Disclaimer- I do not own the smurfs; they belong to Peyo ( Aria smurf is my OC; she belongs to me ). I also do not own the song and lyrics I use today.
Dinner for Aria was a bit hectic, but then again, she was new to the village, so this was something she would have to get used to with time. She sat next to Smurfette and Hefty as they ate what Greedy had cooked that evening: smurfberry soup. While they chatted mid-bite, Aria ended up face to face with one of the other Smurfs in the village, Brainy, who was giving her a suspicious, weird, look. She grew nervous as she asked, "Is there something I can help you with"? Brainy stepped back a little as he said, "Oh, I am just smurfy. I just wanted to make sure that you weren't up to anything bad is all." Hearing this confused her, but before she could ask, Hefty got up from his seat, shouting, "Brainy! Smurf up some manners! Aria is different this time; she isn't like the others, no offense Smurfette." Brainy held his ground, saying, "You never know Hefty. She could be using a fake persona to hide her unsmurfy truth as a creation of Gargamel, and as Papa Smurf always says," but before he could continue, Hefty kicked him out towards the far edge of the village.
Hefty apologized for Brainy's actions as Aria smiled, saying, "No sweat, Hefty. I am new around here, so it might take a while for him to get used to me, but if I may ask, why are you guys saying "creation" and motioning it towards Smurfette a lot? Also, who the smurf is Gargamel"? That question was enough to silence everyone as Papa Smurf came up to her, saying, "Gargamel is an evil, powerful wizard who keeps trying to find our village and kidnap us." Aria gasped in shock as she says, "That's awful! Why would he want to capture us? Did we do something to him"? Papa shrugged, saying, "We don't know much about his motives towards capturing us, but I believe it may have to do with wanting to be respected or feared by others who may be more powerful than him." Aria seemed to understand as Papa continued with, "As for your other question, you see...how should I smurf this...Smurfette and Sassette were not born like the rest of us were." Aria looked at Smurfette, who nodded, saying, "I was created by Gargamel to trap the smurfs for Gargamel originally. Sassette was created too for the same purpose, but Papa saved us. He used a special magic formula that helped to turn us into true, blue smurfs."
Aria smiled, impressed while saying, "I understand now, and I am happy for you. Creation or not, I still think you're a great friend Smurfette." Smurfette had a massive smile on her face as Papa says, "That was a very nice thing to say, Aria, and do not worry. We will all help you with trying to figure out your past the best we can." Hefty added, "If there;'s anything dangerous we need to face, I'll be there to smurf 'em in their place." Clumsy came over while tripping, saying, "Gosh, I wanna help too! Count me in." Every other smurf piled in their compliments and sayings too. Even the smurflings came rushing in, carrying what looked like instruments with them, wanting to be a part of the gathering also. Sassette said, "Leaping lizards! We want to help too! Anything you need, we can smurf it"! The other smurflings agreed before setting their instruments up as Aria asked, "What's going on"? Snappy, on the drums, said, "We worked together to make a song that we are going to perform just for you. Aria, welcome to the village! Hit it," as the smurflings began to play their instruments.
The song they performed was beautiful as every smurf applauded them, with Aria being the loudest with her clapping. Later on, as night began to overcome the sky, most of the smurfs were starting to turn in for the night. At Smurfette's mushroom, both females were putting on their pajamas. Since Aria didn't have any other clothes, other than the ones she was wearing before, Smurfette lent her one of her nightgowns. Once they got dressed, Smurfette was ready to turn in for the night when Aria picked up something that was on her vanity and showed it to her, asking what it was. Smurfette did her best to hold her laughter back as she responded with, "That's my hairbrush. I use it to make sure my hair isn't full of knots. Haven't you ever used one before"? Aria shook her head no, saying, "Not really. I usually use my hands to deknot my hair. Struggling to keep it looking presentable is one of the reasons why I keep it up in a ponytail like this," as she brushed her bangs away from her eyes.
Smurfette couldn't help but feel bad for Aria, but then again, Aria lived in the forest most of her life, so there were many things she either didn't know about or had to learn. Getting an idea in her head, she had Aria sit down near the mirror, undoing her new friend's ponytail. Aria gave Smurfette her brush back as she began to use it, gliding it across Aria's brown hair. Aria was stunned by the surreal feeling the brush gave, and to be honest, she loved it. Aria allowed herself to relax, letting her head back, giving Smurfette more access to her hair. Believe it or not, Smurfette was enjoying this moment just as much as Aria was. After a couple of minutes, Smurfette placed Aria's hair back up in its signature ponytail as Aria looked up at Smurfette, thanking her. Smurfette nodded, saying, "You're welcome." With that, both females turned in for the night, falling asleep under the moonlit sky.
The next morning, Aria was the first to wake up as she slipped out of her sleeping bag, stretching to rid her body from any residing exhaustion. She picked her guitar up, wanting to play something before realizing that Smurfette was asleep. She quietly and quickly got changed and snuck out of the mushroom. She found a rock near the center of the village and began strumming her guitar. The melody she produced was enough to make her smile and begin to sing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Dear No One by Tori Kelly~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aria: I like being independent, not so much of an investment, no one to tell me what to do. I like being by myself, don't gotta entertain anybody else, no one to answer to. But sometimes, I just want some smurf to hold, some smurf to give me their jacket when it's cold. Got that young love even when we're old. Yeah, sometimes, I want some smurf to grab my hand, pick me up, hold me close, be my smurf. I will love you till the end.
So if you're out there, I swear to be good to you, but I'm done smurfing for my future some smurf. 'Cause when the time is right, you'll be here, but for now, dear no one, this is your love song ( oo-oh, oh ).
I don't really like big crowds, I tend to shut some smurfs out, I like my space ( yea-yeah ). But I'd love to have a smurfmate, and I will soon meet him someday, and I know it'll be worth the wait.
So if you're out there, I swear to be good to you, but I'm done smurfing ( But I'm done smurfing ) for my future some smurf ( Oo-oh, oh ). 'Cause when the time is right, you'll be here, but for now, dear no one ( Dear nobody ), this is your love song ( Ooo-Oooh ).
But sometimes, I just want some smurf to hold, some smurf to give me their jacket when it's cold. Got that young love even when we're old. Yeah, sometimes, I want some smurf to grab my hand, pick me up, hold me close, be my smurf. I will love you till the end.
So if you're out there, I swear to be good to you, but I'm done smurfing ( I'm done smurfing ) for my future some smurf ( Ooo-Yeah ). 'Cause when the time is right, you'll be here, but for now, dear no one ( Dear nobody ), this is your love song ( this is your love song ).
Dear no one, no need to be smurfing, no. Dear no one ( oh ). Dear no one ( whoa-oh ). Dear no one, this is your love song.
Just as she finished singing, all the smurfs started to wake up and get ready for their day. Tracker was the first one out of his mushroom, saying, "What a beautiful way to start the day," and Hefty added, "Thanks for the peaceful wake-up call, Aria. Sure beats Harmony's trumpet blasting us all awake." Even Papa Smurf couldn't help but comment, "Indeed, your voice is as beautiful as the birds chirping." Smurfette joined up with her, saying, "Oh, Aria, your voice is smurfy. What a perfect way to start such a smurfy morning." Aria smiled as she swung her guitar onto her back, saying, "Well, you know what they say: Music, once admitted to the soul, becomes a sort of spirit, and never dies. Edward Letton." Smurfette had a confused look on her face as she says, "Who's Edward Letton," as Aria laughed, saying, "A poet I read about." Before she could ask something else, Handy came by, saying, "Morning Aria. I finished up your mushroom last night. Ready to come and see"? Aria nodded excitedly as Handy led her to her new mushroom, which was right next to Hefty's. It was red with pink dots and looked marvelous. when Handy opened the door, Aria was surprised by how the inside looked. The side had two main rooms: the living room, which had a red chair that was handmade by Tailor, a bookshelf full of books which were donated by Brainy, and a painting of a red music note hung up, courtesy of Painter.
The other room was her bedroom, which had a nice big bed with navy blue covers. There was also a window near her nightstand, which had a candle on it, not lit of course, and a vanity, courtesy of Smurfette. There was even a small, wooden hairbrush already next to the mirror, just like hers. Above her bed was a picture of the entire village hanging perfectly as Aria smiled, saying, "It's absolutely perfect. Thank you Handy." He smiled with a blush, saying, "No problem, but I couldn't have done it without the help of a couple of smurfs who donated some things to help your mushroom feel like home." Snappy came inside, saying, "Wait! It's missing something," as Handy asked him, "What could the house be missing"? Snappy gave a shrill whistle as Sassette came in, holding in her hands a hand-sewn plush bird. It looked like a chickadee, which surprisingly, was Aria's favorite kind of bird, as Aria smiled, saying, "It's beautiful, thank you smurflings." She placed it on the bed, right on top of the pillow, as Sassette said, "Now, it's perfect." Aria couldn't help but feel a sense of happiness as she says, You know? I think I'm going to like it here," as Smurfette said, "Like it? you'll love it here," as Aria beamed brightly, ready to start a new life with her new friends.
