Fighting for the fate of the world was Dewey's birth right. Ever since his Uncle Scrooge had appointed him the savior of the Earth.
Jormungandr, of course, is still a jerk.
Dewey is -. After all -.
Going to defeat him once again, and this time with Webby at his side.
His brothers, Huey and Louie, were sitting in the stands with their girlfriends; Violet beside Huey and Lena in between Violet and Louie. Lena had promised Dewey that this time she'd make sure Louie didn't go nuts and start selling Dewey out with merchandise and distracting him.
Dewey couldn't afford any distractions.
Not this time.
Though, with Webby standing near by waiting to be tagged in at moments notice, was very distracting, and poor Webby was trying to be anything but that for Dewey.
Could she help if it he kept stealing glances at her as he climbed into the ring?
No.
Could she help it if he smiled that cute smile he always did and wink at her, making her stomach knot into a million butterflies?
No.
Did Dewey even know what he was doing to her when he does that?
Absolutely NOT!
She had no idea when she started to have feelings for Dewey, but she did, and what scared her the most at the moment was that he didn't feel the same about her. She had planned on telling him how she felt before this fight, but with the why things seemed to be going, she didn't want to distract him.
"Hey, you okay, Webbs?" Dewey whispered.
Webby blinked at her breath hitched when she realized that Dewey was mere inches away from her face, and, feeling it get extremely hot, she nodded and squeaked out a not so impressive yes making Dewey smile and chuckle softly at it.
Dewey knelt down close to Webby and Webby tried not to blush as she handed Dewey a towel, making their hands brush against each other, as she did. Dewey thanked her just as the green smoke started to appear out of no where. The wind around them picked up and the lights went out, only to come back on again as thunder cracked and hit the ground right in the middle of the ring.
Dewey flinched a bit, nervous Webby guessed, and slowly stood up straight.
"Hello, again,"Jormungandr snarled. His eyes gleaming with hatred for the now, sixteen-year-old blue clad duck. "Champ Popular." He crossed his buffed up arms and glared down at him.
Dewey groaned.
Did he really call himself Champ Popular back then?
How did he forget something like that?
"What's wrong, short stack?" Jormungandr asked, with a small chuckle as the crowd began to clap and stomp at the familiar sound of We will rock you. "Getting cold feet already?"
Dewey snorted.
"Not a chance. I beat you once. I can do it again." Dewey shot back, getting into a fighting stance. Webby couldn't help but beam at him from behind his back. Unfortunately Jormungandr noticed this and a wide grin spread across his face.
"Gotten a bit braver since we last fought, eh?" He asked, as he cracked his knuckles, and his neck, before rounding his shoulders and putting up both his hands into fists. "Is it because of the girl? I can crush your spirit just as easily as I can her." He threatened.
Dewey clinched his jaw and bawled his hands into fists.
Webby glanced nervously over at Lena in the stands she gave Webby a reassuring smile and a small wave. Scrooge wasn't here on the count of he had some business to attend to dealing with the F.O.W.L threat along with Della and Donald.
"You're gonna wish you hadn't said that." Dewey snarled at him as the bell sounded and they both walked up into the middle of the ring.
Webby looked back over at Dewey and noticed he had more determination in his eyes, and more confident in his posture at his last words, and her heart swelled up love for him.
"Bring it on then."Jormungandr snarled at him holding up his fists.
The bell sounded again and they both came at each other. Webby covered her eyes as she heard the blows. Last time Dewey had magical hair that had him grow muscles and grant him strength, this time, though, he only had pure Deweynessas she liked to call it.
Of course, he had gotten a lot taller despite Jormungandr name calling, and he had gain more muscle from all the recent adventures, fighting off the agents of F.O.W.L and taking up training with her and her Granny.
But that still didn't stop Webby from worrying and when she heard Dewey cry out in pain and bones breaking from an impact caused by Jormungandr she quickly uncovered her eyes and narrowed them at the snake. Jormungandr had Dewey pinned down on his back and digging his rather large and strong elbow.
Webby flinched when she saw blood coming out of Dewey's mouth as he tried gasping for air.
She couldn't take this.
Couldn't watch this.
She had to do...
Something.
The ground beneath them started to crack open and Webby made her split second decision to defy all the odds against them and tag herself into the ring to help Dewey as a team.
She leaps into the ring and rushes at the snake. Cheers could be hear all around her. Lena and Violet's being the loudest among them as she pushed off from the ground with her leg out stretched, hitting the snake square in the jaw.
What would have caused any normal ducklings foot or ankle to break from the impact of an immortal God, Webby merely felt a slight tingling feeling shoot up from her ankle up to her thigh as she dropped back down next to Dewey.
Dewey groaned and Webby quickly went to help him up.
"W,Webby -?" He choked out.
"Sorry, Dewey. Couldn't help myself." Webby whispered at him as she held onto him tightly.
Dewey chuckled softly at that and before any of them could make another move Jormungandr came at Webby, and Dewey (still trying to recover from his recent blow), could do nothing but watch helpless as Jormungandr grabbed both sides of Webby's head and squeezed it tightly making her eyes pop out.
Sudden flashbacks of when he and Webby first met and events afterwards started flashing through his mind as panic overwhelmed him.
Woo-oo! :
"You know us?"
"Of course, researching Mr. McDuck and his family is kind of my hobby!"
Spear of Selene:
"It's okay...It's okay..."
SkyPiratesin the Sky :
"I'm sweet andsensitiveand full of secrets!"
"S...Stop!" Dewey shouted at him, suddenly angry.
Jormungandr glanced over at him but didn't let go of Webby as he snickered at him.
"Or what?" He shot back at him.
Webby cried out in pain as Jormungandr squeezed her head even harder. Webby's feet kicked and lashed out at him as she tried to struggle to get free but to no avail.
Dewey glance around hoping that something would come at a moments notice to help him out. His eyes fell on Lena who locked eyes with him and she nodded slowly. She held up her hand slowly and her light blue magic engulfed her hand and she shot it out towards him making Dewey suddenly feel invincible.
Rather this was cheating or not.
Dewey wasn't about to letJormungandr hurt anyone he cared about.
Especially Webby.
He crouched down as if he was about to run, and as blue lighting flashed around him he bolted towards the snake head on in the gut, making Jormungandr gasp out and drop Webby. What happened next Webby didn't know because as she fell to the ground she blacked out, with Dewey shouting her name the last thing she hears before she eyes closed and she was surrounded with nothing but pure darkness.
