Chapter 5: A Deal

Kia blinked. She had frozen in place at who she was seeing. A skeleton in dark clothing had stood behind her before she had spun around to see who was stalking her. He (she most defiantly knows him to be a he, she doesn't really know why) stared her down with one bright red ring in his left eye socket. He was sweating heavily; the clear magic droplets dotted his brow bone in clusters. His jaw was stretched into a sharp toothed wide smile, one golden fang on his left winking at her in the dim light. His outfit was black and red with yellow highlights.

Kia lowered her hand from next to her head. He felt familiar to her. He made her … relax. It was alarming since she never trusted anyone to relax. Kia kept on smiling brightly with her hand between them.

"Hi! Noticed you were following me, thought I'd introduce myself to a new pal. What's your name?"

His smile seemed to have widened.

"heh, at least you know how to greet a pal, here. i'm sans, sans the skeleton."

His voice was low and gravely. A rattle went up Kia's spine. It was so familiar. Why? Kia grasped his hand.

Sudden high voltage coursed throughout Kia's body.

Her head was knocked back by the sheer force of the wattage. She felt the twitches of her body moving uncontrollably, her HP lowering. Once the volt ran out of juice, all she could do was chuckle and grip his hand harder. Her other hand slowly rising to cover her face. This was all scarily familiar somehow. But she was done fucking around.

Kia swung her head back to stare down Sans back into his single eye light through her fingers. Her hand slid down to her jaw and she nipped some of her fingers. His smile looked strained, like he actually thought that could kill her. She crushed the modified hand buzzer in his phalanges. Her human golden blue eyes disappeared for her usual crimson eye lights and black sclera. Her smile stretched wide in her own pointed grin, and her hands were replaced with her ivory claws.

Kia was going to speak when a femur burst out of the ground and smashed its way through her jaw and up through her skull. If she still had a face, she would have blinked in shock. He just destroyed her mandible and smashed up her face. That fucking hurt! The asshole! Her HP had actually shot straight to zero with that move. But, she refused.

Kia laughed softly as her face structure was reconstructed, absorbing the magic in the femur that had did damage to her for repair. Sans, at this point she was going to just call him Jawbreaker, had ripped his phalanges out of her hand.

"You know, that fucking hurt, you asshole. Then again, you don't really care do you? Otherwise, you wouldn't have done it.

KIA LV 120 HP 860/860

"Let's start fresh: Nice to meet you Jawbreaker, I'm Kia. Subject DT, Kia. Do you really want to be Killed In Action?"

Jawbreaker actually looks terrified right now. Kia cackled. She was just about ready to dust this hostile Monster, as was in her real job description, but something stopped her. Her claws stopped from closing into a fist. The crimson magic forming behind the skeleton froze. It was a feeling that was beyond her comprehension. It frustrated her to no end! Her magic dissipated.

Kia glared down her nose at the sweating skeleton in front of her. Then she noticed the thick spiked collar under his chin. She hummed as a thought passed through her mind. Her grin softened into something sinister.

Jawbreaker got spooked looking at her new grin and disappeared right in front of her.

Kia paused in fascination. That would be a useful skill to have. Kia turned toward the small wooden bridge and useless fence and passed right on through. She had something to chase after now. It will be so much fun!

Striding passed a broken lamp and a rundown shack, Kia continued on her way to finding Jawbreaker and the being who gave him his collar. If she can't kill him, then she will just take him under custody. Before she could leave the area, something was coming her way. Kia stopped to lean on one leg, popping out her hip. She crossed her arms to hold onto her elbows.

Kia observed the tall figure marching in her direction. The figure slowly came into focus. Kia's frown of concentration turned upside down at the sight of another skeleton.

This one was tall, probably as tall as Toriel was. His outfit was armor like in dark shades and pointed. He was close enough for Kia to see two scars crossing through his left eye socket. He didn't have eye lights, but Kia could automatically feel his gaze on her.

Raising one hand, Kia twiddled her fingers in greeting. She blinked at the movement at the new comer's tall boots. Her grinned turned ecstatic! She straightened and opened her arms. Raising her hand into the air to wave, she caught Jawbreaker's attention.

"Yoohoo! Jawbreaker!"

He slunk back behind the taller Skeleton's calf. Speaking of the taller skeleton, he looks really pissed off.

"SANS! YOU USELESS PIECE OF SHIT, QUIT HIDING LIKE A COWWARD! HUMAN, YOU SHALL PROCCED NO FUTHER. I, THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE PAPYRUS, SHALL CAPTURE YOU. IF YOU DO NOT COMPLY, YOU SHALL DIE!"

Kia raised her eyebrow. She lowered her hand to wave him away.

"Yeah, interesting, move over. My business is with Jawbreaker there."

Before Kia could move over to Sans, Papyrus initiated a BATTLE. He was furious now. Kia didn't care. She was irritated that she couldn't see Sans anymore because of the dark barrier surrounding herself and this new guy. Papyrus' figure was a bright grey, all his color gone.

"YOU DARE TO IGNORE ME, HUMAN! PREPARE TO DIE!"

Her body has outlined in red. Her SOUL was exposed. The little marble of Toriel tugged along by a string of liquid DETERMINATION. Getting a good look at her almost broken SOUL, it damped her mood. It pissed her off. Kia dropped into her fighting stance. She waited and waited … and waited. What was he doing?

"HURRY UP HUMAN AND DECIDE ALREADY!"

What is he talking about? It was then she noticed the options she had in an orange glow.

Rolling her eyes, Kia bypassed the options and dashed forward. She already knows what to do without the options presented before her. The buttons disappeared behind her. She grinned at the stunned skeleton. He firmed his stance and glared down at her with icy distain. Crimson magic flowed. A bone staff blocked her crimson dagger. Kia jumped back. She was itching to use more of her magic.

Ivory claws clenched her dagger as she blocked a swing by Papyrus. He stared down at her during their stalemate in shock. Kia used that to her advantage. With a lunge, Kia pressed her strength against him until he took two steps back. Papyrus growled. Kia grinned at him cheekily. He firmed his footing and pushed back. Kia didn't move. The two combatants stared each other down. The other obviously glaring.

"SO HUMAN, YOU ARE A MAGE THEN. NYEHAHAHAHA ONCE I DEFEAT YOU, I, THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE PAPYRUS WILL BE RECOGNISED IN UNPARALLELED STRENGTH. I SHALL HAVE FOLLOWERS, MINIONS, AND POWER TO MY NAME! NO ONE WILL STAND IN MY WAY!"

Kia's iris vanished. Her grin creaked ominously. She had the magic dagger burst into magic particles from her death's grip. Kia stood and wobbled loosely. Her laugh was soft at first, over shadowed by Papyrus' bellowing cackles. Then her volume grew to overcome his as he slowly lowered his volume in confusion. Kia raised a hand to cover her face. Her ivory claws glowing against her red outline. Then her image wavered.

"You dare," Kia whispered, "to call me a Mage. Now, I'm done fucking around. You want to capture me or kill me."

A garnet blur shrouded Kia's crimson outline. Papyrus shot a couple of bones at her garnet blur. A garnet naginata swiped out of the blur and sliced Papyrus' projectiles out of trajectory. Kia grinned with her pointed silver teeth. Her bright white hospital gown fluttered with her movement. Her carbon fiber skeletal limbs could hardly be seen with the dark background. Fiery garnet hair curled wild and long down her spine as she stood to Papyrus' height. Slit garnet eye lights glimmered in dark amusement at the frozen Papyrus.

"Tell me Papyrus, do you want to be Killed In Action?"

Papyrus stumbled. Kia stepped forward, enjoying how Papyrus was trying to recollect himself. She took another step. Suddenly, she was right in front of Papyrus. Her gaze was freezing and heavy. Papyrus swiped at her with his bone club. Kia caught it. With a jerk, she was able to take custody of the weapon. Using her strength, Kia crushed the reinforced bone into pieces. Kia took a deep breath. The magic from the broken pieces flowed up and was absorbed into her. Kia sighed at the new flavor. It was interesting.

Opening her eye sockets, Kia took in the sight of the frightened Papyrus.

Papyrus shook. He had never felt this much fear in all his life. Glancing once more at the STATs, the supposed human was to have. He shuttered. He … He didn't want to die! HE WASN'T GOING TO DIE IF HE HAD ANYTHING HE CAN DO! He attacked and attacked, but nothing worked. She was toying with him, taking amusement from his struggling.

He laid there in the snow. His HP was down to one. She had beaten him. His dust piled around him as his missing limbs faded into nothing. He was … defeated. It wasn't even a fight. Papyrus watched as this K.I.A. raises her bladed staff to dust him. If he was going to be dusted, then he will go with dignity. He closed his eye sockets, waiting.

Nothing Happened…

He opened his eye sockets to see his trash of a brother standing in front of him, in the path of the blade. The blade had stop before it could skewer the piece of shit. Various bones of blues color surrounded K.I.A. It intersected her movements. Her cold and emotionless stare wavered with confusion. She closed her eye sockets with one of her brow bones twitching.

"Oh, and what do you think you are doing, Jawbreaker?"

Sans was sweating faster. Like hell, he was going to let his brother be dusted right in front of him. He glared balefully at the Lady Skeleton in front of him. He jolted in surprise. He was trapped in a garnet hand from behind. He was lifted up into the air.

He struggled.

Nothing happened.

He was now eye level with the thing going to dust his brother. He watched in strained horror as her weapon started to extend towards his defeated brother.

"w-wait! s-stop!"

The blade stopped just an inch from Papyrus' chest plate. K.I.A. gazed at Sans impassively.

"Give me a reason why I shouldn't kill him?"

Sans eye light switch back and forth between his brother and his executioner. Sans gritted down on his teeth. His red ring eyelight disappeared. They were replaced with passive white stars filled with so much emotion.

"He's my little brother."

It was a reason. K.I.A. raised a brow bone. Her small frown slowly grew into a sly grin.

"And what exactly are you willing to do or give me in exchange for you little brother's life?"

Sans closed his eye sockets. Papyrus wheezed weakly. At this point he was just a spine, rib cage with what was left of his armor, and his skull, Papyrus hated it. His life was in another's hands. If he was going to live or die, it will be on his own terms!

"S-sans, you PieCe oF shIT! S-stay OUT OF THIS!"

Papyrus breathed heavily, cursing as much as he could. Eye sockets clenched in pain, he gritted his fangs in anger and pain. Sans chuckled weakly.

"s-sorry boss, i-i can't do that. I'll give you anything. Name it and i'll do it."

Kia grinned widely in glee.

"I accept your terms Sans the Skeleton."
