Matt (Guest): I just don't like it when you ask questions about upcoming stories. And like I said, everyone makes mistakes
Gamelover41592: Thanks
Okay, I love this series. I really do. But one thing I have had a constant problem with is Bolo's writing. He is either as dumb as a brick, or he is roughly as capable as everyone else, but is just a little slow. So I have a lot of rewriting to do. You may also have noticed that I ship him with Shantae. I will be saying nothing on that matter so you should just read for yourself.
"So, remind me why I couldn't just turn into a dragon and fly us to Water Town?" Jasmine asked as she and Shantae battled their way through a bunch of monsters.
"Because we need the practice if we are going to take Risky down!" Shantae replied as she hair whipped another monster into oblivion.
"Whatever you say," Jasmine said as she lobbed her boomerang at another set of monsters. It was quite a long journey to Water Town, with a forest and waterfall on the way. But it was nothing for the two sisters. Bolo was in his house, wailing away at a punching bag.
"Hi Bolo!" Shantae greeted. "We thought we'd find you here!" Bolo turned to face them, leaning on his bag.
"We've got an emergency back in Scuttle Town!" Jasmine said.
"What's up?" Bolo asked. "Does it have something to do with that pirate lady who was just here?"
"Risky was here already!?" Jasmine exclaimed.
"And she didn't attack?" Shantae asked, confused at why Risky didn't attack.
"Well...she kinda did. She beat me up when I wouldn't tell her where the Dribble Fountain was…" Bolo admitted as he rubbed the back of his neck. Shantae gasped at the sight of several bruises on Bolo's arms and legs.
"Oooooh, she is gonna get it!" Shantae vowed angrily.
"Did you tell her?" Jasmine asked.
"If I didn't, she said she would slit my throat and I don't know what that means!" Bolo answered.
"We need to get there first!" Jasmine said quickly. "Where is this place!?"
"You probably passed it on the way here," Bolo replied. "The aqueduct below it is locked up tight though. I could help you get it open!"
"Are you sure?" Shantae asked, concerned for her friend. "Risky beat you up pretty bad,"
"It wasn't that bad!" Bolo protested, even if his limp gave away that it was pretty bad. "I'll be fine,"
"If you say so. We'll meet you there," Jasmine said.
It didn't take the girls too long to arrive at the Dribble Fountain. How Bolo had beaten them there was beyond them.
"Alright, get this thing open," Jasmine said.
"Stand back!" Bolo said as he began spinning his mace. "A quick flick of the wrist and…" With that, he let go, causing the mace to bounce all over until he hit the eye on top of the fountain. The water level then lowered, letting the girls in. "That oughta do it!"
"Thanks, mate!" Jasmine said.
"I'll stay here. I don't think I'm up for any other more hero work," Bolo said.
"Rest up," Shantae assured him. "We can handle it," With that, the two girls headed inside. Risky was already inside.
"There you are!" Shantae exclaimed. "Hold it you rat!"
"Huh? It's you two again! Try if you like, but you'll never keep up with me!" Risky boasted with a laugh. "Ta-ta!" The girls moved to follow her, only for that path to seal up.
"Looks like we are taking the long way," Jasmine said as she destroyed a steel grate blocking another way in.
The Dribble Fountain lived up to its name, as the girls soon learned. Water was everywhere, as were monsters.
"I wonder if we could use the water to get around faster?" Jasmine mused.
"I can't hold my breath that long!" Shantae pointed out.
"Right, forgot about that," Jasmine said. Mimic said that Shantae would be able to transform into animals at some point, but never explained how. Either way, they pressed on, reaching a locked door.
"It's locked!" Shantae said. "Jas, do you think you could break the door open?"
"Don't think so. We're gonna have to go key hunting," Jasmine replied.
"Weird this place would have keys," Shantae noted. "Also, if Risky beat us, why is everything still locked?"
Jasmine offered a shrug. "Beats me,"
"I swear, some of those tunnels were really bad for me," Jasmine said. Shantae nodded. She knew about her sister's claustrophobia. If places got too small, she was a mess. Discovering that was not fun. Shantae swore that Jasmine had broken bones with the bone crushing panic hug she got.
"Hey, I think someone is trapped down there!" Shantae said with a point. Jasmine saw her as well and both jumped down. The genie was happy to see them.
"Thank you for freeing me!" She thanked them. "Once, I was the guardian of this labyrinth, but a terrible creature imprisoned me here,"
"What kinda creature?" Jasmine asked.
"One so evil, it took all the genies to seal him!" The genie replied. Jasmine and Shantae shared a nervous look. That did not sound good. "But for your kindness, I will teach the half-genie a magical dance you can use to stop evil! Watch closely!" After she learned, Shantae used the dance to turn into a monkey!
"This is so cool!" Shantae gushed as she looked over herself.
"Let's get pirate hunting!" Jasmine said. Using her new dance, Shantae climbed out of the room, with Jasmine following her as a lizard.
With Shantae now being able to climb, the duo were able explore far more of the Fountain then before. As such, it wasn't long before they were able to Risky looking over a strange stone.
"Whoa! What is that!?" Jasmine exclaimed a little too loud.
"Ho Ho Ho! This is the legendary Dribble Stone! Mine for the taking!" Risky explained. "Why pour water into that steam engine when this thing will power it forever!" Suddenly, the stone disappeared as the ground began to shake. "What!?" Something then blasted Risky away.
"Looks like this place as a big monster we gotta beat up!" Jasmine said as she got into a battle stance.
"Let's do it!" Shantae said as she copied her sister. A large jellyfish-like monster appeared. It didn't do much beyond spinning around, moving back and forth, rushing along the ground and making the water level rise. As such, the girls were quickly able to take it down.
"Hey look!" Jasmine said. The Dribble Stone had reappeared.
"We best take it. No telling what would happen if we let Risky get it," Shantae said.
"Agreed," Jasmine replied. With that, they grabbed it and raced out.
"Bolo! Are you okay?!" Shantae exclaimed. Bolo had taken yet another beating from Risky.
"Ugh...she jumped me! I shoulda known that wasn't you two!" Bolo groaned as he tried to get back to his feet.
"Do you know anything about this Dribble Stone?" Jasmine asked as Shantae helped Bolo to his feet.
"Hey cool! You found a legendary relic!" Bolo gushed. "I think there are four of them with each one being a different element...I think,"
"Do you know what the other kinds are?" Shantae asked.
"Uh...there is the unbreakable Golem Stone, the flaming Simmer Stone and the frozen Twinkle Stone," Bolo grunted. "Everything hurts,"
"We'll let you rest, but do you know where any of the other stones are?" Jasmine asked.
"Not really, but I think that the Golem Stone was lost in the desert," Bolo admitted.
"Oasis Town should have some info!" Jasmine realized.
"But first, we're getting you back. Try not to mess with Risky," Shantae said.
"Uh...yeah, sure," Bolo replied. With that, the three began to walk back to Water Town.
If you couldn't tell, I am going with Bolo's second characterization. Anyways, next time, it is off to Oasis Town. See ya then!
