Gamelover41592: She's feeling way better now.

Matt (Guest): Only one DLC story will be getting covered and all games in the main series will be covered. As for which DLC, that goes into spoiler territory

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Life has been kicking my butt lately. But I am back with a bang! And that bang is the start of Pirate's Curse. Whoa that sounded really bad. Let's just get going.

Jasmine found herself tossing and turning as she tried to sleep. Judging from the moans, she could hear Shantae having similar problems. Her dream showed an island far away from Scuttle Town and on it was a grave. A pirate flag hung over it. Then the voice spoke.

"Ho ho ho ho...The magic surrounding me has grown WEAK...Now is the time to invoke the CURSE...HEAR ME, LOYAL SUBJECTS! A new source of evil has been found! Seize it for your MASTER so I can rise again...And take my place as the ONE TRUE RULER of Sequin Land!" The voice began to laugh as Jasmine shot up, gasping for breath.

"That same dream again…" Jasmine mumbled to herself as she played back what she had seen. She had gotten the same dream several times already and nothing about it made sense to her. What made it stranger was that Shantae was also having the dream.

"You too?" Shantae asked before yawning.

"Yeah, still can't make any bloody sense of it," Jasmine admitted.

"...Ever since I became human, it's been the same every night," Shantae pointed out.

"That just leaves me with more questions," Jasmine mumbled. Any further musings were cut off when the girls heard loud rumbling.

"What in the world?!" Shantae exclaimed as she jumped out of bed. Racing to get their clothing back on, the girls rushed outside to see the town in flames. "Scuttle Town is under attack!"

"Finally, some action!" Jasmine said. She had been getting a little stir crazy without anyone attacking. They quickly found Sky and Bolo leading people out of town.

"Sky! Is it another pirate attack?" Shantae asked.

"Worse, it's the Ammo Baron!" Sky exclaimed. Jasmine flinched. They legally couldn't stop him. "He's turning Scuttle Town into a war zone!"

"Great, the one guy we can't attack," Jasmine groaned.

"WHAT!?" Sky, Shantae and Bolo cried.

"What do you mean, 'can't attack'?" Bolo asked. Jasmine sighed.

"I mean, we can't attack him. He owns the town and is free to do whatever he wants. Trust me, I tried to attack Scuttlebutt once and the only reason I wasn't arrested was because the Sultana hates him as well and he can't fight back. Ammo Baron can, so the best we can do is get everyone out," Jasmine said, resigned that for once, she had to listen to the bad guy.

"...Fine, let's get moving," Sky finally said. With another sigh, the four friends rushed into town to get everyone out.

"I think I hate Ammo Baron more then I hate Risky Boots, it's official," Jasmine groaned once the two made it back to the lighthouse. They were able to get everyone to relative safety, but that didn't make it any less draining.

"If it wasn't for her, we wouldn't be in this mess!" Shantae snapped before looking upset. "Even since she stole my magic, things have gone from bad to worse!"

"I wouldn't say you finally getting together with Bolo is bad," Jasmine said, trying to get her sister to smile. Shantae managed a weak one.

"Maybe a hot bath would make me feel better and clear my head," Shantae said with a sigh. Jasmine gave a nod. Switching to her lion form, she curled up on the floor for a nap while Shantae climbed into the bath. About five minutes in, Jasmine realized something important.

"Wait...we don't have a bath tub!" Jasmine said. They had to steal Mimic's when they were cleaning up Shantae the other day!

"No we don't!" Shantae realized. She was suddenly flung out of the tub, letting two clamps hold her in place. "Don't tell me…" Risky Boots then jumped down. Jasmine noticed that she didn't have her hat or normal boots, but didn't think it was important.

"Well, well! Isn-" Risky began, only to be cut off by growling coming from behind her. She turned around to see Jasmine snarling at her, still in lion form.

"You, ten seconds, let my sister and explain why you are here or we see how many pieces I can tear you into!" Jasmine snapped.

Risky sighed. "Always the violent way with you, isn't it? I was almost hoping the trap caught you. But tell me where my men are and your sister lives to see tomorrow."

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Shantae asked, reminding everyone she was still trapped in a bathtub.

"Don't get cute!" Risky snapped. "My men AND my weapons are gone!"

"Maybe they finally realized you are the scum of the universe, ditched you, and took your stuff," Jasmine snarked. Shantae snickered as Risky just growled, but still chose to ignore what was said.

"Who else but you would take them?" Risky continued.

"US!?" Jasmine and Shantae questioned.

"You're the only thief around here!" Shantae added.

"Really!? Then perhaps you can explain why your uncle has my crewman caged up in his lab!" Risky snapped.

"Don't be a drongo!" Jasmine said.

"Okay then. I'll prove you're up to no good!" Risky replied before grabbing the bathtub and rushing out with it, ignoring the protesting Shantae still trapped inside. Jasmine chased after them, fighting back a laugh the whole time.

"Okay, not commenting on why no one noticed us," Jasmine mumbled to herself once they arrived in Mimic's lab. Much like Risky had said, a Tinkerbat was trapped inside a glass container.

"There's my missing man!" Risky boasted. "Right here in dear old uncle's workshop. What have you got to say for yourself now?"

"Mimic was trying to get revenge for his nieces?" Jasmine jokingly offered. Risky glared her down.

"We... we didn't know!" Shantae protested. "But I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation!"

"I know the reason! One of you wanted revenge for that incident with the genie lamp!" Risky snapped. "Just look at my poor defenseless Tinkerbat! He's terrified!"

"Looks fine to us," Shantae deadpanned as she continued to struggle with her restraints. "I can't feel my arms anymore!"

"This is your last chance! Tell me where they are!" Risky demanded. "I want my men! I want my weapons! And I want them RIGHT NOW!"

"Did you hit your head last time we fought!?" Jasmine snapped. "We. don't. know. where. they. Are!" Before she and Risky could get physical, a strange noise began to fill the air.

"Hmm? What's that noise?" Shantae asked. Suddenly, a strange purple and black fog enveloped the Tinkerbat.

"SCREEEEEEE!"

"A CACKLEBAT!" Risky exclaimed.

"A what?" Shantae and Jasmine asked, with Jasmine moving to protect her still helpless sister.

"N- No…." Risky mumbled. "No...it can't be…"

"What can't be?" Jasmine asked.

"What happened to him?" Shantae asked at the same time.

"I'll explain later! Look out!" Risky said. The cacklebat then burst out of the cage. "I'm unarmed! Deal with this creature quickly!"

"Ugh! At least let me get decent first!" Shantae protested as Risky let her go. While she ran off to get clothes from the spare sets the girls kept at the lab, Jasmine jumped into action. The cacklebat didn't do much beyond flying around and trying to divebomb the girls. It wasn't hard to deal with. Upon death, the fog reappeared.

"Here, get rid of that wretched stuff with this!" Risky ordered as she tossed the girls the lamp. They quickly sucked up the fog.

"We got him!" Shantae cheered.

"Now explain what is going on!" Jasmine snapped.

"There's no time," Risky replied.

"Then make time!" Jasmine snapped as she readied her boomerang.

"What about the lamp? You aren't going to try and take it back?" Shantae asked.

"Keep it. I've got better fish to fry," Risky answered. "And so do you two, if the Pirate Master returned to Sequin Land," Risky said before walking out.

"What was that about?" Shantae asked.

"And who is she talking about?" Jasmine wondered. "C'mon, let's see if we can catch her. I want some answers to what's going on here," With that, the two sisters rushed out.

"Well? What do you want? You're both off the hook so get lost," Risky snapped when she saw the two sisters approach her ship.

"We want answers," Jasmine snidely replied.

"This Pirate Master guy. He sounds pretty dangerous," Shantae noted.

"Dangerous?" Risky scoffed. "He was the greatest threat Sequin Land has ever known! The last time he showed up, it took the combined power of every last genie to defeat him!"

"W-wait, you're talking about real genies? They captured him?" Shantae asked.

"He's dead. But don't let that fool you. With the genies gone, the Pirate Master will do everything he can to regain the dark magic and rise again," Risky explained.

"Dark magic?" Jasmine asked. "Was that what that purple fog was?"

"Yes, the stuff that transformed my crewman back there," Risky answered. "The Pirate Master must be stopped, or Sequin Land is history. After all! He has no right to destroy what I've worked so hard to conquer!"

"Uhh...well, maybe we can help!" Shantae offered.

"Ha! Two runts like you wouldn't stand a chance against a foe like the Pirate Master!" Risky scoffed. "I can deal with this myself,"

"Like you dealt with that Cacklebat?" Jasmine asked. Risky flinched a little, but shrugged it off.

"If I destroy the dark magic at its source, I won't have to fight at all," Risky said dismissively. "Cutting off the power he feeds on should keep him in the grave where he belongs. I'm only lacking one thing...a map of the forbidden isles,"

"Library at Sequin Land palace," Jasmine replied. "Which you can't enter without getting arrested, so I guess you need our help after all,"

"...Fine. Get me the map and I will reconsider," Risky said. With a nod, Jasmine and Shantae headed back to the lighthouse to get Jasmine's library card.

"Never thought you would want to help Risky," Shantae said to her sister.

"I don't," Jasmine clarified. "But I would rather stick with Risky then this guy. Better the devil you know,"

"Make sense," Shantae admitted. "Hey, you ever gonna let me come to the library with you?"

"It's personal stuff," Jasmine replied, almost like a robot. It was the same thing she always said. And she wanted to keep it personal. As she grew up, Jasmine always felt like she didn't belong. No one sounded like her. No one spoke like her. And she had no memory before Mimic. As such, she had been checking the library to see if they had anything on people like her. It was a dead end so far. Either way, she didn't want Shantae knowing. She had enough problems without worrying about Jasmine. Either way, after a few fetch quests, they got the map.

"Well, what took you so long?" Risky snapped when she saw them return.

"We found this at the library," Jasmine said as she handed Risky the map.

"Huh! I guess you two good for nothings are good for something after all!" Risky said with a laugh.

"So...will you let us help?" Shantae asked.

"Only if you two agree to do exactly what I say when I say it!" Risky ordered. "The Pirate Master is my foe to content with, not yours! And when this is over, we go our separate ways,"

"Sounds perfect to me," Jasmine said. "Let's get this over with,"

"Hold on...how do we know you won't pull a fast one on us?" Shantae asked.

"Would I lie to you?" Risky mockingly asked.

"Already, I'm regretting this," Jasmine groaned as she face palmed.

"Say hello to the Steam Powered Oceanic Tinker Tub Mark 2!" Risky said as she gestured to her ship.

"Mark 2? What happened to the first one?" Shantae asked.

"You both happened to it! Get on board before I change my mind!" Risky snapped. Shantae and Jasmine walked on board, still wondering if they were making the right choice.

So the plot of Shantae's house arrest is getting ignored because the game did it, so I'm just writing it out. And hey, I get to take another shot at Scuttlebutt! Also, in this game, a lot of characters underwent minor design changes(Shantae and Bolo getting a vest, Sky getting a cape etc), so now, Jasmine has a bandana around her hat, as well as one tied around her boomerang. Anyways, next time, we set sail for the first island. See you guys then!
