Hey guys! So this will probably be only a few more chapters and then I will do a SeOul fic for everyone. I might also post a new fic based off the K-drama W... Most likely a one-shot or two depending on if anyone would be interested in reading them. So let me know.

Enjoy!

"Oh Noona, I'm sorry!"

Ha Ni stood frozen, the cold foam dripping off her eyes, and into her mouth. Not to mention every other part of her anatomy that she didn't care to think about. It was sticky and filling her mouth with a horrible taste of glue and bubbles.

"Towel," she croaked out with a disgusted gurgle. Eun Jo quickly swiped a dish towel and handed it to her with another low murmur of apology. Ha Ni could tell he was desperately trying not to laugh and since she was currently freezing and feeling like someone had dumped her into a volcanic swamp, she was glad he managed to restrain himself.

"Eun Jo," Ha Ni said calmly as she wiped her face. "I think you used too much solution."

He nodded with a sigh. The amusement fading from his eyes as he stared down at his science project which was due in a matter of a few days.

"What am I going to do?" He groaned as he knelt to the misshapen lump of crepe paper that resembled something close to a volcano. "I don't understand why it shot out instead of oozy slowly?"

"I don't know," Ha Ni looked sadly down at her soaked scrubs. "Are you sure you followed the instructions?"

"Yeah. And I did it in class today with no problems." Eun Jo glared at his projection in frustration. "Maybe I need to rebuild the structure."

"Hmm." Ha Ni agreed as she walked to the hall mirror, her eyes widening in horror as she caught a glance at her face. "BAEK EUN JO! I'm completely blue!"

The boy froze as she barreled back into the room. Her face and chest were completely stained with big puffs of foam clinging to her hair.

"Tell me this comes off with water?" Ha Ni gasped, her nerves increasing as he only stared at her. "Eun Jo?"

At the loud shriek, he dove for the box and scanned the contents, gulping slightly as he met her gaze nervously. "Um… It says one should avoid direct skin contact as the solution may cause irritation and staining for up to a week."

Her eyes widened as she quickly snatched the box from him. "What? A week-Eun Jo!"

"Well look on the bright side…" Eun Jo said happily. "At least Hyung isn't here to see you resembling some sort of blueish lake monster."

Ha Ni growled at him and catching the rare look of warning, he quickly grabbed his computer. "I will look for a way to get it off."

"Thank you."

Wiping vigorously with the towel, Ha Ni headed upstairs. Maybe if she took a shower quick enough, it wouldn't have time to set.

As she stepped under the spray and watched the swirl of gunk flowing the drain, she whispered a quick prayer of thanks that for once Seung Jo wasn't here to see his wife's latest calamity. Her husband had been in China for almost two weeks now and except for the brief message telling her he had arrived safely, they had not really spoken.

And despite missing him like crazy and the overwhelming urge to call him, Ha Ni was determined to let him enjoy this in peace for once. She knew in their relationship she tended to deal with jealousy and desperation to be apart of every section of Seung Jo's life. Which sometimes created tension between them.

Because of the way his brain worked, Seung Jo would shut down when faced with a problem or puzzle he couldn't solve within five minutes creating tunnel vision from anything or anyone else around him.

If he was working on a particular lab or thinking through a certain patients illness, he wasn't able to break away from it. Which had taken Ha Ni a long time to understand. She had always thought it meant he didn't love her as much as his studies but now she knew it just the way he operated. Along with finally realizing that his attention for her was different but no less diligent. Seung Jo was just more private about it. He didn't like big, grand displays of affection or romantic trivial things.

So, Ha Ni had come to appreciate and value the simple moments with Seung Jo. Such as at night when he would curl around her and quietly ask her about her day. Or when her head would be hurting violently from a migraine and he would know simply by the look on her face. And despite what people might perceive as his cold and uncaring nature, he tended to let his guard down when they were alone and become oddly playful.

"Ha Ni," Seung Jo leaned against the doorframe, folding his arms in amusement. "What are you doing?"

"Mediating."

"Upside down?" He asked dryly as he took in the sight of his wife currently standing on her head in the corner of their bedroom. Her legs straight up against the wall and her feet pointed to the ceiling.

"Yes." Ha Ni sighed. "One of the other nurses told me it helps our brain function to have a more direct blood flow."

Seung Jo raised his eyebrow. "Since when do you care about brain function?"

Accustomed to his teasing, she simply stuck her tongue out at him not even bothering to open her eyes. "You're not funny. Now go away. You're disturbing my zen."

He pushed himself up and walked over to kneel down next to her. "How long have you've been… mediating?"

"An hour."

"What?" Seung Jo gaped at her and immediately jumped up to grab her legs. "Ha Ni, you're not going to be able to walk!"

"I'm fine." Ha Ni insisted and lifted one hand to wave him off. "They don't even tingle any more."

"That's because they are locked up." Seung Jo said in exasperation. His eyes growing concerned as he knelt back down to her. "What's wrong?"

She sighed in frustration. "Kim Song Mi. Her condition doesn't seem to be improving and I can't figure why? Her diabetes is being carefully monitored by her parents. They are following all the dietary lists we've provided but her sugar is still too high. We can't get it under control."

Ha Ni looked at him worriedly. "I've looked and looked at all her blood tests, scans, and everything else. And I just feel like we are missing something. But I can't figure out what it might be? So hence…" She trailed off and closed her eyes again with a sigh. "Mediating."

"Is it working?"

"No."

"What's plan B?"

"Chocolate."

Seung Jo laughed softly as he reached up to playfully pull her toe. "I bought some chocolate ice-cream for you last night."

Ha Ni eyes popped open at this and smiled happily. "You did?"

"Mm-hmm." Seung Jo chuckled. "So why don't you climb down now."

"Okay." She pushed off the wall and let out a loud groan as her legs got some much needed blood. "Ow. Ow. Ow,"

"Told you." He grabbed her leg as she flopped to the ground and winced as he began to massage her calf which was as tight as a rock under his fingers.

"Next time you want to meditate," Seung Jo chuckled quietly. "Maybe try it in a way that won't risk amputation."

"Good idea." Ha Ni cringed as feeling rushed back into her legs and she wondered if her feet were supposed to feel like someone was stabbing them with tiny swords. "Not my best plan."

Seung Jo shook his head with a snort and moved up over her. His hands bracing on either side of her head as he stared down at her. His voice lowering in understanding. "Send me Kim Song Mi's chart tomorrow. I will look at it."

Her shoulders sank in relief. The tension she had been carrying all afternoon lessening by idea of him just offering to look at the case. "

Thank you. I've asked Doctor Wong but he doesn't think there is anything to worry about. He thinks we just need to get her insulin adjusted but something is not sitting right with me."

Seung Jo nodded and brushed back her hair. "Okay."

Ha Ni felt her worry leave at her husband's acceptance of her instincts. He wasn't scolding her for being silly about a weird tingle or how Doctor Wong was an experienced pediatric specialist so if he didn't find anything alarming about Kim Song Mi then why should she? But instead by offering to help meant he trusted her as a nurse."

Feeling better than she had all day, she reached up and lightly kissed him. "Thank you."

"You're welcome."

"Ice-cream?"

Seung Jo laughed at her whiny plea and extended his hand. "You should probably get off the floor first."

"Oh yeah." Ha Ni took his hand and let him pull her gently upright. He steadied her as she wobbled and she caught the flash of amusement on him. "Are you all-right?"

"Mm-hmm."

He slowly let go but as she tried to take a step, his eyes widened as she immediately fell forward. He dove for her and only barely managed to cover her head before they both went crashing to the floor.

They lay stunned for a minute before Ha Ni whispered thoughtfully, "I think I meditated too long."

Seung Jo turned his head to glare at her and she smiled playfully. "Sorry. I am usually more limber… But don't worry. The next time I decide to—"

She broke off in laughter as he simply rolled over on her. His low growl about what she could with her flexibility causing her to flush. And decided that having her gruff, sexy husband hovering over her and slowly undressing her as he whispered certain somethings in her ear was far better than any plate of sugar anyway.

Suddenly hearing Eun Jo impatiently yelling at her that he was going to be late for practice, Ha Ni quickly forced herself out of the warm memory and grabbed a towel with a tired groan.

"Sorry, Eun Jo. I will be right down."

As she dried off and got dressed into some loose clothing, Ha Ni was depressed to find her skin had simply turned from the freakish blue to dark gray.

"I look like a rain cloud." She grumbled darkly to him as she pulled her wet hair into a bun. "A sad little rain cloud."

Eun Jo nodded in agreement. "But at least you're not blue anymore."

She glared at him and he smothered his grin but she could see the twinkling in his eyes. "I will do the dishes for you this week."

"Thank you," Ha Ni sighed and looked down at herself. She did look ridiculous and since there was nothing she could about it right now, she might as well try to find some of the humor. Letting out a small snort, she shook her head.

"I'm going to scare the kids in the ward tomorrow. They are all going to think I am some sad monster."

Eun Jo laughed and whipped out his phone. "I can't do it. I have to show Hyung."

"No, Eun Jo, don't you dare!" Ha Ni shrieked and lunged for him but the rising soccer star was too quick for her and simply leaped out of range. "I have too! Your lips are just—"

"Baek Eun Jo!"

Ha Ni darted around the table as her brother-in-law only roared with laughter, his phone clicking madly with picture after picture.

"Wait until Mom sees these… They will be on the blog by midnight!"

"Eun Jo, I am warning you! I am going to find your baby pictures and pass them out to all your teammates if you don't give the phone!"

Seung Jo walked into his hotel room with a grateful sigh. "Quiet."

He flopped on the bed and simply breathed for a few minutes. The conference had been lectures after lectures this past week. Doctors from around the globe attended this conference. Most of them the leading experts in their fields so the information they were passing on to Baek Seung Jo was incredible and he was grateful for it but even his brain was beginning to feel overloaded.

"Food." Seung Jo moaned and rolled slowly upright. "I am so hungry that I would even take Ha Ni's cooking right now."

And the reminder of his wife charred version of chicken, he smiled which quickly faded. He glanced at the left side of the bed where his wife should be occupying and let out a confused grunt. He had been gone almost two weeks at this point and every day that passed where he didn't discover her hiding behind some fern slowly convinced him that she was honestly not planning on showing up after him.

At first, he had been grateful since it meant he could just focus on his work and not have to entertain her well-meaning but distracting presence. Nor did he have to worry about what kind of trouble she might accidentally cause at the conference. However, he was not prepared on the absolutely no contact from her.

Taking out his phone and seeing the same screen of no messages or missed calls, he frowned in frustration. "She could at least check in…"

With anyone else he might be suspicious that she was angry or hurt by his decision to leave for six weeks but he knew that was just not her nature. She wasn't capable of being deceitful or hiding what she was feeling. Despite their odd years of courtship, he always known where Oh Ha Ni stood.

Which is why he had panicked when she had begun to seriously consider Bong Jun Goon's proposal. Because he knew she was truly planning on letting him go. Something he could never actually let happen. No matter how much he hemmed and hawed over his feelings regarding Oh Ha Ni, he knew deep down how much he loved her and would never allow himself to actually lose her.

With that reminder, he picked up his phone. Fine. He would call her then. Just to make sure she was all right. And once he heard her voice, then he could get back to focusing on his trip.

Except as the phone simply went to voicemail, he frowned. Where was she? The only time Ha Ni didn't answer her phone if she wa at the hospital. He tried once more and was beginning to grow worried as it only kept ringing multiple times.

"Hyung?"

"Eun Jo?" Seung Jo frowned in confusion. "Why are you answering Ha Ni's phone?"

"She left it on the kitchen table." Eun Jo explained, his voice muffled from a large amount of food he was currently stuffing down his throat. "She is working at the noodle shop and must have forgotten it."

"Oh." Seung Jo shoulders sank in slight disappointment. While he normally enjoyed talking to his brother, he couldn't help but feel let down over not being able to catch up with Ha Ni.

"Wait…" Seung Jo looked at the clock with new confusion. "Why is she at the noodle shop? It's almost ten."

"She has been worried by Oh Ki Dong. She doesn't want him getting too tired or sick from having to run the shop by himself since Bong Joon Gu decided to return home."

Seung Jo nodded slowly. He knew his father-in-law had been working a lot and that Ha Ni worried about his health. She was extremely protective over the one parent she had left and didn't want him to become ill from the stress over keeping the noodle shop running.

Pushing aside his disappointment, Seung Jo focused on catching up with Eun Jo who kept hinting that Ha Ni was currently sporting a new look but he had been sworn by the pain of death not to divulge. Which made him instantly suspicious but no amount of coercing or bribing made Eun Jo crack. Saying that Noona had threatened him so creatively that he would forever be scarred.

"All right," Seung Jo laughed quietly. "I will find out when I get back next month."

"She will be fixed by then."

He shook his head at his brother's gleeful tone and after passing along his message for Ha Ni to call him when she returned home, he hung up feeling oddly dejected. While normally he found his family's antics slightly annoying, he couldn't help but wish he was there to witness whatever kind of trouble they were currently sporting.

"You're being ridiculous." Seung Jo ruffled his head in frustration. "You're tired and getting all fanciful." He grabbed his jacket and decided he needed food more than he thought if he was actually missing the chaos of his family.

Ha Ni looked at her watch worriedly. Eun Jo had mentioned that Seung Jo had tried to reach her and wanted her to call him back but it almost midnight at this point. She didn't want to wake him up or disturb him when his days were already so full at the conference. Deciding to just text him instead, Ha Ni messaged him that she was home safe and hoped he was doing all right.

The message had barely left her hand when her phone rang and Ha Ni blinked in surprise at seeing his name on her screen.

"Hello?"

"I said call me, Ha Ni." Seung Jo said dryly. "Not text me."

"It's late." She whispered apologetically. "I didn't want to wake you."

"I wasn't asleep." She heard the distant sound of papers rustling in the background. "I was going over some of my notes from today." He sighed tiredly before settling back into the bed. "Distract me. Please."

"What?" Ha Ni laughed softly. "Normally, you can't stand for people talking at you while you work."

"I know." Seung Jo groaned as he rubbed his eyes. "But my brain is fried and I need to take a break anyway."

"Maybe you should get some sleep." Ha Ni said worriedly. Knowing he must be exhausted to have gotten to the point where he was actually admitting that his brain was no longer functioning. "I will get off and—"

"No."

She stopped at the sharp snap. "I am too wound up to sleep anyway." Seung Jo grumbled. "So you might as well talk to me."

She rolled her eyes but couldn't help but smiling at being able to really talk to him for a while. "Nurse Do quit yesterday."

"She did?" Seung Jo blinked in surprise. "Why did she quit?"

"I don't know. But we were already short-handed and now we are even more so."

"How's the new head of the department?"

Ha Ni hesitated slightly before answering with a casual shrug. "Fine, I think. I've haven't spent much time with him yet."

Which was the problem. They were already being worked thin due to a lack of staff and while Doctor Wong was doing all he could to help, Parang had promoted a new head in Doctor Cheon who rarely spent any actual time in pediatrics. He would pop some in the morning and then simply disappear. She briefly thought about talking to Seung Jo about it but ultimately decided against it.

She didn't want to use Baek Seung Jo's power at Parang to help her. It would only create more gossip and her attempts to hide under the radar as his wife would no longer be possible. Especially after hearing the doctors from the other day in the cafeteria discussing how to cause problems for Seung Jo. She didn't want to help them create an opening by whining a little to her husband about her job.

"Ha Ni," Seung Jo said in concern. "Are you all right?"

"What?"

Realizing she had spaced out and not said anything for almost a minute, Ha Ni shook herself. "I'm fine. I'm just tired."

"I should let you go to bed."

Ha Ni nodded with a deep yawn not catching the slight disappointment in his voice. "You should get some sleep too."

"I will." Seung Jo paused for a minute before adding softly. "I love you."

Ha Ni stopped at the quiet declaration. Although Baek Seung Jo told her he loved her often, it wasn't like him to just blurt it out on a simple phone call. "I love you too."

Seung Jo nodded and played with the edge of his blanket. "I know."

Ha Ni smiled and shook her head. Some things never changed and Seung Jo cockiness was one of them. It might drive her crazy sometimes but it was also assuring. To know the man she fell in love with so many years ago still existed. "I will see you in a month?"

"Mm-hmm."

As they hung up, he fought with frustration. He admitted that when he first left for China he was expecting Ha Ni to be semi-lost without him. The memories of her chasing him around the school and tennis practice. And while they had both matured in the past few years that came with age and marriage, he had assumed she would resort to old tactics at him leaving for weeks and being around a plethora of new faces. Including many female doctors who were more than happy to meet the rising star of Parang who had been personally invited by Doctor Chan.

Not that Seung Jo cared or paid attention to their advances. He was well aware when a woman was flirting with him or attempting to invite herself to his room. Which was highly annoying since he wore a wedding band. He had never understood why someone would attempt to entice a person who was obviously already involved. If he was looking for an affair, he would remove the ring. So by keeping it on it meant he was not interested in any woman other than the one who already claimed the spot in his bed.

So while Ha Ni had nothing to worry about, he knew in the beginning of their relationship his wife was alarmed by the attention being thrown at him. Especially after the events of their honeymoon where the woman didn't even care that Ha Ni was literally standing next to him when she tried to crawl in next to him.

However, it seemed time and the way Seung Jo openly ignoring their advances had finally assured his wife that he had no interest in any other woman besides her and she never needed to worry about someone turning his head.

Feeling strangely lonely at the idea of crawling into bed again without her though, he glanced over to the empty spot next to him with a sigh. The weeks of having nothing but quiet for company at night had quickly proven there were many things about his marriage he had not fully appreciated before this.

One of them was how often Ha Ni and he talked at night together. Working in separate buildings and living in a house with four other people made it difficult for them to have much alone time together. So, it was usually late at night when the lights were out and they were in bed they actually caught up on their day or week.

Ha Ni would pass along messages about his family that she thought he should know. Like when Eun Jo had his first soccer game of the season, or if his father had a checkup on his heart. Which he was grateful for because despite his distance at times, he really did love his family and had grown to deeply appreciate the bridge Ha Ni provided in his relationship with them.

Seung Jo usually reminded her to update her patient's files or what bills they needed to pay this month. Ordinary conversations that don't matter much at the moment but ones he was currently and oddly missing right now.

"Seung Jo?"

"Hmm," Seung Jo muttered sleepily, his hand stroking over her arm as he fought to stay awake.

"I forgot to ask you about something earlier." Ha Ni mumbled as she shifted further into him. "Bong Joon Gu is returning home next month. His parents are getting older and he wants to spend some more time with them."

Seung Jo merely grunted in response since he was not sure what this had to do with anything except that her father would need to hire a replacement at the noodle shop. "So?"

"He wants to open the lunch boxes in his neighborhood." Ha Ni explained with a shrug. "He wanted to know if I could join him and Chris for a week or so to help him get it ready."

His eyes opened at this and he quickly lifted his head to stare down at her incredulously. "Bong Joon Gu wants you to go home with him?"

Ha Ni frowned at the tone in his voice and turned slightly to meet his gaze. "It's not like that, Seung Jo. He just needs another pair of hands—"

"So he can gushingly parade you around in front of his parents." Seung Jo growled in annoyance. "Conveniently forgetting that you're already married."

"It wouldn't be like that Seung Jo," Ha Ni chuckled slightly which didn't lessen his annoyance. "For one thing Chris will be there and they are practically engaged."

"That's not the point, Ha Ni," he snapped harshly. "The point is Bong Joon Gu apparently doesn't respect that you are already married to me. Otherwise, he wouldn't ask you to go away with him for a week. To visit his parents and make it appear as though you're the woman by his side."

Ha Ni had to admit he had a point. Helping Bong Joon Gu set up his lunch boxes and meeting his family did provide an image of intimacy. Something which was probably not healthy for Joon Gu who sometimes still struggled to fully release his previous love for her. And while Ha Ni completely belonged to Baek Seung Jo, she didn't want to cause speculation by going away with Joon Gu. Especially when his family might have a hard time accepting Chris who was English and would probably prefer someone more familiar to them like Oh Ha Ni.

"You're right." Ha Ni agreed quietly. "It's not appropriate."

Seung Jo relaxed and snuggled back down next to her. "Good." He went back to stroking her arm with a low growl. "And the next time Bong Joon Gu wants to ask you to go away with him, tell him to come ask me instead."

His wife snorted and he grinned at the sound, tucking his nose into her neck. "What? I would be nice."

"You're never nice when it comes to Bong Joon Gu," Ha Ni pointed out dryly which made him shrug. "I haven't killed him yet."

"Seung Jo…"

He smirked at the warning in her voice but he knew she wasn't really upset. "Other than Bong Joon Gu harassing you, how was your day?"

Ha Ni rolled her eyes but smiled at him. "Fine. I even managed to—"

At the reminder of his own struggle with the young chef, Seung Jo sighed in defeat. "All right, so maybe Oh Ha Ni isn't the only one who struggles occasionally with jealousy..."

Which annoyed him since he liked to believe he was smarter than to give into something as ridiculous about jealousy. And while he didn't tend to worry about random men who might flirt with her or stare at her a little too long at hospital fundraisers since all it took was one cold stare from him to move them along, he had never really trusted Bong Joon Gu.

"You're being pathetic," Seung Jo loudly scolded himself. "You are sitting here all mad because Ha Ni is not rolling around lost at home." He shifted uncomfortably. "Or even seeming to find it all that hard that you are gone." He shook his head and roughly snatched up his agenda for tomorrow.

"The fact she is not in the bushes spying is a good thing and I am glad for it. I'm happy she's matured." He grumbled darkly as he highlighted a section a little more vigorously than was probably needed. "Happy. Happy. Happy."
