"Tomoe, Will you stop being so clingy." Nanami said.
Tomoe's ears flattened.
"It is my duty as your familiar to protect you that includes me staying by your side." Tomoe retorted.
"Tomoe we both know you've taken it to far... is there something wrong?" Nanami asked.
Worry showed through her eyes.
"Nonsense! Your just to stupid to see how weak you are!" Tomoe's fur stood up on his ears.
Nanami's eyes flashed from worry to anger in a split second.
"Then explain what you were protecting me from when you followed me to the doctors, opened the door in the middle of an examination, and attacked the doctor."
"How was I supposed to know it was normal to take your shirt off during an examination? I thought he was a pervert!"
"Or when you were watching me sleep the other night!" Nanami said with increased anger
"I told you I was just making sure no one attacked you in your sleep." Tomoe's said defensively.
"Or how about what happened today!" Nanami screeched
Tomoe didn't answer.
...Flashback...
Nanami and Tomoe were at the Fair. Nanami had learned to tolerate the roller coaster, if it meant she could see Tomoe smile. After they got off the ride they set forth into the crowd of people. "Nanami, why are you walking so strangely?" Tomoe questioned.
Nanami looked down at herself. She was walking with her legs close together.
"You go get some popcorn I need to use the restroom." In the crowd of people, all Tomoe heard was "popcorn." He nodded and started walking towards the stand, assuming Nanami was behind her. When he bought the popcorn, he looked back to see no Nanami. "Where could that foolish girl have gone?" He muttered to himself. He searched everywhere he could think of, Much to the terror of the people. He jumped onto the roller coaster just before the tracks went down.
"Nanami!" he yelled. He scanned left and right, then leapt off just before it dipped down. leaving everyone screaming on the rails. He checked the Ferris Wheel jumping from cart to cart, yelling Nanami's Name like a madman. At the very top he saw a girl and boy kissing. He had mistaken the girl for Nanami and pulled her off the cart. "So this is what you want to do behind my back, I'm going t-" when he saw the face of a normal civilian crying, he let go. "My mistake maim I thought you were someone-"
She wacked him with her purse. "Who the hell do you think you are, pervert!" She looked at Tomoe's face, his right eye twitched profusely in anger. "Umm.. sir." She stammered. Stepping away in fear.
His eyes widened "Nanami." he whispered and leapt into the air, In an instant he was gone.
...Meanwhile...
Nanami made her way from the long line into the bathroom, finally able to pee.
She sighed, finally able to relieve herself until she heard a booming voice over a speaker say
"Attention, there has been a person with fox-like features terrorizing people! He seems to be looking for a girl named Nanami!"
Nanami's eyes widened, but the voice wasn't finished yet.
"Not to worry, we have notified security and they are on the move looking for both these people."
The splashing of pee in the bowl beneath her intensified "Where the hell is Tomoe?"
"If anyone has seen these people, please report to the main gate."
Just as she was about to finish and find Tomoe, until the door burst open, breaking the lock.
"Tomoe!" Nanami yelled. Shielding her lower regions with her hands.
"Nanami!" He said in relief. He leaned in to hug her, Much to Nanami's dismay.
"Don't You Dare Touch Me. Look at where you are and what I'm doing!"
For the first time, Tomoe looked around him. In realization, he bolted out of the bathroom.
"What the hell am I doing." he muttered to himself. "Sense when did I lose my composure this easily?"
Was it those twenty years? He thought to himself.
The bathroom door slammed into his face.
"Tomoe you have a lot to expl-"
"It's him he's the one who kidnapped me off the Ferris Wheel!"
With little time to think, Tomoe grabbed Nanami and ran to the gates.
More people joined in until a whole crowd was chasing them.
...End of flashback...
"What were you thinking!" Nanami yelled, confused and embarrassed by the mere thought of it.
Tomoe flattened his ears.
Nanami's gentil caring eyes once more showed worry towards Tomoe.
He hated being the source of that look. How could he cause her to worry for him when he was supposed to protect her?
"Like I said, I was just trying to do my job. You are a weak human who couldn't fight a squirrel if her life depended on it! It's not my fault that you're so weak!"
Nanami sighed "That's it, I'm done with you."
He smiled, playing the bad guy.
"Thank goodness it's over, I still have work to do."
He turned away, about to leave.
"Don't bother cooking tonight, I won't be here."
He turned his ear towards the girl.
"And where do you think your going?" he challenged
"Into town." She said coolly.
He turned to Nanami.
"I don't think so."
"YOU don't get to tell me what to do!"
He grabbed her. "As you're familiar, I say you are staying here where I can protect you." he said in a calm voice.
"Let me go!" she yelled in an angry tone
Tomoe looked down at his hand, releasing her without his permission. Damn word binding! He thought.
"Let me leave, she ordered!"
She opened the door to leave.
The word binding held Tomoe there. He watched her now. As he watched his previous master before. He sank to his knees. She was gone.
He looked down at the floor, remembering the first time he was abandoned and yet this time it hurt so different.
He wished Nanami had at least tried to deceive him. He wished he had more of a warning or the strength to stop her.
He sank into the ground and curled into a ball. Once again Tomoe was abandoned and left entirely alone.
