I decided to add this chapter in, since I wrote it after I wrote the previous chapter. My apologies.
Please enjoy.
"Victoria had a strange way of dealing with him. She was never seeking a romantic relationship, they were friends and they tolerated each other, as she placed it." he paused as he remembered that day, "I don't think Sherrinford mean to use her, but something changed."
"Sherrinford was never good with women." Mycroft raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, but he was always up for a good challenge when a women presented it to him. Remember, our neighbor, Tilly?"
Mycroft nodded, "That's irrelevant."
"I don't think it is. Tilly teased him that she kissed him and then there was the stalking."
"He was a child."
"But when he discovered she had kissed another boy, he burned her toys."
"What? When did he do that?"
"Regardless, Victoria must have presented him with one and he took it. The problem is, I don't think she meant to do it. And I don't think it started with a kiss."
The pause between them again. They had to think how they were going to go about this.
"In the midst of it all, how are we going to explain to Mother and Father that they're going to be grandparents?"
Mycrofts face had suddenly turned white as his head snapped to look at him. That was one thing he didn't realize. Not only were they going to be uncles, their parents were going to be grandparents.
"We won't say a word to them yet, right now we need to find a place to hide her before she gives birth."
"Where are you going to keep her that Sherrinford won't come looking for her. How long does she have?"
"The doctors said she's 8 months pregnant. It's only a matter of time."
As they started to devise a plan, they knew they had to be smarter then their brother. How far would Sherrinford go to have her?
Victoria felt heavy. The sedative that had been injected in her and the saline coursing through her veins. It wasn't unpleasant that was for sure. Sleep, it was something she had lacked for a long time and for once, she was able to feel somewhat at ease. Or so she thought. There was a kick on her ribs that woke her from her trance, causing her to wince in pain. Apparently the baby was not happy that she was comfortable. Slowly she opened her eyes and started to place her hands on her belly, but felt a plastic tube by her arm, it was the saline. It was cold, where ever she was. And then the next question, where was she? Slowly she started to take her scenery in and remembering what had happened.
A low growl escaped from her mouth, as she took out the needle that was connected to her hand. Rotating her body to find an easier way to sit up, she realized she was having a hard time. She had become too comfortable and didn't want to get up but from the looks of where she was had angered her. Victoria knew they took her.
Rearranging herself to heave herself out of the gurney, she was able to at least sit up. Luckily no one was near her however, she heard the voices of two men.
Slowly shifting her feet towards them, she heard, "Your elite men! They were anything but! They were a joke. How could they not know that she was pregnant?" hearing Sherlock argue with Mycroft.
"The assignment was only for three months! Pregnancy does not show at three months!"
"Yes it does."
"No, it does not!"
"All women are created different as far as body and how fast it grows."
"Regardless, we will place her in a cottage until she gives birth to the child." Mycroft arguing back as she shifted in his seat.
"And if she escapes?" Sherlock asked.
"I highly doubt she will. Ms. Latimer, has no choice but to rely on us for protection. For her and sake of the baby."
"Baby's" they heard a groggy voice say. Both quickly turning to the sound that was coming from the hallway. Victoria had swayed as she tried to find balance when she felt the jet slightly shift. Mycroft quickly stood up, "You should be resting Ms. Latimer-" as he grabbed her arm and guided her to the chair, but she brushed his arm away.
"Baby's, you idiot. More than one." she growled at him as she held her belly and felt another jolt of pain. Finally giving in, she leaned against the chair and plopped down.
"You mean-" Sherlock was interrupted when she said, "Yes, Sherlock, it's twins. And no, I am not looking for your protection or staying in any cottages. I can't believe you guys!" she said as she shifted in the seat. "Kidnapping a pregnant women."
"You call it kidnapping, we call it a safe solution." Mycroft retorted.
"Can't see it that way." shaking her head at him as she stretched her neck.
"I don't think you understand the importance of this and why it was necessary-"
"Then enlighten me!" she interrupted him as she growled in pain, slowly shifting. "Enlighten me and tell me why this is even happening! How the hell is he still alive?"
A small pause between them.
"We are looking into it-"
"I saw him get shot. I saw that gun pointed at him and he was shot-"
"So did I Victoria, but something happened that we didn't expect! He survived the gunshot wounds and now he is after you, but for what? Why?" Sherlocks tone was dead truthful. "Why is he after you again?"
"I wish I knew-"
"The significance of the chess piece says a lot. It speaks volume, especially when the Queen is the strongest of them all. But you are not the strongest. You are just a pawn in his game, but why hand you the Queen? Why place you in a high totem pole that requires you to be above all else?"
Victoria remained silent as she looked away from him in disgust. Slowly she attempted to stand up but sat back down as he continued his stream of thoughts. "Sherrinford did not reach out to you in person, that much is true. The shock you had was genuine. You've had no communication with him and you've severed all ties with him after the shooting. But why didn't he just come to you himself? Why didn't he approach you himself and have taken you?" he took a breath. "He didn't so much as left you with a note. But it's not like him to do that. Sentiment is not in his nature but neither is love, until now after seeing you like this. But it could be just be plain and simple lust- Which may have been his first time and he didn't understand what he was doing-"
His timing was just right when saw a cup being flung towards him as he dodged it, but it did hit his left shoulder causing him to flinch in pain.
"What was that for?" he yelled at her.
"Fuck you Sherlock! You don't know shit about what happened! You want to talk about love? Or lust? You wouldn't know a goddamn thing about it if it hit you in the face! I bet you're still a virgin!" she yelled at him.
"I'll have you know that I am not a virgin-" he matched her tone, "I have sex like you normal people-"
"But do you know what it's like to have sex with love? Do you even know what love is? Do you know what the feeling is like? I wonder how your mother even loves you with that shitty attitude-" she yelled at him.
"You keep my mother out of this-"
"Will you two shut it!" Mycroft intervened which caused both of them to be silent. "Sherlock, go for a walk?"
"A walk? Where do you suppose I walk, it's a small amount of space-"
"Sherlock, you know what I meant- now move!" he said as his tone spoke with authority. Sherlock and Mycroft looked as if they were ready to start a fight but then they heard a gasp, it was from Victoria. She quickly clutched her stomach and groaned, quietly she said, "I'm sorry guys. I didn't mean to scare you." cooing to her belly. The gesture and the tone she was showing was nothing short of amazing and yet sad, watching this women tend to her babies. Breathing in and out to ease the pain.
Both men watched her as she slowly started to stand up to relieve some of the pain on her body.
"Sherlock, go." Mycroft implored with Sherlock.
Sherlock slowly stood up and walked away from the area.
Victoria continued to inhale and exhale.
"Is there anything I can do for you Ms. Latimer?" Mycroft asked in a soft tone.
Shaking her head, "There is no greater pain and love in the world then carrying a child." she said in a sad tone. Quietly she said, "I don't regret this. I don't regret that I am carrying children. They are the innocence in this world of yours." she paused as she held back tears, "I left, thinking I could start new life. Was it selfish of me to not tell you? Yes. And that was because I wanted my children to be surround by love. I wanted them to be loved and love others. What you have here, between you two is just toxic. There is no love. Only logic. Only truth. I don't know what Ford wanted from me. Then again, I don't know what I really wanted from him either.
Victoria paused as she contemplated a thought, "Sherlock might be right, he may have just lusted but never truly wanted me. But why come back to me?" she said in a tired tone. "What do I have to offer to him? I have nothing more then my brains that he made it well known is, adequate. I don't have a body of a goddess. I have no real money or connections. I have nothing that a man wants-"
"You gave everything Sherrinford wanted, which was a challenge." Mycroft cut her off. "You presented him with a challenge that he could not refuse and that is why he will never let you go."
"How? What challenge?" she said in a tone of disbelief.
"Think hard Ms. Latimer, what did you do?"
Shrugging her shoulders, "I don't know. There was so much that happened before this." While pointing to her belly.
"Ms. Latimer, you need to think long and hard, because we need to know what it is you presented to him. And if there is one thing I know about my brother, is that he will hold strong to it and he will not let it go. Unless he decides to destroy it." he said as his tone became serious.
"Destroy?"
"Yes, Ms. Latimer. He will destroy when he no longer sees what is deem fit in his life. Sherrinford has been trying to destroy himself for years because of us."
"Because of- but why?"
It was then that Mycroft sighed, "The reality is, he wants you out of hiding. He is very much capable of finding you himself, he does, after all, take after the two of us. Sherrinford may be a junkie but he is by no means an idiot. He wanted us involved. He wanted us to be part of this for a reason and he will take you from us. This I know. But my concern is, that he may destroy you in the process."
"Would he destroy me, even in this state that I am?" her tone was one of concern.
Mycroft did not answer her. He didn't get a chance to because his phone rang, causing him to step away from her.
