ONE. QUICK (flashback)
AN: Please review after reading. I'm hoping to have chapter two out tomorrow.
The hustle and bustle of King Cross Station have picked again, the start of term for students at Hogwarts to return from their summer holidays. It was fun seeing the first years struggle with their trolleys, the parents all stressed out that they may have forgotten something at home. The first of September was a weird time for the train station, muggles trying to figure out where those kids were going with owls and strange pets.
For the Potter and Weasley family, The transition from Summer to Fall term has become smooth as the years' have passed.
The oldest Potter child, James Sirius Potter walked ahead of his family trying to maintain his reputation. He was beginning to set into his looks, short Ebony hair with curly bangs. Many say he was the spitting image of his late grandfather, James Potter I. Leaning against the walls of platforms seven and eight, flicking a little bit of ash from the end of blowing out a puff a smoke, his chestnut brown eyes bounced around the platform watching muggles pass by. He smirked as a couple of beautiful ladies passed him on by. He gave a light wave putting the cigarette against his lips giving the bud a soft drag before exhaling again.
Hearing the sound of his mother, Ginny's voice draw nearer, he threw quickly dropped the bud onto the platform and dug his feet against it to put it out. He knew his mother would blow a gasket if she found out about his smoking, luckily he had gotten sharper about hiding his usage of cigarettes. Swiftly he threw a piece of gum and splash a little cologne on to cover the smell catching up with his family again with his trolley or belongings.
'Ah, there you are Jamie!' Ginny spoke grinning. James quietly groaned at the use of his nickname. He only let certain people get away with using it. His close friends and very little family have a small pass to call him Jamie once in a while. The adults were more excited than the kids go figure to see each other. They have seen each other so much it's starting to become a task to be excited to actually see each other. The only person they don't see very very much is Bill and Fleur's daughter Victoire and Nyphodora and Remus' son Teddy who always had been an official part of the family since the day he was born.
'Right you guys better get going too before you miss the train!' Hermione spoke looking at her wristwatch, placing her hand on her own children's shoulders. One time they took turns walking through the brick wall coming out to another platform where a large red engine sat on the tracks.
'Alright kids, remember to be on your best behavior,' Hermione said, giving the gang her utmost serious look. Before she could speak up to anything else, Ron interrupted. 'Jamie try not to get into too much trouble this year. Give Mcgongal a break.' While everyone's back was turned, Ron gave him a sack of things from his shop Weasley Wizard Wheezes to try out.
Ginny's eyes bounced around giving her soon a look over before pulling him to a tight tug. " Have a good year. Please look after your brother okay?' she teared up, putting his face into her hand. Like every teenager, he rolled his eyes at his mother's actions and nodded his head. He moved along to get some quick advice from his father.
'Tell me how you like them.' Ron tapped his shoulder lightly.
Aboard the train with all the other students, he made sure his brother and cousins were settled in before moving along to the front of the train with all the other prefects. On the way, he ran across his quidditch mates and long time crush. A girl with dirty blonde hair in the same year as James named Alice Longbottom. He tried to act look cool, suave while leaning against the railing as he approached her.
'Hey. Did you get my letters?" He quirked his brow lightly.
'Yeah, I got them.' She shrugged her shoulders, nonchalantly.
'Oh, well. I was wondering once we get settled we could go on a date in Hogsmeade." James rubbed the back of his head nervously.
"Mmmm, I'll have to think about it. Alice poked his nose playfully, dismissing herself from the conversation walking in an opposite direction. He sighed softly feeling slightly defeated. This isn't the first time she's dismissed him or rejected his offer to hang out. Feeling a bit defeated he declined the initial offer to hang out with the upcoming fellow prefects and went back to sit along with his brother and cousins playing games and talking about predictions for the new term. He didn't engage much, just stared out the window.
At exactly 11o clock, The train horn's echoed the station as it began to pull off from the platform. The former students and now parents to this new generation of kids waved watching the train slowly creep off up London's mountainside as new adventures await.
