Planet's Mad Fanfic

The year is 2020 and I thought things couldn't get weirder than they already were, what with the Covid-19 pandemic, quitting my job, the protests and riots, and the murder hornets, yet somehow I knew that was only the tip of the iceberg. The US government had also admitted to UFOs being spotted and covered up for years so I had a feeling something BIG would happen from that news. It was only a matter of time at this point.
The night was like any other for me, I was watching Baauer on twitch (twitch dot tv /baauer) that afternoon, bopping along with the chat and when he ended his stream I decided to read and bop to some good music before making dinner. I was mid chapter when it happened. My phone went off with an emergency alert from the government that we should not panic but something was happening. I immediately hopped onto the internet to google what that was about and was interrupted mid query by my phone ringing. To answer or not to answer was the dilemma of the moment before I hit the ignore button. "Gods, I hate how calls take over the whole screen" I exclaimed out loud to my cat in annoyance before it started ringing again.
"WHAT?" I said with an annoyed tone when I finally answered the call.
"Have you looked outside yet, there's a WHOLE PLANET outside just hovering next to earth, and it's got some weird stuff coming from it! Some kid got sucked up into the sky!" Is what I heard from the speaker on my phone.
"Wait... what?! Are you serious? What should we do then? Do we grab the go bags and bounce, or wha..." I was cut off mid word by the TV turning on by itself and a guy's face coming on the screen, "um, the tv turned on by itself, what the f dude!"
Suddenly I heard the tv guy start talking. "Ehhhhhoooo! Woooo! Hi and welcome to the future. I'm doctor Rammmm. My first name's Rim. Hi. I'm Dr. Rim Ram. Shhhhhhhhh. I have a secret for you. Come, come here. Something magical is happening. Oh here she comes something! Ahhhhhhhoooooo! Something interesting is happening. Something. Oh! Now I can see. And it's top secret. Shhhhh... We've got company. Wahhhoooaah! A brand new planet has entered our atmosphere. Ah, it's a mad planet and it's time to rejoice. Baaabooooooo! BBAAAAAAhhhhh! Have you seen the new planet?! We have new neighbors. And I looked up and I gave them the international signal for hello, which is five kisses, two waves, and a soul moan. Heeyyyooooooooaaahhh. This is a marvelous experience for all of us and a lot of you are scared. Oh no! Who's up there? Oh NoO! We're going to be taken over by an alien race! But Dr. Ram is here to tell you. Cha! Shush, shut up. Shush up! Let's shed the fear as this take-over grows and let's show our friends who we really are. BAAUER! BaaaoooooooOOOOooo! Wooaahhoooo! I look up to the aliens and yell at them: Baaaaooooooaaaa. Baaaaaauuuuuuu. It's a maaadd plaaaaneeettt."
Dr. Rim Ram looked somewhat crazy but he did have a point about not fearing something we knew nothing about. My friend had heard everything both from my tv and his own. "Bro, have you gone outside to look at the new planet? It looks trippy but neat! And there's dancing on the streets here in NY!"
I stopped and looked down at my phone. Did he just say there was dancing here in our city, in the streets?! What was going on here on this crazy, mad planet? "Did you say DANCING, in the STREETS? What are we going to do bro? ... Bro?" I had no reply from my friend and seconds later the call was disconnected. So I did what any normal lady would do and double checked all my doors were locked to my apartment before looking out the window to see what he was talking about. "HOLY SHIT, he was right!" I yelled out in shock to my cat. Absolutely everyone outside right now was dancing, and they were dancing all over the place, both on the sidewalks but also on the streets. I hesitated a brief moment before opening my window to see if I could get a better look by sticking my head outside. When I managed to get it open I was amazed to be able to hear music; it sounded like it was just coming from nowhere and everywhere at the same time and I was fighting to keep from dancing myself. I quickly pulled my head back inside and slammed the window shut as quickly as I could manage. I had no desire to go outside and join them even though my toes kept tapping to what I imagined the beat was
"What is going on?" I asked my cat, Burke, nearly in tears from frustration and fear. I know I had thought previously that Dr. Rim Ram was right about not being afraid of the new neighbors, however this was something entirely new and out of my realm of comfort and I had no idea how to cope with it. What is going on indeed. I had to assume my friend was lost now to the dancing, that or there was something happening with the phone lines. I didn't want to deal with the flashbacks that came from thinking that it could be busy phone lines because the last time the phones had this much trouble was back in 2001. That also was not a pleasant experience or time. So yes. He's lost to the dancing. I was thankful my apartment was soundproofed enough to keep Burke and myself safe from the dancing though I wasn't sure how long we'd be able to stay holed up in the apartment.
Then suddenly, I had a random thought. I remembered watching the LMFAO music video for Party Rock Anthem and went to grab my AirPods (thankfully in this case they were the pro version so I could use the noise cancellation feature!) and I went to put some music on. I HAD to leave the apartment today, after all, since we needed to get groceries. Payday had happened two days ago and it was past time to get some food for us because I was out of even cheap ramen. "What rotten timing," I exclaimed to the cat as I put in the headphones. What to listen to so I could stay safe though, now that was a good question. Hmmm. Baauer was always a great choice, I thought, and I was pretty sure he had just released some new music. "Planet's mad or boptape?" I asked no one out loud. Planet's mad was a fitting option with how crazy everything was going on this weird as heck day.
