took a bow, Ava following her lead.

"Shit, right," Sara rushed to the flyers, handing them out to the crowd, "We'll be performing at Acier Paragon Theatre, and proceeds will be going to Star City Glades' Youth and Performance Center,"

"Do you want to go again?" Ava asked.

"Absolutely,"
