Lucy was pacing around the house. She couldn't believe that her team was acting like they were. Lucy couldn't go anywhere with them without Natsu and Erza spouting concern about her since he left. Finally, she had it and told them she wanted a break. This brought her to where she was pacing back and forth waiting for grandfather Crux to finish his search on Kaori Dreyar. Something Laxus had said at her old home struck a nerve. "Miss Lucy…" She looked at him with a hopeful expression. "I'm sorry, but there isn't much to go on. I can only give you what information I have. Kaori Dreyar was born in the year 743 to Larae and Alexei Serena. The Serena family is a family in Magnolia that runs a local bakery. It was the year of 752 that Kaori met Ivan. He brought her into the Fairy Tail guild. In 753 she became an official member and used her script magic to go on quests with Ivan. By 760 she married Ivan and in the year 761 her first child was born Laxus."
Lucy gave her spirit an odd look. "You said first? Did she have more?" she asked. "Yes, in the year 777 she had another child, but by this time she no longer went by Kaori Dreyar due to the fact that Ivan had been trying to hunt her down. Her new name is Aoi Reign. Her daughter's name is Yumi Reign. That is all the information available," he finished. "Thank you." With that she ran off towards the one place she knew would be helpful. Stopping outside the bakery she smiled as she walked in. An elderly couple greeted her. "Hello Lucy, what can we get for you today. "Nothing. I'm actually wanting to speak with you about Kaori Serena," she said. The two froze and looked at her. "Why?" asked Alexei. "She disappeared the same time my mom died, and I think Laxus should get to see his mom again." Larae smiled and nodded. "Alexei, I think it's time we tell our long-kept secret." He sighed and nodded before sitting down. "Fine. The only reason we knew what Ivan planning was because Kaori told us. When she found out Kaori came to us and we told Makarov. She feared that her son would hate her for causing Ivan to be kicked out and left shortly after giving us the information. When enough time had passed, we told Makarov what Kaori had told us," said Larae.
Lucy listened intently as they dished out any information they could on Kaori and her possible whereabouts. As it turned the only details, they really had was her name and the last known address for her. Thanking them she promised to try and bring Iris home. Walking out she went to the guild to see Mira washing beer mugs. "Mira, I won't be around for a little while. I have some personal stuff to take care of so don't worry," she smiled and hugged her friend. With that she left and headed to the town that the couple had mentioned. With a photo in hand she had grabbed of Kaori from Laxus' room Lucy started to ask around. After a few hours she got a break through. "Her? I think her name was Aoi if I remember about two years back, she moved to live in the forest just outside of Hargeon. Try there and if not, you can always ask Lamia Scale to help you," said the man. "Thank you so much," said Lucy enthusiastically.
The next day Lucy had taken off after asking Lamia Scale if they had seen her and saw Lyon. "Lyon!" He turned to see Lucy and smiled. "You were that girl on Galuna Island with Gray right?" he asked. Nodding she asked him about a woman with a small child most likely about the age of seven. He nodded as he looked at the only photo she had of Kaori. "Hmm I think I have seen her around a few times, but she mostly kept to herself. Is she in trouble?" he asked. "No, nothing like that. She was a member of our guild that disappeared some time ago and were trying to find her so when new information came through, we couldn't just stand by," she smiled. Nodding he told her he just saw her a couple of days ago.
Lucy thanked him before leaving to head into the forest. She had never truly been on her own and felt slightly unnerved by it to find out how alone she felt. Suddenly she felt something or someone pulling her towards the north of the forest. Walking into the small clearing she saw a small girl. When she saw Lucy, fear filled her eyes and she ran, but not before Lucy saw her eyes. The girl may have had light brown hair, but the grey eyes she had were unmistakable. Chasing after her she called out to the girl who just sped up and disappeared. When Lucy stopped, she sighed. "Man, I wish I knew where she ran off to." Suddenly Lucy felt someone else there "Solid script Blades!" Lucy ducked out of the way in time to see a woman with Blonde hair and green eyes. She may look older, but that was definitely Kaori. "Who are you!?" she shouted. "I'm from Fairy Tail." Lucy realized this was a mistake when she formed a stance. "Ivan sent you to find me? Well I won't go back! Solid Script Magic Fire!" As she tried to avoid the fire Loke came through the gate and protected her. Weighing her options as Kaori threw script magic at them, she sighed. "Loke I don't want to do this, but I need you to grab the girl Yumi is her name. I want to talk, but Kaori won't listen to reason." Nodding he disappeared as she kept Kaori distracted.
Kaori was in the middle of creating another script when she heard Yumi squeak. Turning Lucy saw her chance and tackled her to the ground. Once she had her wrists pinned to the ground and Lucy was sitting on her stomach. "Listen to me. I don't want to hurt you. I assume you are Kaori Dreyar considering you said Ivans' name. All I want to do is talk," said Lucy. She turned to Loke. "You can let Yumi go. Thank you Loke," smiled Lucy. "Of course, Lucy." With that he disappeared as Yumi ran up to where her mom and Lucy were. Lucy turned back to see Kaoris' eyes had softened and let her go. Sitting up as Lucy got off her Yumi launched herself into her mothers' arms. "You have my attention now talk. You have three minutes to convince me that I shouldn't attack you again."
Nodding she sat in front of them. "Listen, I have been doing what I can to find you. Laxus once told me you disappeared in the year 777 without a trace." At the mention of Laxus she looked down at her daughter and combed her hair with her fingers. "I want to bring you home. Ivan is gone and I'm sure Makarov would be glad to see you," said Lucy. "And Laxus?" she asked. "About that he is currently no longer part of Fairy Tail but believe me when I tell you this, I'm sure he would be happy to see you when he comes home. He kept the roses alive. If he didn't love you would he have done that?" she asked. Smiling Kaori took Lucys' hand. "Thank you. I will come home. I've missed my family."
One week later they were all packed up and got on the train. In the week she was with them she learned that Yumi had another name. Her real name was Yumi-Rose, but preferred to use either Yumi or Rose. Because Kaori told everyone her name was Aoi they were able to hide in plan site. She also learned that Kaori was pregnant with Rose before she disappeared but didn't know yet and when she found out she was too afraid to go back. As the train pulled into Magnolia Rose was jumping up and down with excitement. Stepping onto the platform Lucy summoned Virgo. "You called princess," said Virgo. "Can you please bring these to the house. I want to go to the guild hall first before heading home." "Of course, princess." With that Virgo disappeared and everyone walked to the guild. When Rose saw the sign come into view she smiled and ran to the doors as Kaori and Lucy laughed walking quickly to keep up. Outside the doors she stopped, and Lucy put a hand on her shoulder. "Kaori don't worry it'll be alright. Master will be happy to see you and if Rose wants to become a part of the guild in a few years I'm sure we would be happy to have her." "Thank you, Lucy."
With that the three entered the guild hall and there were shouts for Lucy as she walked up to Mirajane. "Hey Mira, is Master here?" she asked. Mira looked up and her eyes widened for a moment before nodding and sending the three to his office. Knocking he called for them to come in. "Master…" began Lucy poking her head in. "Lucy child what is it?" he asked. "I have an old guild member who would like to see you. Is it alright if I let them in?" she asked. "Lucy for the last time Laxus is not allowed and you are pushing your limits! It is Fairy Tail law blood or not any member who would endanger our brethren must be dealt with." She looked at the floor and felt Kaori grab her hand. "It isn't Laxus, but I know now. It has been almost four months since he left, but it isn't easy for me. Anyways can she come in?" she smiled. His face softened and nodded. Stepping farther in Kaori and Rose walked in causing Makarov to freeze. "Kaori…" He stood up and walked over to her. "Welcome home," he said kindly. With those words she fell to her knees and cried. "I'm so sorry Makarov. I should have come to you, but I wanted to protect Laxus. By doing so it seems I have caused him more problems, "cried Kaori.
Makarov hugged her and put a hand on her head. "Kaori my darling daughter I have never stopped caring for you and everything you did was for your family. Laxus made his own decisions, but Lucy here helped stop him from doing irreversible damage to the town. Your son is on the right track now. Even though he is not part of Fairy Tail his journey will bring growth." Kaori nodded and hugged him back. "Thank you, father." Lucy smiled and pushed Rose forward. "And who might this cutie be?" asked Makarov. Smiling Kaori took her daughters' hand. "This is your granddaughter Yumi-Rose. She wields lightening Magic. Must be a Dreyar trait." Lucy decided to take her leave and slipped out quietly to return to Mira.
"Lucy, how did you find her?" asked Mira. "I used my celestial spirits to help find as much information on her and then talked to the bakers. Once they gave me what info they had I traveled to the town they last knew she had resided in to find out she moved and went to Hargeon. After that I fought her. I see where Laxus learned his fighting technique. Kaori was a worthy opponent and I hate to say it, but I was forced to fight dirty," said Lucy. "Be that as it may Lucy. I'm glad you did, or I wouldn't be here now," said Kaori. Lucy turned to see her standing next to Makarov with her daughter. "Listen up you lot!" shouted Makarov as he stood on the bar getting everyone's attention. "I would like everyone to welcome back to our guild Kaori Dreyar my daughter and our new guild member Rose Dreyar my granddaughter and sister to Laxus." There were shouts of welcome and surprise as the longtime guild members recognized Kaori. Macao and Wakaba instantly started hitting on her earning script metal which Gajeel started eating causing everyone to laugh.
That night Lucy let Kaori and Rose into the house. When Kaori entered, she smiled and picked up Rose. "Hardly anything has changed. Laxus really loved this house and I have missed it." Lucy showed them to their rooms before heading up the stairs to hers. When she reached the top, she felt her body tremble and fell to the ground breathing heavily. Trying to stand up she failed and knew she had to try and track down Laxus. She had been trying to track Laxus down, but with no luck she gave up and resigned herself to feel this pain. At first it wasn't to terrible, but as the days went by it got worse. Lucy grabbed her chest and leaned back against the wall. "Lucy, I'm sorry, but do you… LUCY!" Kaori ran up the stairs and felt her forehead. "You're burning up! We need to get you to see Porlyusica." She shook her head and smiled. "No. This is due to being his mate to his dragon. This will go away. Could you help me up though," she asked. Nodding Kaori helped her to bed. Worry was still on her face, but if there was one thing, she knew it was that Fairy Tail guild members were stubborn.
