Throwing out the annual disclaimer- I do not own The Smurfs or Smurfs: The Lost Village in any way or form. Aria Smurf is my O.C. She belongs to me, while SmurfAggie belongs to author I.M. Rally. I also do not own the song and the lyrics that I use today. Now, let's get this chapter underway.
In the morning, every smurf woke up early and got back out on the trail. The smurflings rode Puppy, Aria was riding on her new dragonfly Fireball, Aggie flew next to her, and the rest of the group kept up on foot. They went deeper into the forest until the group came across a rushing river that seemed to rise and descend at different paces. Plus, many other colored fishes lept from the water and swam so beautifully, it was almost breathtaking. Aria smiled, saying, "The Forbidden Forest has so many wonders to behold," as Hefty added, 'This is like a major workout for my eyeballs." The smurflings were in absolute awe as Nat said, "These animals are smurftastic! Unlike anything I've ever seen before," with the others nodding in agreement. Aggie then interrupted them by saying, "Ok, guys, I hate to interrupt, but we need to keep going. Smurfy Grove is just on the other side of this river." Snappy then asked, "But how are we going to get across"? Brainy smiled, saying, "Fear not smurfs, for I have calculated a brilliant plan to build a raft for us to sail across this voluminous river with ease."
Aria responded with, "We could do that, but I have another idea. Aggie, do you still have some of that magic floating dust with you"? Aggie nodded as Aria continued with, "With this, just a little sprinkle on us will enable us to float through the air, but we must be careful not to get wet, or else the dust will wash off and be useless." Aggie took out her pouch, but when she saw Puppy, she said, "There's only one problem. I'm afraid I only have enough pixie dust for us smurfs, but not enough for Puppy." Puppy, hearing this, whimpered in sadness as the others realized Aggie was right. Aria pondered this before looking at Fireball, saying, "Fireball, do you think you can stay with Puppy, just to keep him company"? Fireball nodded as it licked Aria before flying towards Puppy, which made him feel better. Snappy added, "And so Puppy isn't too lonely, we'll smurf behind with him," as Slouchy and Nat nodded in agreement. Sassette hopped down and went towards Smurfette, asking, "Can I still come with you guys? I want to see the grove too"! Aria and Smurfette chuckled as Smurfette said, "Of course, Sassette." With their plan set, Aggie sprinkled each smurf with a little bit of the pixie dust as they began to float in the air. While Aria and Sassette found it easy to move around, the others had a bit of difficulty in the beginning. Brainy and Hefty kept hitting each other, Smurfette found it hard to turn in mid-air, and Clumsy kept bumping tree branches and anything else that was in his way.
Aria and Aggie quickly showed them what to do as soon; they were all flying through the air with the greatest of ease. They waved goodbye to the small group of smurflings, Puppy and Fireball, as they began heading upward towards the river. Along the way, Smurfette asked Aggie, "So, what is Smurfy Grove like"? Aggie answered, "Well, it's a wonderful and peaceful place, where everyone works together and lives in harmony. Plus, everyone is nice, trust me, you, Sassette, and especially Aria will love them." Hearing this, Aria smiled as her determination and excitement grew even higher. As the girls chatted with one another, the boys were caught up in their conversation. Clumsy was the first to speak, asking, "So, what do you think the other smurfs will be like"? Brainy responded with, "Maybe they're not who they seem. Maybe they have giant claws and scaly skin, or maybe thick mustaches and giant goatees." Hefty interrupted him, saying, "Hold on Brain-man. From what Aria could remember, they are probably female smurfs like SmurfAggie, so let's not jump to any conclusion." Clumsy then asked in a sad voice, "Do you think once Aria reunites with her family, she'll stay with them and leave us"? That was enough to silence them and ponder that reality quietly.
Meanwhile, Aria was thinking about what the place would be like. Will everyone like her or even remember her? Will she get to see Smurfwillow? Smurfiliy and Smurfstorm? Will they remember her? She was so into her thoughts that she didn't notice that she was about to collide with a tree and ended up kissing bark and falling towards the ground. Everyone floated down to the ground and ran to her, hoping she was alright. Aria quickly stood up, saying, "I'm good. Takes more than a tree to knock me out cold," however, what the others saw made their jaws drop. Aria grew hesitant as she asked, 'I have a nasty bruise somewhere, don't I"? Smurfette was the first to recover by shaking her head and saying, "No, but you sure did get something." Aria walked towards the edge of the river and looked at the water before stumbling back in shock. In her brown hair was a prominent dark blue highlight that went from her bangs to the end of her hair, almost right down the middle. Aria shook her head in disbelief before asking, "How? When did this even show up"? Clumsy responded with, "It appeared after you got up from colliding with the tree," which earned an annoyed look from Aria.
Aggie spoke up, saying, "Maybe it has to do with your origins, Aria. Since from what you told us about your memories, you are most likely from Smurfy Grove, and everyone there, including me, has the same dark blue hair color." Brainy, listening to this, mentioned, "It does sound like a logical theory." Clumsy smiled, adding, "Plus, it suits you, Aria." Sassette even exclaimed, "The color looks nice on you, Aria"! Aria smiled before looking at the water again, saying, "I guess it does look pretty cool, but enough with the distractions, let's get back into the air." Everyone, with the help of Aggie's pixie dust, returned to their search for Smurfy Grove. However, while in the air, the wind picked up, and everyone struggled to remain together. Suddenly, one massive gust of wind sent Aria crashing into the river and separated her from the now divorced group. They landed on a sandy beach while Clumsy landed headfirst into the sand. Hefty helped him out as Smurfette made sure Sassette was ok. Suddenly, she noticed Aggie was looking around frantically as she asked, "What's wrong"? Aggie then said the two words Smurfette feared, "Aria's missing"!
Meanwhile, Aria was struggling to stay afloat as the crazy current dragged her around. Suddenly, she collided back-first with a rock, and not only did she get hurt, but her guitar also smashed into smithereens. However, she had no time to be upset because she was then dragged underwater, and her foot got caught on a vine. Aria struggled to free herself with the limited amount of oxygen she was able to get from a deep breath earlier, but her attempts seemed futile. She began to lose consciousness as Aria feared that she was going to smurf from drowning if nothing or no one came to save her in time. The last thing she remembered seeing was a blurred figure that dove into the water and came towards her before passing out and losing consciousness. A while later, Aria opened her eyes and coughed up a bit of water before attempting to sit up. She looked around before asking herself out loud, "Where am I"? She stood up and squeezed the water out of her hair and hat before getting a good look at her surroundings. She seemed to be in another part of the forest, but in the area she was in, there were more vibrant trees and bushes.
Suddenly, a rustle in the bushes got her attention as she quickly got out a bow and arrow and readied to shoot if necessary. Out of the bushes came a small figure that had leaf warrior clothing and a vast purple leaf mask. She also had a bow and arrow in her hands, but while the model seemed suspicious of her, it also had a concerned look for her as well. Aria slowly lowered her bow and arrow as she asked, "Who are you"? The figure came towards her, saying in a deep female voice, "Put the bow and arrow down. I'm friendly, though I'm a bit suspicious of you. So, I guess I should be asking who you are exactly." Aria placed the weapon down as she answered, "My name is Aria, Aria Smurf." The minute Aria said her name to the figure, the figure's eyes widened in shock, and she dropped her bow and arrow. Then, the mysterious figure did something that made Aria's jaw drop. She took off her leaf mask and revealed herself to her, and the minute she did, Aria knew instantly who the mysterious figure that saved her was. The green four-leaf clover in her hat said it all as Aria said in shock, "You're..you're Smurfstorm. I don't know if you may remember me, but...I'm your younger sister." Smurfstorm slowly came towards her as she asked, 'Ari...is it...really you"? Aria slowly nodded as Smurfstorm hugged her tightly while surprisingly, breaking down into a hard sob. As Smurfstorm sobbed into her younger sister's shoulder, Aria accepted the hug and returned it with a hug of her own as she closed her eyes and smiled.
After about a couple of minutes, Smurfstorm seemed to stop crying, but still had happy tears flowing from her eyes as she got a good look at Aria while saying, "I can't believe it's you, after all this time. I thought for sure you'd be smurfed or worse. I thought I'd never see you again." Aria smiled back as she too was beginning to emit happy tears while saying, "Well, it wasn't easy, but I made it through, and I can't believe I am finally reunited with you again. I feared I wouldn't get to see you or Smurflily or everyone else ever again." Smurfstorm swung her arm over Aria as she said, "You've grown up and changed so much since we last you. Your new outfit is pretty cool, and you finally got your first dark blue highlight. Wait..where's your guitar"? Aria then realized what happened as she said in a sad tone of voice, "When I was caught in the current, it must've broke! I can't believe it..it's gone. I've had that guitar since my smurfling years." Smurfstorm felt terrible for her but luckily knew what to do. She then began to hum a tune that was very familiar to Aria, which made Aria gasp in surprise. Smurfstorm stopped for a minute before saying, "I figured you'd remember it. It's our special sister song; it's been my favorite song since we were small, and even after you disappeared, Smurflily and I sang it to ourselves to help cope with our sadness." With that, both sisters held hands and began to sing together.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Count On Me by Bruno Mars~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Smurfstorm: If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea, I'll sail the world to find you.
Aria: If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see, I'll be the light to guide you.
Both: Find out what we're made of when we are called to help our friends in need. You can count on me like one, two, three, I'll be there. And I know when I need it, I can count on you like four, three, two, you'll be there. 'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah. Ooh, ooh, yeah, yeah.
Aria: If you're tossing and you're turning, and you just can't fall asleep, I'll sing a song beside you.
Smurfstorm: And if you ever forget how much you really mean to me, every day I will remind you, oh.
Both: Find out what we're made of when we are called to help our friends in need. You can count on me like one, two, three, I'll be there. And I know when I need it, I can count on you like four, three, two, you'll be there. 'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah. Ooh, ooh, yeah, yeah. You'll always have my shoulder when you cry. I'll never let go, never say goodbye, you know.
Smurfstorm: You can count on me like one, two, three, I'll be there.
Aria: And I know when I need it, I can count on you like four, three, two, you'll be there.
Both: 'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah. Ooh, ooh, you can count on me 'cause I can count on you.
Both sisters hugged one another again before a faint glow caught Smurfstorm's attention. Another dark blue highlight appeared in Aria's hair as Smurfstorm smiled in amazement. When Aria asked her what happened, Smurfstorm just shrugged, saying, "Another highlight appeared little kiddo." Before Aria could ask how this was possible, shouts from far away were heard as Aria said, "Sounds like something's going on." Smurfstorm faced Aria as she said, "Let's go check it out," as Aria replied, "I got your back big sister," as both smurfs started heading in the direction the loud noises were coming from.
Meanwhile, the rest of her friends were looking for Aria and having no luck whatsoever. Suddenly, a sharp pole came raining down on them, almost striking Clumsy. As more arrows and sticks rained down on them, They all did their best to take cover and hide. They went into a bush as Smurfette carefully peaked to see if the coast was clear. Suddenly, a leaf-based dragon roared at them as a set of poles came and caught them, with the rope being tied on top to close it tight. However, Aggie quickly pulled out her lightsaber and used it to cut the group free from the cage with ease. The dragon, to their shock, seemed surprised, as it separated, allowing mini-figures to surround them. Hefty grew defensive in case they attacked them as Sassette held Smurfette tight out of fear. However, seeing the figures move along, Aggie smiled as she told them, "Don't worry, guys, I got this." She flew towards them and was able to talk to them, which made them stop.
Aggie then faced the group, saying, "Guys, you don't have to worry about them. These are my friends from Smurfy Grove." One by one, each leaf warrior lifted their masks, revealing their faces to them. Smurfette and Sassette were stunned the most because each smurf was a real-life girl. One of them went up to the group as she introduced herself, saying, "Hi. I'm Smurflily." Everyone gasped in shock as Brainy said, "Then you must be Aria's little sister." The minute he said that, everyone gasped as Smurflily asked, "Wait..you know, Aria"? The group nodded as Smurfette said, "We found her living by herself in the forest where we're from, and she's been living with us for some time. We came out here because she's apparently from Smurfy Grove, which is here in the Forbidden Forest." That seemed to get everyone excited, especially Smurflily, as she jumped up and down while saying, "She's alive! She's alive! This is amazing! Where is she right now"?! Out of the blue, a voice called out, "Some smurf looking for me," as Aria and Smurfstorm joined up with the rest of the group. All the other females gasped in shock and amazement as Smurfette, Sassette, Clumsy, Hefty, Sassette, and Aggie were relieved that was Aria was ok, and even more surprised that Aria found her older sister.
Smurflily smiled brightly before running towards Aria and hugging her tightly while saying, "I can't believe you're alive and safe! I'm so happy you're ok,"! Aria struggled to breathe a bit but smiled while saying, "It's great to see you again, little sister. I'd hug you back, but I think you may have dislocated my shoulder." Smurflily loosened up a bit, which allowed Aria to hug her back while Smurfstorm watched in content. She then turned to face the group as she went up to Aggie, saying, "Aggie, who are they? They're not any form of a threat, are they"? Aggie eased her tensions by saying, "No, in fact, they are some new friends I made." Smurfette went up to her, saying, "Hi, I'm Smurfette. Those are my friends Hefty, Brainy, and Clumsy, and this little smurf is my sister Sassette. We've been taking care of Aria since we found her in the forest near our home. She's been a huge help around the village and is a really great friend." Sassette added, "Yeah! She tells the best stories and can do really amazing things"! Smurfstorm looked at Sassette, then at the boys behind her, then back at Smurfette before smiling and saying, "Thank you for taking care of Ari. Any friend of Aggie and any hero of our sister is a friend of mine."
Suddenly, another female smurf came running in and hugged Smurffete and Sassette while saying, "Oh my geez-to-petes! I'm Smurfblossom! Nice to meet you! We don't have a Smurfette or a Sassette, but we do have Smurfpetal, Smurfclover, Smurfmeadow, Smurfdaisy, Smurfholly, Smurfhazel.." as the smurfs she introduced smiled at Aria and waved while saying, "Hey," in unison. Smurfblossom continued with, "Oh everyone can just introduce themselves later. Look at you two! you're so different. i mean sorry, but it's true. do you know how to start a fire with just rope and a stick? "Cause I can! I can show you. actually, Smurfstorm can show you. she's the best at that kind of thing. right Stormy," as Smurfstorm just smiled and nodded in response. Smurfblossom continued with, "That means yes. Have you ever seen a rainbow? what about a double rainbow? what about an upside-down rainbow? Haha! So is your favorite song Hey hey hey! Hey hey hey hey hey hey hey! 'Cause mine is! Your outfits are so pretty"! Aria luckily was able to pull her away by saying, "Great to see you too Smurfblossom."
Smurfblossom then focused her attention on Aria, saying, "wow Ari! You're here and alive! We were all really upset when that tornado came and swept you away, but now that you're here, we're all happy once again! Your outfit is so cool! Where can I get a bandanna like that?! Your highlights are really cool as well! Looks like your natural hair color is finally coming in! You haven't changed a bit! Do you still love music? I bet you do! Especially singing and dancing! I do too"! Now Smurfstorm was the smurf who pulled her away, saying, "Ease up Smurfblossom. She's just returned to us, so give her some time and space to adjust to her new surroundings, especially to us since she hasn't seen us in many years." Smurflily added, "You guys must be exhausted after your long trip. We have to take you to Smurfy Grove."The sound of those words was enough to make Aria scream in excitement as says, 'Does this mean...I'm finally going to be home"? Everyone nodded as not only Aria's friends were excited, but Aria was really excited. Finally, after many years of exploring, traveling, and meeting many new friends, she was finally going to return...home.
