Ch. 5

"Is there anything you can do?" Moony asked the Healer as soon as he came out of Harry's room. He had just finished looking over the child.

"I'm afraid not, to be quite honest, I don't think there's anything anyone can do. I'm so sorry Moony and Padfoot," Jackson told the two men. No! This can't be happening. There's got to be something, anything. I'm not willing to let James' child pass through my fingers. I wish there was a way his fever could be transferred over to me.

"Are you sure?" Remus asked. He wasn't going to give up without a fight.

"Hold on, there might be something we could do. Though, we need another boy, Harry's age, coming from a family of pure-blood Dark wizards, and I think I may know just the person. I know James and Lucius always had trouble getting along, but if Harry is going to survive, then we need to have Draco help us," Jackson told the two men.

"Yeah, so what can we do?" Moony asked. At least there might be a chance.

"Yes, I'll get in touch with Lucius, what I need you to do is to comfort Harry," Healer Danktos told them before leaving to go get in touch with Lucius Malfoy while Moony and Padfoot went to comfort their young charge.

~A few minutes later~

"Draco, stand right at Harry's forehead and touch it. I'm going to do a spell and you might feel a little dizzy and some tingling, but other than that it will pass by. Any questions?" Jackson asked the six other people in the room.

"How will we know if it will work?" Sirius asked.

"You know how good and evil cancel each other out? Unless, it's about love." Healer Danktos answered with a question.

"Yeah, so?" Sirius replied.

"Well, good and evil each also represent hot and cold. In this case, good represents hot, and evil represents cold. The spell will make the representations become a reality and henceforth kill, or shall I say cancel, Harry's fever. Any more questions?" the healer answered.

"Can Moony and Padfoot stay?" Harry asked.

"I'm sorry Harry, but that will just make the spell too powerful, and your fever will worsen. They can come back as soon as we're done, okay?" Jackson answered.

"Mmhmm," Harry answered though it was obvious he was upset.

"Cheer up, kiddo, it will only take a few minutes, if that," Healer Jackson tried to cheer up the boy who was laying on the guest bed.

"Okay," Harry replied though he was still scared.

"Any further questions?" Healer Jackson asked before continuing once he was certain there weren't any more questions. "Alright then, let's get this show on the road," Healer Jackson continued. Harry gave Remus and Sirius big hugs before they left the room and Harry laid back down. Draco just waved to his parents before they left the room. This just left Healer Danktos, Harry, and Draco in the room. "Draco, please stand up near Harry's head, and place your hand over his forehead," Jackson instructed the young pale boy with silver eyes. The boy did as instructed without any fuss.

"Ow!" Draco cried out as soon as he put his hand on Harry's forehead.

"What's wrong?" Healer Jackson asked immediately concerned.

"N… n… nothing, but now I refuse to help!" Draco lied at the beginning but told the truth at the end. He folded his arms and turned his back against the two people.

"You're lying, Draco, something is wrong, now either tell me or I'll read it off of you," Healer Jackson warned. That was cool! Healer Danktos could read thoughts!

"How? What? Huh? Fine," Draco answered, confused. He turned back around and uncrossed his arms and showed Jackson his right hand.

"Ouch, okay, umm… we need to move quickly before something extremely bad happens to Harry, Draco, I'm going to need you to fight through the pain," Jackson replied and suddenly rushed into action. The pale boy agreed and he put his hand back on Harry's forehead, the next few moments nobody really remembers clearly, because it happened all so fast. All they knew was that Harry was alive and his fever was killed, or canceled. "Boys, both of you, lay down and try to get some rest. I'm going to go talk with your parents and guardians," Jackson instructed before leaving the room.

Jackson soon came out of the room, rubbing his head. The four adults stood up wanting to know about the boys' wellbeing. "Well, it was extremely rough, but we managed to get Harry's fever cancelled," Jackson started. There was a huge wave of relief that washed over the entire room and the mood lightened. The five adults sat down and waited for Healer Danktos to continue.

"Mr. Black and Mr. Lupin, you may go in to see Harry, now, though he might be asleep," Healer Jackson informed Sirius and Remus. The two men jolted up and ran into the room, walking only a few steps before entering the room making sure to not wake the boys.

"Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy, there was a small complication that happened with Draco," Jackson started.

"I knew it! You, blood traitors, are all the same! You filthy blood traitors!" Lucius Malfoy yelled at Healer Danktos.

"Shh!" Healer Danktos hissed before composing himself and continuing "Please calm down, Mr. Malfoy. For Draco's sake, please keep your voice down."

"What is the complication?" Narcissa Malfoy asked.

"It's not life threatening. It's just a burn, though I have to tell you it's bad. After some um… talking, Draco let me see his hand and it was burnt. I'm unsure how bad it is right now, but it's more than 98 percent, quite bad. Mrs. Malfoy, you may go see Draco," Jackson explained. Mrs. Malfoy stood up and quietly made her way to the guest bedroom.

"Now, it's time to calmly talk about what you said earlier about James Potter," Healer Jackson started turning towards Lucius Malfoy.

"He was a filthy blood traitor! Just like you are!" Lucius yelled, causing Jackson to shush him.

"Excuse me, sir, but please become aware of the language you use. Listen, I don't like the use of that term, and if you want me, Jackson Danktos, Healer, Head of Surgery and Procedures at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, to help your son, Draco Malfoy, I recommend you to stop using that term. That term is way overused. If you want to insult me, call me an Equality Humpback Scoundrel," Jackson continued.

"A what? What in the world is an Equality Humpback Scoundrel?!" Lucius yelled.

"It's a witch or wizard who treats everyone equally, Muggle, Witch, Wizard, young, old, doesn't matter, all are treated equally. Everyone is equal in their books," Jackson answered. This seemed to stop the argument, for now at least. The two men straightened up and headed into the guest room.

"Almost done, there finished," Healer Jackson said, stepping back from the pale boy who was lying next to Harry. He just finished applying dittany and bandages to Draco's burn.

"Now, I'll like to inform everyone of something I've been hiding for as long as I've been here, and I feel that now is the time to share this piece of information. This will be extremely sad, but it has to be said. Today was really challenging. Boys, do you remember saying that if we didn't hurry, that something extremely dangerous would happen?" Healer Jackson started.

The boys did so Healer Jackson continued "That extremely dangerous thing was death. Harry would have died. He could have died today, but luckily he didn't," Healer Danktos finished. The room went extremely still, but then it exploded with excitement from Remus and Sirius, because Harry was the Boy-Who-Lived-Again!
