Wrong. This was all wrong. Nothing about this made even a single bit of sense. This was the realization that Kyra Katobi came to as she stood in the CIC of the Normandy, looking down at this projection of the galaxy. Commander Shepard stood behind her, along with other members of her crew. All human. Kyra still had not entirely ruled out the possibility that this was all an Imperial trap, yet she sensed no dishonesty from the Commander and her crew.

She cleared her throat, and pointed to several points on the map.

"Coruscant. Mirial. Geonosis. Nal Hutta. Kuat. None of these worlds are where they should be. These constellations are wrong. Stars and planets in the wrong positions."

Silence once more reigned the command bridge, as all of these humans stared at her. The Commander was the first to break the silence, still keeping her voice mostly neutral.

"You'll have to not be offended when I find that hard to believe. Star constellations and planet locations don't just change, Kyra."

The Jedi began to pace back and forth atop the platform, stroking her chin.

"I remember flying through the Outer Rim, trying to-" Her eyes flicked to Shepard again, a flash of uncertainty once more revealed. "-avoid certain restrictions on travel. Said avoidance forced me to enter a thick nebula cloud, where I found the most peculiar thing. A massive artificial satellite, shaped quite like a tuning fork. When I approached it, energy interacted directly with my vessel's hyperdrive ring. The ring was fried, along with my droid, and when I left the nebula, I found myself under attack by those pirates. And then you found me."

One of the Commander's crew spoke up. One of the only non-humans present. An amphibian looking alien in a white coat that spoke almost too quickly for her to understand. In fact, Kyra did not understand him at all at first, reminding herself to use the Force. She closed her eyes, and the alien's speech slowly began to make sense.

"-scinating that mass relay interacted with non-element zero technology. Katobi's similarity to humans suggests possible common ancestor. But humans only been spacefaring for limited time. No chance of human colony evolving. Interesting. Very interesting. Clear that Katobi's ship was transported somewhere. Will need to corroborate with navigational data from vessel. Possible extra-galactic origin."

Shepard rolled her eyes, clearly used to the alien's fast pace of speech, and perhaps annoyed by it as well.

"We haven't given you a translator yet, so I'll tell you what the Doc said-"

"Oh, there is no need, Commander. I am able to understand most of what the Doctor has to say. I am no negotiator or consular, but I do have some skill in deciphering languages."

The alien's eyes went wide, and he began to speak even faster, pacing around the room.

"Able to decipher language in moments? Impossible without translation software. Or is it? Ground team stated Katobi exhibited displays of abilities similar to biotics. Yet no biotic implant. Compounded with translation." The alien sucked in a deep breath. "Are you psychic?"

Kyra couldn't help a smile from gracing her face as she laughed, some tension unexpectedly draining from her. Her eyes sparkled as she regarded the doctor.

"No, I would not quite call it that, my friend. Like all Jedi, my abilities come from the Force, not myself."

Instead of the alien doctor, Shepard was the one to respond this time. The commander was leaning against the wall, watching Kyra carefully. The Jedi could sense skepticism from her but did not fault her for it.

"That's the second time you've mentioned these 'Jedi'. Is that your species?"

Kyra blinked. Once again, these people acted like they had never heard of the Jedi, and once again, she did not sense deception. Perhaps that alien was right, and she had traveled galaxies. But how? How was that even possible?

"No, Commander. I am a Mirialan. The Jedi are an order of Force users that act as peacekeepers throughout the galaxy. Or at least we were." Kyra looked back at the starmap, working at her bottom lip with her teeth. An entire new galaxy. . .

"Well, when we get your ship up and running again, I'd be happy to take you back to your mass-"

"No."

Kyra's sudden somewhat hostile tone took everyone by surprise. She had been so calm so far, and the sudden shift in attitude was almost bipolar.

"No, there is no need. There is nothing to return to. With your permission, Commander, I'd like to oversee my ship and my droid. I need to meditate."

Her starfighter was a mess, to say the least. Part of the right wing had been utterly destroyed, and smoke trailed heavily from the engines. Her astromech was in two pieces, laid out on the side of the hangar. The blue paint was scratched, leaving pure durasteel underneath. Repairing it was going to be hard work. But it could be done.

Taking in a deep breath, the Mirialan sat next to the vessel, crossing her legs over each other. Keeping her hands clasped in her lap, she closed her eyes. She allowed herself to tap into the Force. Opened herself up to its touch, letting it flow through her. The Force here felt strange. In her home galaxy, the Force was in a constant ebb and flow between Light and Darkness. But here? Here, it was untouched. Completely balanced.

Or was it? She could feel something. As she allowed her spirit to swim through the current of the Force, she felt a great Darkness. A darkness unlike any she had experienced. What was that darkness? Why was it here? What did it want? She probed at it, her face contorting as she was overwhelmed by that Darkness. What was it-

"I am the Harbinger of your destruction."

Kyra gasped as she was blasted from her meditation, the Darkness practically smacking her down. She had never felt anything like that before! Even Count Dooku and Asajj Ventress did not hold such a terrible presence in the Force. Such evil. Such pure evil made her tremble.

Immediately, she went to find the Commander. According to the other members of her crew, Shepard was in the comm room with two people named Miranda and Jacob. The Mirialan was directed to the room, where she found the three of them in deep discussion.

Shepard blinked as the Jedi made her appearance.

"Kyra? Did you need something-"

"Your mission. I sense it has great importance. What is it?'

The black haired woman present in the room scoffed, crossing her arms.

"As I was saying Shepard, I don't believe we can trust this woman. We should have her vessel stripped for parts and sent to Cerberus for immediate analysis."

The Commander's response was direct and hostile, her eyes narrowed as she hissed at the woman.

"Miss Lawson, I hope you remember who is in command of this ship and this mission. Kyra has done nothing to invite such aggression, and unless she personally sends them, Cerberus won't be getting any data about her vessel."

She turned her eyes back to Kyra. Considering. Thoughtful.

"There's a species of aliens called the Collectors, operating out in the Terminus Systems. They're abducting entire human colonies. Tens of thousands of innocent people. We think they're taking them beyond the Omega-4 relay, where no ship has ever come back from. We're going to stop them, whatever it takes. Chances are, we won't be coming back."

Kyra considered that, her blue eyes never leaving the Commander's. Then she nodded, and smiled.

"A Jedi is sworn to protect the innocent from whatever may threaten them. This seems to be a mission worthy of the Jedi Council itself. It may provide a chance for redemption. I would be happy to assist you in this important mission, commander, with your leave."

Shepard examined her closely, looking her up and down. Then the redhead smiled right back at her, a twinkle in her eyes.

"I would be happy to have you on my crew, Kyra. Set up wherever you like. We're headed to Korlus to pick up another member of our merry little band. I'd love to see you in real action."

Kyra bowed her head towards her.

"I will prepare myself. For now, I will stay with my ship and work on its repair. May the Force be with you, Commander."
