Note: Just to let you know again there will be some things different about this series that aren't present in the game or anime. I don't want to bore you by repeating things that happend in the anime or game and I also want to get creative as possible. Calem's and Serenea POV

Calem and Serena were walking down the road back to Vaniville Town, it was sunset and there were Fletchling flying in the air, and a nice breeze in the air. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and all was peaceful. Serena and Calem finally made it past the gate and were in front of Calem's house. Froakie and Fennekin were already ahead and were playing. Just then Calem's Ryhorn let out a loud screech and yawned.

"Looks like someone just woke up" Calem said rubbing the Pokemons head with a smile

"Wow Calem, you just moved here and you already won you first battle" Serena said

"When I was a little kid I read every magazine on how to be a good trainer and would watch videos of peoples matches so I could get better" Calem said

"Same for me, I would play for hours when I was little and strategize on every way" I could win a battle" Serena happily said

"I want to beat all the gym leaders and become the Champion of Kalos" Calem said

"Me too, but I'll become Champion first!" Serena as if that was a fact

"Your on!" Calem said happily

"Ok, then were RIVALS!" Both of them said at the same time

Calem walked in and opened the door to his house, instead to be greeted instantly by his Mom and Fletchling.

"Fletch, fle" Fletchling said hoping on Calem's head

"Welcome back Calem, I see you already made friends" Grace said while hugging Calem.

"Fletchhhh!" Fletchling squeaked trying not to get turned into a pancake by the hug.

Serena smiled seeing the three get along so well. She wished it could be the same for her family...

"I'm Serena, it's nice to meet you!" Serena said

"Sorry for not introducing myself, I'm Grace, Calem's Mom!" Grace said while pulling Calem

"Oh so you both choose a Pokemon, let me see them!" Grace said eagerly

Serena and Calem both turned around and let Grace see their Pokemon. Froakie immediately went over to Fletchling while Fennekin stayed next to Serena.

"Aww, the look so cute" Grace said

"Thanks!" both of them said

"Anyways, Mom my Pokemon is actually a gift from Professor Sycamore who wants us to go on journey and help complete the pokedex!" Calem said

"Of course I'll let you go, just make sure to come back often" Grace said

Calem handed Grace his Letter of Approval, which Grace then promptly signed. Now Calem could officially begin his journey.

"Ok thanks Mom" Calem said as him and Serenea were slowly walking towards the door

Calem and Serenea put their respective Pokemon back in their pokeballs, and said by to Grace as Calem opened the door

"Okay let's go to my house next" Serena said

"Fletch, ling" Fletchling quickly said as it flew over to Calem with a Pokemon ball in its beak.

"Do you want to come with me Fletchling?" Calem said tense

Fletchling nooded her head. All was tense, once Fletchling joined Calem's team there would be no turning back. Fletchling gently pressed her beak on the button of the Poke Ball as the Poke Ball opened up and the red light slowly absorbed her. The Poke Ball bounced on the ground and shook once.

"I always sniff, knew Fletchling wanted to go on a journey with you sniff " Grace said with tears in her eyes

"Wow you got chosen by your Pokemon so quickly" Serena said in awe

The pokeball then shook a second time for what seemed like forever to Calem. Finally the pokeball shook for the third time, and the button of the pokeball shined green, and a ding sound rung throughout the house.

"Congrats" Serena said

Calem picked up Fletchling's pokeball, and smiled. Fletchling and Calem could finally go on the journey they always wanted to go on.

"Ok let's go to my house now" Serena said

The two walked out the door and walked to Serena's house. However Serena was starting to get nervous not because her parents wouldn't let her go on a journey, but for a different reason...

Serena opened the door to be instantly greeted by her parents waiting on the couch.Wait did I do something wrong? Serena thought

"Mom, Dad I picked my partner and I'm heading off to start my Journey" Serena said trying hard to stay calm

"Good luck" Serena's Mom said, trying not to break down in tears

Serena's parents then signed Serena's Letter of Approval, now Serena could officially begin her journey. Serena and Calem were starting to make their way out of Serena's house when her dad stood up, and crossed his hands.

"Don't leave so quickly Serena..Poke Star Studios called today and told use you registered for the tournament" Serena's Dad said with a stern look.

"What's wrong with doing that???" Serena said "I want to be a performer and a trainer" Serena said

"I will not have you be a performer, you barely make any money doing that, and it's a waste of time. It'll mess up your career as a trainer" Her Dad barked

"Why are you always against her" Serena's Mom said

"Because she doesn't know what shes doing, and being a performer is stupid and a waste of her time!!" Serena's Dad said

"Please..." Serena collapsed to the ground and tears began streaming down her face

"It's what I want to d-" Serena tried to say

"I don't care what you want, these days you all got your head in a performer book, you don't even practice battle with me anymore with the PokemonI give you" Serena's father butted in

Serena's Mom could tell this would go nowhere. She breathed in and stepped up between Serena and her husband.

"Since you won't change your mind, how about a Pokemon battle then, if Serena wins she gets to be a performer, and if she loses then she can't be a performer then" Serena's Mother said

BATTLE BEGIN!

Serena V Serena's Dad

"Go Fennekin!"

"Crush them Bellsprout"

Serena took out her pokedex. She held it near Bellsprout and it opened up.

"Zzt, Bellsprout the grass flower Pokemon. A Grass and Poison Type. Bellsprout's thin and flexible body let's it bend and sway to avoid any attack, however strong it may be. From its mouth, this Pokemon spits a corrosive fluid that melts even iron."

"Stay alert Fennekin, this battle is really important to me.

"Fennekin use Ember!"

"Bellsprout doge it"

Fennekin charged its body and shot a small burst of flame at Bellsprout. However Bellsprout merely ducked and slid underneath the Ember already closing the distance beaten the two.

"Now jump up and use Toxic Bellsprout!"

Bellsprout jumped up and released a puff of dark purples cemicals which covered Fennekin.

"Fenne, kin" Fennekin said as it became poisoned. Fennekin stiffened and struggled but looked back at Serena with a determined look on her face.

"You can do it, I believe in you, now jump up in the air and spin around, then use Ember!"

Fennekin jumped up high in the air and began to spin around. Fennekin then charged a burst of flame at Bellsprout, only now the Ember was spinning too!

"What! Bellsprout quick dodge it"

Bellsprout tried to weave and duck but the spinning Ember seemed to be following it. Bellsprout was then hit head on by the Ember and fell back. However Fennekin took a little damage from the poison.

"Alright Bellsprout use your vines to grab Fennekin"

"Block it with Scratch"

Bellsprout extended two vines from it's body, the vines immediately started heading towards Fennekin. However Fennekin cut threw the vines with her claws and charged towards Bellsprout. Bellsprout shocked, hesitated and was raked by sharp claws!

"Alright good job Fennekin"

Bellsprout slammed to the ground! Bellsprout struggled for a few seconds but managed to get back up.

"Yeah were stronger than that Bellsprout, now use Vine Whip"

"Wait for it Fennekin"

"Kin" the fox nodded

Bellsprout extended two vines and the headed towards Fennekin again, however Serena had a plan.

"Now use Ember on it's Vines"

"Fenn"

Fennekin shot an Ember at Bellsprout's vines. Bellsprout vines were soon in Flames. Bellsprout shocked started running around but fell to the ground with swirls in its eyes.

"Grr, Bellsprout return!" "Now come out Rhydon" Serena's Dad grinned knowing the battle was over

"Hey, I only have Fennekin that's not fair" Serena said

"All of my Pokemon against yours, besides I only have these 2 anyway" her dad said slightly annoyed

Serena held her pokedex to Rhydon.

"Zzzt Rhydon the rhyhorn Pokemon, Rhydon's horn can crush even uncut diamonds. One sweeping blow of its tail can potentially one hit-Ko an enemy!"

"Wow we need to stay careful Fennekin"

"Fen" Fennekin howled ready to do battle

"Rhydon use Anicent Power!"

"Quick Fennekin doge it"

Rhydon closed its eyes and a couple of rocks formed. Ryhdon concentrated and the Rocks began to head towards Fennekin at lightning speed. Fennekin tried to doge it, but stiffened from the poison. As a result Fennekin took the full force of all the rocks.

"Fenn"

Fennekin flew so fast and quick it landed in Serena's arms, Fennekin groaned and black swirls formed in it's eyes.

BATTLE END

"Fennekin is unable to battle...therefore Serena's Dad is the winner" Calem said gloomily

"Noooooo!" Serena said sobbing

"Here's a Oran berry for Fennekin" Serena's Mom said quickly

Fennekin woke up and sniffed the berry. It then took a few bites and got out of Serena's arms. However knowing what this meant, it looked into Serena's eyes with sadness.

"You see, being a performer will just mess up you career as a trainer" Serena's Dad said aggroantly

Calem frowned, he didn't like seeing Serena this upset, he had to do something he decided.

"People have different dreams, you can't just control their lives" Calem said defaintly

"Why should you care" Serena's Dad barked

"Because that's what friends do" he said offering Serena a hand from the ground

Serena's POV

Serena sniffed and held back her tears, why is Calem doing all this for me she wondered. Could this mean what I think she thought hopefully.

"I challenge you to a battle" Calem said
