A/N: Sorry this has been so long – I wasn't sure if I wanted to write again, and I think today it has been some escapism.

Chicago, Fall 2009

The Fall sunshine bathed the entrance to the courthouse in a bright glow that warmed the brick behind Will. He had arrived fifteen minutes before his arranged meeting with Alicia to grab them each a coffee, but primarily to ensure he didn't arrive a hot and sweaty mess. Hot and sweaty from an impromptu run was one thing, but hot and sweaty, his heart thumping in ways it shouldn't, from thinking too deeply about his co-counsel was another. He needed to keep his emotions, and heartrate in check today, not least to avoid arousing the suspicions of Colin Sweeney even further.

Will saw Alicia walk around the corner from the parking structure and felt his heartbeat quicken. Her choice of skirt suit accentuated his lithe figure and made him wish he was the man taking her home. Trying to calm himself, he picked up his briefcase and moved towards her. He hoped the combination of excitement over seeing her and the anxiety of returning to court did not overpower his swan-like exterior.

"Morning Will," Alicia said as she neared him, smiling broadly. He closed the gap between them to just two feet and proffered the coffee cup; she took it, "Thanks," she said, before following it up with a cheeky, "at ease, soldier," in reference to his marine comment earlier.

"Ma'am, yes ma'am," Will replied, giving her an impromptu salute – taking care not to drop his case, notes and spill his coffee.

Alicia giggled like a schoolgirl – it was the second time that morning she found herself checking she wasn't really fifteen again. "Come on, let's go in," she gesticulated to the entrance, "I wonder if Sweeney is here yet?"

"I haven't seen him," Will replied, "although I'm itching to get back to court, I'd much rather we had a delay and I could just spend the day with you." He smiled at her and laughed, a little nervously.

"Got an itch you need scratching then, Will?" She winked at him, as she walked through the door, a court recorder held open for her. She hoped she hadn't said too much or been too suggestive with that comment, or last night, but she was really excited about seeing, and working with, Will again. And boy did he look good in a Brioni.

…..

Settling themselves behind their table, Alicia and Will talked through their strategy in hushed tones, heads together, lips only inches, and seconds apart. Underneath the table, Alicia adjusted her skirt and her hand grazed Will's thigh. She felt a little frisson of excitement at that moment and quickly removed it, coughing slightly and tucking some hair behind her ear closest to Will as her hand moved back into sight. She wondered if Will had noticed. He had registered the slight brush of Alicia's right hand on his pant leg, ever so quickly, perhaps accidently, but it sent a cool shiver down his leg, his skin bristling with electricity and his breathing a little more rapid than he would like. Seriously, he thought to himself, you need to calm down. He turned to Alicia, "You ready?"

"As I'll ever be," she replied.

At that moment the door at the back of the courtroom opened and in walked Colin Sweeney. "Good morning, love birds," he said as he greeted them. "Err," Will stumbled, "good morning Mr Sweeney."

"Mr Sweeney," Alicia nodded.

"Mrs Florrick," he replied, his tongue slithering over his lips in a snake-like fashion, taking in the sexual tension between his two lawyers.

A/N: Sorry it is short, I only decided to get back to the story today.
