Matt (Guest): Sorry, but this goes into spoiler land
Gamelover41592: Thank you
Mostly filler up until the end, but I'm doing what the games should have done a long time ago.
"Is this really necessary?" Sky questioned as she looked over the large party in the town square. A few days prior, a message had arrived from the sultana of Sequin Land. In it, she ordered Mayor Scuttlebutt to be removed from power, with guards sent if he refused. He tried to protest, but the rest of the town was quick to agree with the guards. They had hated him ever since his first time firing Jasmine and Shanate and things only got worse from there. Plus, the new mayor was one of the sultana's most trusted advisors. Thus, the town quickly got to work on throwing a large party to celebrate. There was even talk of making it a town holiday.
"Yes," Jasmine bluntly said as she walked over, a glass of some very expensive wine in hand. Sequin Land had a rather low age requirement for when people were allowed to drink. "That bogan should have been impeached a long time ago."
"Not denying that," Sky replied as she looked into the crowd. Music was playing and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. "Hey, where are Shantae and Bolo?"
"Over there…" Jasmine pointed before trailing off. Sky looked and then proceeded to double facepalm. A very drunk Shantae and Bolo were happily dancing the night away. Shantae's birthday had been a few days prior and she clearly wanted to enjoy it.
"How many have they gone through already?" Sky asked through a strained voice.
"No idea," Jasmine admitted as she took a sip of her own drink. "I might be bunking with you tonight."
"Alright, that's fair," Sky agreed as she left to go get a drink of her own. That wine Jasmine had looked pretty good right now. Now by herself, Jasmine leaned back against the wall as she took another sip. How she was still on her first drink when Shantae and Bolo were already hammered was beyond her. Still, it was honestly great to see Shantae just so happy. She had been suffering nightmares about Nega Shantae and the fact former mayor Scuttlebutt never rehired her and Jasmine was stressing her out. So she'd let her have her fun. Shantae deserved it.
"What's up, peoples!?" Shantae shouted into the microphone to cheers. Clearly, she had managed to get on stage somehow. "Listen up! I got a song I wanna sing! So I'm gonna sing!" The band somehow was able to get the right beat as Shantae launched into her song. Jasmine knew exactly what it was.
"They say we live in the darkness
They say there's trouble ahead
Every day there's sorrow: today, tomorrow
But I'm dancing instead!
'Cause I can dance through the danger
The magic flows through my soul
All around, it's seeming in the dream I'm dreaming
A better day
can't be far away
So I will dance through the danger
And fly away to the stars
Take my lead and I'll start it to the beat of my heart
I'll never give up in my fight 'til the future is bright!
So we will dance through the danger
Together we'll never fail
We will forge a path to our destiny
I ask you to dance with me, so the world can see
That we can dance through the danger
Together we will set sail
For a time and space with a faster pace
Seeing the world as a happier place
Yes, we can dance through the danger
And fly away to the stars
Come along, don't miss this
'Cause I know that this is our time
So we will dance through the danger
Together we will set sail
For a time and space with a faster pace
Seeing the world as a happier place
Yes, we can dance through the danger
And fly away to the stars
Come along…"
At this point, the crowd had been whipped into a dancing frenzy. Jasmine couldn't help but join in. Tonight was a night of celebration for all.
"Can't someturn one the sung?" Shantae slurred out as she woke up(Can someone turn out the sun?). She had a faint memory of what had happened last night. There was a big party because Scuttlebutt got impeached, she was dancing with Bolo and then she started singing that song she had been writing. Everything else was blurry and thinking about it made her head hurt more. Slowly, her mind began to catch up to things, like the fact that she was wearing Bolo's vest and that he was next to her still sleeping. Shantae was about to freak out, only to realize that she was actually enjoying this, so there really was nothing for her to freak out about.
"S-shantae?" Bolo asked as he slowly opened his eyes. Why was the sun so bright? "Where am I?"
"My house...in my bed," Shantae explained slowly. Bolo seemed to understand. His eyes made their way over to the pile of clothes on the floor.
"I think we…" Bolo trailed off. Shantae looked over to see what he was looking at and realized that the vest was the only thing she happened to be wearing at the moment.
"Yeah...me too," Shantae said before smiling. She remembered the event surprisingly well. "It was amazing."
Bolo returned the smile, inwardly breathing a sigh of relief. "Agreed," They went in for a kiss.
"Glad to see you two are finally awake," Jasmine noted with a smirk as she climbed into her and Shantae's shared room. Bolo and Shantae quickly pulled the covers over themselves.
"How long have you been here!?" Shantae exclaimed, trying to hide her rapidly blushing face. Bolo was doing something similar.
"Relax, I just got back. I slept over at Sky's," Jasmine explained, calming the couple down. "Anyways, get dressed and get over to Mimic's. He got something addressed to you."
Once Shantae and Bolo finally got over to Mimic's lab, he pulled out a note.
"I found this in the mail today," Mimic said as he handed it to Shantae.
"It says 'You are invited to the Half Genie Festival on Paradise Island'!" Shantae read, getting more and more excited with every word. "And it says that as long as I perform, any guests I want to bring are free!"
"So we get a prepaid vacation?!" Sky exclaimed joyfully.
"This week is getting better and better!" Bolo cheered.
"This is going to be amazing! My first real vacation!" Shantae cheered.
"Our first real vacation," Jasmine corrected, giving her sister a nudge. With that, everyone headed off to start packing. This was gonna be good and (hopefully) nothing would go wrong.
Yes, I actually slipped Dance Through The Danger in. Do not judge me. Anyways, next time, we enter the home stretch of this story aka Seven Sirens. I will see you then!
