Gamelover41592: I think they can both handle her.

Matt (Guest): Thanks.

Alright, time for our girls to have their first battle with Risky Boots. And things are going to get interesting.

After failing to find Risky on their own, the girls had made the choice to return to Scuttle Town, knowing that if anyone knew how to track her, it was Mimic.

"...And that's what happened," Jasmine finished the story. The older man stroked his beard in thought.

"And you say you two don' t know where she is?" Mimic asked.

"No, she got away while we were on the mountain," Shantae admitted.

"Then our chance now is to find her hideout and stop her before it is too late," Mimic said.

"And how do we find her?" Jasmine asked. Surely Mimic had an idea, right?

"If you two can fly to the highest point, you could get a better view of the land!" Mimic offered. "It's the only hope we have,"

"Highest point…." Jasmine wondered as they walked towards the town gates.

"There are so many highest points. Who would know where to look?" Shantae thought aloud. Both girls hit the same answer.

"SKY!"

"What brings you two back here?" Sky asked when she saw both girls rush in.

"Sky, where is the highest point on the island?" Shantae said as she struggled to catch her breath.

"Well...there is this pyramid out in the desert sky with an all seeing Spy Scope," Sky explained.

"That's perfect!" Jasmine exclaimed.

"Why do you need it anyways?" Sky asked. "I thought you had everything under control,"

"As it turns out, we didn't," Shantae admitted. "Risky blindsided us when we got the last stone and stole them all. We are trying to stop her,"

"Then like I said, find the pyramid. You can find anything with that thing," Sky repeated. She knew that if anyone could stop Risky, it was Jasmine and Shantae.

"Why is the pyramid in the sky?" Shantae asked no one in particular as she landed on said platform and changed back to normal.

"Best not to question," Jasmine said as she looked into the Spy Scope.

"WHO GOES THERE!?"

"What was that?!" Shantae panicked as she unknowingly jumped into Jasmine's arms.

"...Get off me," Jasmine bluntly said.

"KNOW THAT IF YOU WISH TO LOOK THROUGH ME, I MUST FIRST LOOK THROUGH YOU!" The voice, which was now clearly coming through the Spy Scope, demanded.

"I certainly hope you mean through our hearts or souls," Shantae said, still in Jasmine's arms. Jasmine dropped her upon realizing this. "OW! Hey!"

"OF COURSE THAT'S WHAT I MEANT!" The Spy Scope snapped. "...I SEE THAT YOU BOTH WISH ONLY TO SAVE A PEACEFUL PEOPLE FROM A HORRIBLE FATE AT THE HANDS OF EVIL. LOOK NOW, THROUGH THE EYEPIECE, AND CHOOSE YOUR DESTINATION!" Jasmine and Shantae shared a high five at this. They were good to go.

"We've got nothing to lose," Jasmine said as she looked through the eyepiece, while Shantae kept her hands on her back. Looking around, Jasmine saw a large island with a volcano on it, with Risky's ship docked nearby. "I see it! That has to be the place!"

"BY MY POWER, I WILL SEND YOU BOTH THERE!" The scope revealed.

"Erm...okay, but if you send us there by magic, how do we get back?" Shantae asked.

"SIMPLY STAND IN MY LIGHT, AND YOU WILL BE RETURNED," The voice explained before warping both girls onto the island.

"What is this place?" Jasmine asked now that she got to see the island up close.

"It looks like an enormous Tinkerbat factory!" Shantae explained.

"Then let's go wreck it!" Jasmine said as she pointed her boomerang towards the factory.

"You said it!" Shantae agreed as they rushed forward, ready to take down anything in their paths. Sure enough, there were a ton of Tinkerbats waiting in the factory, but Jasmine and Shantae were much stronger than them. That being said, there was still plenty of stuff to worry about. Risky had put so many booby traps in the factory that the girls wondered how she or her Tinkerbats could even reach the end. But in the end, the girls were able to reach the pirate queen with ease.

"It's over Risky!" Jasmine declared as Shantae used her elephant form to smash through the metal door blocking the way in.

"So, you two just couldn't mind your own business, could you?" Risky asked, strangely smug sounding. "Had to see what my army was building! Well, here's your answer! Thanks for all four magical stones, I'm about to put the finishing touches on my Steam Powered Behemoth! With me at the helm, no one will ever oppose my rule again! Ho ho ho!"

"Bring it on!" Jasmine declared as she got into a battle stance. Shantae did something similar.

"Prepare yourselves for the might of my All-Purpose Steam-Powered TINKERTANK!" Risky boasted before pulling a lever that opened a trapdoor under Shantae and Jasmine.

"How did we not notice that lever when we came in?" Shantae asked.

"No idea," Jasmine admitted with a shrug. Then gravity took over, sending the girls down the shaft screaming. When they finally landed, they found themselves looking up at the Tinkertank from a platform conveniently attached to it.

"That thing is huge!" Shantae exclaimed.

"You know what they say! The bigger they are!" Jasmine began.

"The harder they fall!" Shantae finished as the girls shared a fist bump before diving into the machine. They both knew what they had to do.

Destroy all four stones.

Splitting up, the girls were able to deal with them with ease. This opened up the way to the core of the machine, which was also quickly smashed to pieces.

"We did!" Shantae cheered.

"We shouldn't be celebrating yet! This thing is gonna collapse!" Jasmine exclaimed. Sure enough, the monstrous mech quickly started to fall apart. Thankfully, the girls were able to find a safe spot to jump from. Unfortunately, Risky had landed in the same spot. And she was PISSED.

"NOOOOO!" She wailed. "HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?! My Tinkertank! It's nothing but scrap! I'll slice you two to bits and dance on your runny innards!"

"Not if we can help it!" Shantae said as she readied herself for battle while Jasmine pulled out her boomerang. Despite not putting weapons on her Tinkertank, Risky herself was a tough fighter. She could use her sword for a flurry of quick slashes, jump around, dash all over the place with her sword, toss it like a boomerang and much more. By the time the fight ended, Risky had lost her hat and tore a pant leg, Jasmine's own hat had several tears in it and was heavily favoring one leg, and Shantae had tears in both pant legs and had lost one of her bracelets blocking a slash from Risky.

"Give up, Risky! You're finished!" Shantae ordered as she shifted out of spider form.

"NEVER!" Risky shrieked. "YOU'LL NEVER LEAVE THIS ISLAND ALIVE! HO HO HO HO!" With that, she ran off.

"We need to get out of here now!" Jasmine yelled over the sounds of explosions. She was in a lot of pain, but she fought through it to turn into her dragon form.

"You don't have to tell me twice!" Shantae said as she forced herself to perform her harpy dance. With some quick flying, the girls were able to escape before the island blew up.

"That was too close!" Jasmine exclaimed. "Right, Sha-" But Jasmine never got a chance to finish the thought as she watched Shantae pass out and start to plummet towards the water below. Thinking quickly, Jasmine flew under her, catching her before flying back towards Scuttle Town's docks. Thankfully, Mimic was waiting.

"Jasmine! What happened?!" Mimic worriedly asked as he looked over Shantae. It was then Jasmine noticed that she had turned back to normal.

"Risky was tougher then we thought. She got away and then Shantae passed out as we were flying away," Jasmine explained, taking a seat in hopes of resting her wounded leg. Thankfully, after a few seconds, Shantae began to stir.

"Ugh…" Shantae groaned as she forced herself to stand up.

"Are you okay?" Jasmine asked.

"How did you pass out?" Mimic asked.

"It...doesn't matter. Mimic, we're sorry. We had to destroy the steam engine. We didn't have a choice…" Shantae trailed off. Mimic moved to place a hand on her shoulder.

"Don't worry about that...I can see now that the world isn't ready for steam engines. I'm just glad you two came back alive," Mimic said as he pulled girls into a hug. Despite Jasmine's leg still being in agony, she chose to enjoy the hug as it was.

"Uncle Mimic, Jasmine," Shantae began as the hug broke up. "I've decided to tell the mayor that I'm not a full fledged genie. If he's going to keep me as one of the town's guardians, I want him to know the truth." Jasmine silently gasped, but broke into a smile. Seems like her sister learned something this adventure.

"Alright, if you feel that strongly about it. I'll leave it up to you," Mimic said. Jasmine hobbled over to Shantae.

"I'll be right here with you, no matter what anyone thinks or says about you," Jasmine reassured her with a smile. Shantae returned the smile just in time for the mayor to walk over.

"I overheard what you were talking about with Mimic! Don't worry! You've saved Scuttle Town, you're one of our heroes!" The mayor explained.

"Really?" Shantae asked, stars in her eyes.

"Yes! Absolutely! I don't care if you're a half genie or not! You'll always be our champion," The mayor assured her.

"Told you everything would work out," Jasmine said simply. Shantae just wrapped her arms tighter around her big sister.

And with that, the first game is finished! Whew. This was crazy. I am really looking forward to the games that follow. But that's not till next time.
