Hello Hello
Welcome to my little story
Just here to clear up a couple things before I go ahead and get started, answer a few questions to clarify some stuff
First off I'm Yuugi, nice to meet you all, I'm a previous author of the now discontinued story of "Dragon Ball Super: Time Rift and Universal Destruction"
A previous work of mine at a young age, since then I've gotten older and overall better at writing, even if it's only a little
I do appreciate any support, constructive criticism, etc. of my work
Alright now for the heads up

I've downscaled Kale and Caulifla, not buffed Kai

Kai is the protagonist of the story and at one point is used as a rival to the pair with Uub (It all makes sense when I get to that part)
I won't spoil too much but I will say that the pair can compete with Kale and Caulifla even though they've been made to compete with straight up Super Saiyan Blue Goku
A majority of us can agree that them being so strong with no clear reason is pretty annoying, no proper build up or anything, so I came up with a way to pawn it off
Fatigue + Training
The combination of Goku's fatigue he was more than likely experiencing along with wanting to test and train the pair, cause him to not even really be trying, since that isn't his intention
Instead of wanting them out the ring or trying to win the fight, he wanted to push them, making it seem like a genuine back and forth so that they can push themselves through the fight
A simple concept that works in my opinion since it's actually pretty realistic if you think about it
Goku, probably seeing the potential in these two, decides to train them before finishing them off when they were Kefla, as a little lesson they can think of later
With the end goal that they would push themselves to be able to beat him later on next time they meet
It's a simple spell yet quite effective

Continuity
Of course the proper context on what the hell actually happened and when they did is important as well
I'll give a basic rundown of what happened leading up to the beginning of the story for context's sake
And to prevent further confusion, go ahead and get it off my chest early
Basically it goes as follows
Dragon ball - Dragon Ball Z - Battle of Gods arc - Revival of F arc - Goku Black arc - Dragon Ball GT - Rest of Dragon Ball Super (Where the story begins) - Dragon Ball AA
As you can see we have a Dragon Ball Sandwich here
Let me explain
I've done this for two reasons

Reason 1: Recycling assets
The first reason I'm not fully revealing now but I will say this, Super Saiyan 4 doesn't exist
It will go into detail later on but basically Goku and Vegeta use an ascended form of Super Saiyan Blue instead of 4
Exactly the same Ascended SSB that Goku got in the Manga
Which is used for the rest of the series as well
Along with Goku's Kaioken SSB and Vegeta's "Royal Blue" being even MORE powerful than they are in the canon anime
Also this means that both Gogeta and Vegito are canon, and appear twice each

Reason 2: A g e
I need to make Pan and Kai old enough in order to have them d f
So I included GT
he basics with that being that it still goes as planned, with a few tweaks that don't affect anything at all
Like Kai training with Uub while Goku and crew did other stuff
So at the beginning he isn't quite strong at first, which is changed not long before the main story begins

Quick Side Note
Yes, Cabba, Caulifla, and Kale are younger than in the anime by some year, technically
This is simply for consistency
Ya know
Yeeee
The story starts a few months before the Universe 6 Tournament
I'll try to expand upon the Universe 6 Trio as well
And finally, the first few chapters still in the realm of Dragon Ball Super I'm looking at more like exposition
The REAL story doesn't really start till afterwards
So keep that in mind
I might keep it short and sweet and I might expand upon it, I don't really know yet

But what I do know is that I'm gonna get it done
I'm still in school so expect a new chapter once every 1 - 2 weeks
Please bare with me if it takes longer, but I'll try to stay consistent
Feel free follow the story if you want
But I shall be off
This story ain't gonna write itself

Time to get locked and loaded
